This project will bring the learning from all our client’s place-based projects in Scotland to deliver activities and opportunities to enable people to walk, wheel and cycle, for local journeys, leisure, and adventure. Their development officer team are embedded in local communities, working closely with community organisations, local business, and public sector agencies to:

• Bring organisations together to coordinate their activities and offers, to add value to what already exists and identify what additional activities are needed.
• Deliver a range of walking, wheeling, and cycling activities, from pre-school and family cycling activities to health and heritage walks, adaptive cycling sessions for disabled people, confidence building sessions and learn to ride lessons for every age and ability level. 
• Provide access to a range of cycles for people to try on short or long-term loan, supporting individuals to find a cycle and support that works for them and signposting them to partners that can provide funding for purchases.
• Work with local organisations to upskill and build the capacity of volunteers to deliver activities in the community.

What's the role about?

For the key strategic business partnership within the dairy sector the role will visit farmer-suppliers and provide in-person habitat advice, and speak with farmers remotely (via Teams / Zoom) to understand their farming operation and provide habitat advice.

You will use this insight and experience to help inform the marketing tools and advisory programme for broader supply chain (other farms) within the partnership.

For other Fair to Nature farmers, and businesses directly linked to them, you will prepare for and complete advisory visits and follow up with applicant Fair to Nature farmers and share the benefits of Fair to Nature certification. You will advise them on how to comply with the FtN Standard and help them complete their Farm Plan.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Knowledge of land management practices that deliver nature and wider environment benefits on farmland.
• Understanding of the ecology of main farmland taxa, particularly those of conservation concern.
• Understanding of agricultural systems and how conservation management may impact on farming practice.
• Able to communicate effectively with farmers and advise them on land management for nature.
• Ability to be self-motivated and work efficiently within a defined work plan. This necessitates the ability to plan and organise their own work.
• Competent IT user (e.g. MS packages, Outlook etc).
• An ability to produce clear written communications.
• Proven time management and organisational skills to meet project deadlines.

As the Digital Product Officer, you will support the ongoing development and management of the organisation’s website. Help to manage the process for reporting, testing and deploying updates to the functionality. Improve the processes around the creation of content on the website and help manage the back end of the CMS to ensure it is clear and functional.

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the Philanthropy and Partnerships team, using your skills and experience to grow the corporate partnerships programme and secure support from new corporate supporters.

As the Corporate Partnerships Senior Officer, you will lead on securing new six figure multi-year corporate partnerships. Wohl Legacy 

Part time Finance Director

Salary circa £90,000 FTE (2.5 – 3 days per week)

Remote / Occasional travel to London

The Wohl Legacy is comprised of three independent charities all founded by the late Maurice and Vivienne Wohl. The Wohl Legacy invests in and partners with numerous organisations and communities in the fields of Medical Advancement, Care and Welfare, Jewish and Communal Life, Jewish Education, and Pathways to Employment, working with these organisations to ensure lasting change.

We are looking for a proactive and highly capable Finance Director to join our small organisation and provide 360 degree support to the Chief Executive Officer. The organisation has gone through a period of modernisation and we are looking for someone who will continue to seek to improve and streamline processes and find more agile ways of working.

This position is responsible for the full finance function and responsibilities include:

• Overall responsibility for the development and successful delivery of the Finance function; 
• Leading on financial planning, preparing annual budgets and quarterly management accounts;
• Preparing year end SORP accounts and liaising with the auditors; producing the Annual Report and Financial Statements; reporting to Finance, Audit and Risk Committee, Investment Committee and the Board of Trustees;
• Liaising with investment managers to obtain regular reports of performance and undertaking new investment movement analysis;
• Ensuring the Foundation’s policies are kept up to date and compliant;
• Communicating complex financial information and influencing and building rapport with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience of the UK charity or not for profit sector, advanced knowledge of SORP and charity VAT. You will have led a strategic finance function, produced statutory accounts, management accounts, financial reports and analysis. You will have demonstrable commercial acumen, a strong understanding of business and strategic issues, and the ability to appropriately challenge and advise budget holders. You will have excellent communication skills and a passion for helping us achieve our vision.
