We are an award-winning national charity which trains over  20,000 young people affected by street violence each year in emergency first-aid through a team of 250 healthcare volunteers and youth workers. As the StreetDoctors lead for operational delivery, the role will manage and develop the organisation's delivery capacity and implement new innovative national projects. Strategic Operations & IT Leadership

· Lead the development and delivery of the annual Operations & IT plan, budget, and reporting.

Operational Systems, Policies, and Services

The Operations Manager is a key hire within our small but highly effective Operations Unit, sitting alongside a People Operations Manager and reporting directly to the Director of Operations. The Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting CLTR’s overall operations, working across units and delivering projects spanning cybersecurity, finance, administration, data protection, office management and others.

This is a hands-on, generalist role suited to a skilled and self-motivated operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable switching between strategic project management and day-to-day delivery. You will have the confidence to take on new challenges and the ability to communicate clearly with internal teams, contractors and external service providers to drive impact.

You will take ownership of key operational systems and processes, lead on our internal cybersecurity and IT operations (in partnership with our external managed service provider), and support a range of compliance, administrative, and organisational improvement projects. As the organisation grows, this role will be central to building the infrastructure that supports a scaling team.

What you’ll do:

Project & Operations Management

• Project manage key operational initiatives from initiation through to delivery, maintaining clear plans, timelines, and stakeholder communication.

• Support the Director of Operations in developing and implementing operational strategies aligned with the organisation's growth plans.

• Identify inefficiencies in existing systems and processes and drive improvements, ensuring the organisation is well-positioned to scale.

Office & Administrative Operations

• Contribute to scaling the organisation's operational capabilities as headcount grows, including helping to onboard new staff, implement new tools, and embed operational best practice.

Person Specification

Essential

• Proven track record in an operations, project management, or business management role.

• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and deliver to deadlines.

• Proven ability to manage IT and/or cybersecurity operations, ideally including experience working with external managed service providers.

• Experience supporting compliance or governance functions, including working knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection practice.

Location and Travel Requirements

For over twenty years, Barnardo's LINK has delivered high-quality post adoption support to children and families. Our work supports prospective adopters, adoptive families, children and young people, birth family relatives, and families funded via the Adoption Special Guardianship Support Fund (ASGSF).

We work alongside people seeking safety to ensure access to daily essentials, and fill gaps where state support is not provided. We are here for everyone attempting to navigate the complexities of claiming asylum in the UK - providing access to justice, and practical, welcoming support. We also communicate to the public the need for action in support of refugees. Our vision is an inclusive society where people seeking safety have a safe home and a bright future free from inequality.

In northern France we operate year round from Calais, providing warm clothing, shoes, shelter, services, and assistance to refugees living in appalling conditions.

Across the UK we collect and distribute clothes and other essential items, and provide social support and interaction including language lessons, sport and music workshops. We also help with vital access to legal, medical and educational services. We are a community with the shared goals of creating a just asylum system, and a fair and welcoming society for all refugees.

Our work involves organising successful campaigns against racist UK government policies, such as the Rwanda plan and the use of barracks as accommodation for people seeking sanctuary.

All of Care4Calais' operations are supported by a small, dedicated staff team, who supervise large volunteer teams to provide critical support to asylum seekers and people on the move in both the UK and France.

About the role

The UK Operations team provides essential psychosocial support to people seeking safety through practical services; such as running distributions, delivering English classes and drop ins, as well as activities to promote wellbeing such as trips and sports activities.

The UK Field Operations Manager will be responsible for managing our operations in London, working as part of the UK Field Operations Team to support large teams of grassroots volunteers to provide essential support to people seeking safety. 

You will need to onboard and motivate volunteers through continuous engagement and support to ensure that proper safety procedures for effective  distributions and activities are in place, well communicated, and consistently applied. The performance of each region and team needs to be regularly assessed and action taken to build capacity and skills where needed. Successful Field Operations Managers will build networks with local charities, community groups and Local Authorities to help grow and develop the operations of the local Care4Calais volunteer teams. As an operation, continuous improvement through research, learning and development of practices and policies will be critical. This is a pivotal role at National Numeracy, helping to ensure our people, systems and processes enable the

As a key member of the operations function, you will work closely with the Operations & Impact Director to
strengthen organisational effectiveness, support colleagues across the organisation and help drive
continuous improvement in the way we work.

During this maternity cover period, a particular focus will be supporting the ongoing development and
adoption of our CRM and operational systems, ensuring they provide robust information, efficient processes

Job Summary: The Operational Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership across regional and national services ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, innovative and evidence-informed services.

Working closely with the PAC-UK Senior Leadership Team the postholder will drive service improvement, embed best practice and support staff development across regional and national teams

The role will also contribute to shaping national approaches through local insight, ensuring that services align with PAC-UK’s strategic priorities, relevant legislation and Family Action’s values and policies.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

1.To manage, support and supervise Practice Managers to ensure that the services provided are efficient, effective, offer high quality and work to measurable outcomes.

2.To have overall responsibility for ensuring that Practice Managers are making the best use of resources by overseeing the annual budget-setting process and by closely monitoring income and expenditure on a regular basis with Senior Leadership Team Members.

3. Assist Practice Managers in the allocation of cases, management of caseloads drawing on contract monitoring data to support decision making

3.To work with Practice Managers to make sure that all commissioned services meet their performance targets and comply with the relevant contract monitoring and reporting arrangements. Including preparing performance data, presenting monitoring reports at commissioner meetings.

4. To manage, support and develop PAC-UK volunteers which includes robust inductions, supervision and opportunities for additional trainings and developments relevant to the role.

5. To lead on and support the development of PAC-UK's voice and influence work (including ongoing co-design and co-production of services and leading on events such as National Adoption week alongside other regional/national voice and influence events.

6.To ensure that all projects are fully compliant with Family Action’s Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults policies, procedures and practice standards.

7.To oversee the safe recruitment of new members of staff, and to make sure that all members of staff have coherent job descriptions, are properly inducted, receive regular supervision, are subject to an annual performance appraisal and have up-to-date development plans.

8.To be a passionate advocate for service user participation and involvement: children, young people and adults, and to work with Practice Managers to increase the opportunities for service users to influence and shape the way adoption services are designed, developed and delivered, including oversight of volunteers.

9.To support Practice Manager in setting and implementing Continuous Service Development Plans, Practice Wheels, Open to closure pathways and logic models as part of a commitment to continuous service improvement.

10.To identify gaps and any shortfalls in performance and, by working collaboratively with staff and Practice Managers to develop practical solutions to address them.

11.To promote a positive public image of Family Action to increase public and professional awareness of Family Action’s work and support the Senior Leadership team in securing new and re-commissioned contracts.

12. With close support of the Senior Leadership team, manage service budgets to ensure sustainability and value for money.  Identify and respond to financial and performance risks and prepare business cases and financial plans for service development.

13.To develop good working relationships with funders, commissioners and other key stakeholders within the Adoption Sector and to contribute to local strategic and national Adoption initiatives, as appropriate.

14.To ensure the implementation of Family Action’s Diversity & Equality Policy and our Ethical Policy in every aspect of your work and positively promote the principles of these policies amongst colleagues, service users and other members of the community.

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Operations and Resource Manager to play a key role in the smooth running of our cycle training and sustainable travel services. This is a hands-on coordination role at the heart of our charity, supporting our freelance instructor team, operational systems, project delivery and client relationships.

You will help make sure instructors have the information, resources and support they need, that records and compliance documents are accurate and up to date, and that our services continue to be delivered safely, professionally and effectively. You will work closely with our Project Managers and wider team, helping to keep communication flowing and knowledge shared across the organisation.

About the role:

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance and Operations, you will have input into how Rainbow Trust manages its IT, property and facilities, and fleet - while also leading on the day-to-day operational infrastructure across the organisation, including overall responsibility for our IT infrastructure and security.
