Young Citizens is seeking a Business Development and Special Projects Lead to support a critical year of fundraising, income generation and partnership development. This role supports the special projects work with the CEO and will work with the senior team to lead on the income and visibility opportunities that unlock our delivery for our three-year strategy.
Your Role’s Purpose
Year 1 of this role will be focused on business model development, income generation and strategic partnerships. Working closely with the CEO and senior management team, you will help shape, test and secure new funding and commercial opportunities that position Young Citizens for long-term sustainability and impact. The special projects element includes supporting the developmental design of our future business model, charity strategy and public affairs work.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building, creating and working at pace to achieve great results within a small team. You will be rapidly developing propositions, forging partnerships and converting ideas into credible, funded initiatives. You will play a central role in strengthening our relationships with funders, institutions, corporates and sector partners, while supporting wider organisational development projects.
Young Citizens works at the intersection of education, democracy and civic life, and this role offers a unique opportunity to influence how active citizenship is funded, delivered and embedded across the UK.
In Year 1, your primary focus will be to:
- Develop and drive income/fundraising with existing channels, including grant funding, partnerships and commercial activity.
- Build a strong pipeline of income opportunities, working closely with the CEO to convert prospects into funding
- Produce high-quality business cases, funding bids, proposals and presentations of our work
- Design and execute new funding models and partnership opportunities alongside the CEO’s updated strategic plan
- Lead staff member for strategic engagement with funders, corporates, policymakers and sector stakeholders.
Alongside this, you will contribute to priority special projects that support Young Citizens’ organisational growth and external positioning.
Who We’re Looking For
This role is not just open to traditional fundraisers or partnership managers. As long as you have the seniority and expertise leading results, you might come from a charity, social enterprise, consultancy, policy or start-up background. What matters most is your ability to confidently progress a pipeline of opportunities, build partnerships, generate income and deliver results.
We are interested in a wider pool of candidates with 5+ years in the working world, possibly from other start-ups or programme design focus instead of 'trad' fundraising roles'. - Immediate management and confidence securing existing income contracts with corporate and funding partners of £200,000+
- Tactical, high-volume stakeholder engagement campaigns to increase sponsorship and new income opportunities
- Leading the development of improved business modelling, pricing structures and income streams that create a more sustainable base

About Access
Access - The Foundation for Social Investment works to ensure that charities and social enterprises can access the finance they need to sustain or grow their impact. Access is currently implementing a new CRM and Grant Management System (Salesforce-based, delivered by implementation partner Vera) to support its programmes, partner relationships, and reporting needs. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the system is delivered well and that Access is ready to operate it confidently at go-live.
Position Overview
Access is seeking a Salesforce Implementation & Delivery Manager on a fixed-term basis to support the delivery of its Salesforce-based CRM and Grant Management System.
Reporting to the Project Manager, this role will combine:
- strong project coordination and delivery management,
- hands-on Salesforce CRM expertise, and
- practical change management capability to help staff adapt to new systems and ways of working.
As Access does not have Salesforce expertise in-house, this role will act as a key internal point of reference, helping to review and sense-check design decisions, manage delivery risks, and ensure that the system being built is usable, well understood, and ready for go-live.
This is not a developer or Salesforce Administrator role, but it does require strong Salesforce CRM experience, alongside proven ability to support users through change, structure complex projects, and keep delivery on track. The role will continue through early post–go live to support transition into business-as-usual and handover to the incoming System Administrator.
This is a Fixed-Term Contract of 6 months minimum. Full-time hours are preferred but we are also open to 4 days per week. Ideally we would like one day per week in our office (Tuesday), which is situated in Old Street, London.

The Geological Society Publishing House has an exciting opportunity within the publishing operations team for a ‘Publishing Platform Lead’ to maintain our established flagship publishing platform the Lyell Collection.

Founded in 1807, we are the oldest geological society in the world. Today, we are a world-leading communicator of Earth science – through publishing, library and information services, cutting-edge scientific conferences, education activities and outreach to the general public. We also provide impartial scientific information and evidence to support policy-making and public debate about the challenges facing humanity.
We have a membership (Fellowship) of c. 12,000, more than 2,000 of whom are based outside the UK. Approximately 3,000 are Chartered Geologists or Chartered Scientists - professionals who have demonstrated a high level of technical competence in their field and a commitment to professional ethics.

An independent and international publisher, we are dedicated to providing a high-quality service to geoscientists globally and any surplus is invested to support our discipline. We publish a diverse range of books and journals on the Lyell Collection, with over 10,000 pages of new peer-reviewed geoscience literature being made available every year.
Overall responsibilities / requirements …
To oversee the smooth running of the Society’s publishing platform, which showcases our portfolio of online titles. Reporting to the Head of Publishing Operations (HoPO), you will be chiefly responsible for the management, support and maintenance of the Atypon powered Lyell Collection platform.
You will collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and stay up to date with the latest emerging platform technologies. You will be responsible for maintaining the Society’s online publishing platforms, so an understanding of a range of standard integrations, workflows, html and XML is essential.
Key accountabilities
Platform maintenance
- Oversee and maintain the Atypon Web Admin Tool (WAT) for the Society’s scholarly book and journal platform.
- Manage a queue of platform maintenance and change requests, including triage, feasibility analysis, testing and quality assurance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for reporting platform issues to Atypon (the hosting provider), managing communications, and monitoring the support ticket system to ensure timely resolution.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot platform issues reported internally and communicate resolution statuses.
- Support development of new platform features and assist with implementation and QA.
- Maintain, validate, edit, and troubleshoot JATS XML while staying current with JATS and NISO standards and ensuring vendor compliance.
- Set up new pages and journal/book series sites within the platform as needed, ensuring all new website content is consistent with site templates and branding.
- Ensure that any new developments are tested and work as per requirements, utilizing the test facilities of the platform via sandbox areas.
Third party tools and services
- Act as the point of contact with vendors who provide supporting or downstream services for the Lyell Collection, e.g. CrossRef, Digital Science, indexing services etc.
- Oversee the smooth deposit of selected content via Zipline into the GeoScienceWorld (GSW) platform, hosted by Silverchair. This is published via multiresolution doi on both the Lyell Collection and GSW.
Accessibility
- Manage web accessibility compliance in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors by overseeing the implementation of necessary improvements in line with publishing standards and directives.
- Check that any changes in XML tagging or online display meet accessibility requirements.

Job Title: Schools Engagement Coordinator (Inspiring the Future)
Reports to: Head of School Programmes
Location: Quantum House, 22 – 24 Red Lion Court, Fleet Street, EC4A 3AB. The role is open to hybrid working but the candidate would be expected to be in the office one day per week
Purpose: This is a fantastic opportunity to take on the role of Schools Engagement Coordinator for Education and Employers on the internationally recognised Inspiring the Future programme. As a charity, our mission is to: ‘ensure that every young person in our country, wherever they live, whatever their parents or carers’ circumstances, has the opportunity to meet a diverse range of volunteers to hear first-hand about jobs and the world of work’.
This key post is part of the Schools Engagement Team with responsibility for working closely with primary school and secondary school teachers and leaders to support them with running activities involving a diverse range of volunteers from the world of work. The role is rewarding and varied and will include supporting delivery of funded projects aimed at these audiences and general administrative support.
Remuneration: £27k per annum

Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Head of Schools Programmes, the Schools Engagement Coordinator is responsible for working closely with school staff in promoting and empowering schools to utilise Inspiring the Future and Primary Futures, alongside delivering virtual activities for schools. These programmes are an online system connecting schools to an enormous range of fascinating volunteers from the world of work for virtual or in person activities to raise aspirations, provide insight into jobs, tackle stereotypes and demonstrate how learning at school in the present links to opportunities in the future.
This role will be split between supporting the general self-service programme for schools nationally in an administrative capacity and delivering on funded projects including delivering activities to a case load of schools across parts of the country. There is opportunity to interface directly with children and young people from both secondary and primary schools. through facilitating virtual and in person interactive activities with volunteers.

Enquiries management and administrative support across the programme team:
- Managing the enquiries inbox and switchboard phone number, responding to enquiries from schools and volunteers about the charity’s work and programmes and how to sign up
- Providing targeted support to schools such as phone calls to primary, secondary schools and colleges independently utilising the programmes using a RAG (red, amber, green) system to convert them to successful activities
- Providing administrative support across the volunteer and school engagement teams, including record-keeping, data entry, meeting minute-taking, scheduling, event coordination, etc
- Monitoring new registrations from schools and sending welcome emails, keeping this up-to-date with the latest opportunities and messaging for schools
- Use Salesforce CRM to support with data management, assisting with maintaining up to date records and supporting data cleansing as needed

School Engagement:
- Supporting new teacher registrants with onboarding processes such as welcome emails, platform demonstrations, info webinars
- Writing and coordinating persuasive communications campaigns to different groups of schools that have an interest in engaging with volunteers from the world of work
- In collaboration with rest of team, identifying need for and developing new resources and guidance to meet teacher needs and support them to make the most of our offers
- In collaboration with rest of team, developing and implementing new processes and technical improvements, to support increased school engagement.
Project Delivery:
- Recruiting and engaging schools according to the geographic or sector focus of a funded project
- Managing relationships with a case load of schools in different areas of the country to host planning calls, deliver sessions, gather evaluation data and ensure a legacy of independent usage
- Setting up virtual and face-to-face activities including school liaison, securing volunteers, test calls, setting up on the Inspiring the Future system and hosting on tech platforms e.g. Zoom
- Facilitating virtual and face to face activities to pupils to link with volunteers, hosting and designing themed sessions online to ensure an interactive and engaging experience for children and volunteers, following a Q&A or job guessing-game format.
- Supporting and co-hosting sessions to teachers including teacher training, staff meetings and info webinars to promote Inspiring the Future, deepen engagement and demonstrate independent usage

- Minimum one year’s experience in a customer service, school engagement or school-based role
- Experience in successful relationship management – ability to engage confidently and sensitively with schools/colleges and at a range of levels of seniority up to and including headteacher level
- Outstanding customer service and telephone manner, including handling large volumes of email enquiries and dealing with difficult situations politely and assertively

Who we’re looking for
We are looking for an experienced, people-oriented project manager who is excited to help us deliver and scale innovative data programmes. You will work directly with organisations from across the third sector to understand their missions and translate their challenges into well-scoped projects. You will also support teams of volunteer data experts to scope projects and deliver impactful data science solutions.
You don't need to write code or run analysis yourself, but you should be comfortable working alongside technical experts, asking the right questions to scope data projects, and translating between technical and non-technical stakeholders. You'll need to hold conversations with data scientists about what's feasible, help charity partners understand what's possible with their data, and know when to bring in additional technical expertise.

Working hours and location
This is a full-time role (35 hours per week); however we will consider part-time options (28 or 32 hours per week) for a strong candidate. Working hours are flexible, but we ask that 75% of working time is within the hours of 10am and 6pm, to facilitate team working and real-time collaboration.
The role requires regular out-of-hours commitments - roughly one weekend per quarter and 2-4 evenings per month for volunteer events. This work is part of, rather than additional to, your hours, and you must take time off in lieu for any extra working hours.
Our organisation is remote-first, and this role is hybrid, with access to London office space on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and quarterly in-person commitments in London. We have a preference for candidates able to work from our office space in London at least one day per week. The Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Associate Director of Philanthropy, UK, the Philanthropy Manager will support the implementation of the UK Philanthropy team’s strategy, with a focus to identify, establish and develop new and existing high value relationships with individuals who have the capacity to support IRC at a five and six figure level. The Senior Individual Giving Manager is responsible for driving forward our Individual Giving Programme, engaging and recruiting supporters across cash, regular giving, and legacy to Trussell through compelling direct marketing activity and stewardship communications across a range of online and offline channels. Responsible for leading on our major appeals, this role sits within a team of fundraising experts and works collaboratively with colleagues across the Together with Trussell programme to create integrated and powerful fundraising campaigns, working to retain and uplift supporters over time to enhance their lifetime value.
This role is part of the Together with Trussell programme, the goal of which is to build stronger connections with our supporters, partners and donors in order to increase funding, campaigning, and other forms of support for our work. Technical skills and minimum knowledge:

Introduction
We are looking for an exceptional fundraising Programme Manager to join and lead our Caribbean UK Overseas Territories (UKOTs) team. Based in the region the Caribbean UKOTs Programme Manager will work closely with regional management teams and our excellent external partners to develop and oversee a pipeline of high impact conservation projects across the Caribbean UKOTs.
What's the role about?
In a time of constrained funding the primary responsibilities for this role include a significant focus on helping to identify and develop fundraising opportunities, supporting our various partners to build their own organisational fundraising capacity, and working to secure financing to deliver against a range of national and regional environmental priorities.
The Programme Manager will in addition lead and oversee several Caribbean-based RSPB project managers to ensure successful delivery of projects within the region and ensure that these contribute to impactful outcomes for species and habitats and delivery of the Strategic Outcomes of both the RSPB and our partners.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Knowledge of Caribbean conservation issues, species and habitats.
- Innovation and adaptation in fundraising practices and approaches.
- Knowledge of project / programme management principles and their application.
- Programmatic working and project development as a member of multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Demonstrate experience and ability to engage, persuade, influence and work with a wide range of organisations, prospective donors/funders, and stakeholder groups, both internally and externally.
- Proven experience of delivering structured training, mentorship and capacity development within teams and across partner and peer organisations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with external and internal teams to identify and manage the development of donor relationships and funding proposals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including representation of data and income trends, and ability to present, influence and represent RSPB and partner priorities to a wide variety of audiences.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to find creative solutions to complex issues.
- An understanding and sensitivity to the diverse cultural perspectives and identities held in the Caribbean.
- Logical, methodical, and analytical approach to working with proven time management and organizational skills and a good eye for detail.
- Proven experience in successful large-scale fundraising from a range of sources (corporate, philanthropic, high-net worth, etc.) within the Caribbean region.
- Experience forming, leading and managing multidisciplinary teams, overseeing workloads, and evaluating programmes/projects.
- Demonstrable experience of developing and working effectively in cross-disciplinary partnerships to achieve shared outcomes.
- Knowledge and experience of working with and advocating to Government and other authorities to deliver change.
- Experience in cost and budget management, with a track record of working with complex financial systems, developing and managing budgets, overseeing financial reporting of partners and direct reporting for diverse funding streams.
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:
- Knowledge of relevant environmental management activities such as habitat creation and/or restoration, biosecurity and eradication, species recovery.
- A good technical background on island and species conservation.
- Direct experience using MS Project, or similar project management software packages and fundraising databases (e.g. Raisers Edge, Care or Salesforce).
Additional Information:
- This is a Permanent role for 37.5 hours per week.
- The role is Caribbean based and only open to those with existing rights to live and work in the region. The position is home based with frequent travel to support partners across the Caribbean UKOTs.

Your purpose
To support our CEO, Director of Strategic Development and other members of the Senior Leadership Team to engage partners in our strategic planning, including to influence the implementation of the new national curriculum and guidance on oracy and establish a new advisory board to inform our strategy. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of our partnerships strategy using email communications, providing administration and leading on planning for a series of meetings, round table discussions and partnership events. Your responsibilities
Partner relationships & communications

Ensure that communications to partners are sent in a clear and timely manner, using either automation or other systems e.g. mail merge.

Coordinate processes for partnership meetings and roundtables, e.g. the booking process for participants and arrangements relating to special adjustments etc.

Use our Customer Relationship Management (CRM), SalesForce, to create records and collect and update partner data.
Meeting coordination & delivery

Arrange all key activities for events you are responsible for. This could include Advisory Board meetings (online and in person), visits to schools or roundtable and briefing meetings. Manage invites and book venues, reminder/follow up communications, and ensure feedback is captured and collated.
