Salary: £33,220 - £38,370 per annum if based in London. £30,645 -£35,795 per annum if based in Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle or Bristol. Salary banding is dependent on the skills and experience criteria detailed below. £312 yearly tax-free work from home allowance. Salaries are reviewed annually in August.

ROLE SUMMARY
This is a great opportunity for a motivated and ambitious fundraiser with experience in trusts, foundations and/or corporate fundraising to join upReach as we deliver our three-year strategy (2024–2027). The successful candidate will contribute to the growth of upReach through the development and stewardship of relationships with trusts, foundations, and corporate partners, and by helping secure five and six figure grants and gifts.
Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager, this role will manage a portfolio of funders and help the wider team to meet income targets. You will work collaboratively across the organisation including the delivery and impact teams, finance, partnerships, and Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with stakeholders (internal and external)

Develop and maintain positive, mutually beneficial relationships with key external contacts, including funders and volunteers.

Fundraising

Independently manage a portfolio of charitable trusts & foundations, and corporate supporters, giving at the five and six figure level. Steward these relationships delivering the highest levels of donor care.

Research and identify potential new funding opportunities to build the team’s pipeline.

Lead on the cultivation of your own pipeline of new funders, working creatively to find opportunities to engage organisations with our work.

Develop compelling, comprehensive funding proposals for trusts & foundations and companies, to renew existing partnerships and secure funding from new organisations.

Work closely with colleagues in the Data & Impact and Programmes team to prepare and write donor reports and other impact communications.

Contribute to the smooth delivery of philanthropic corporate partnerships including employee engagement, staff fundraising activities and volunteering.

Prepare and thoroughly brief senior colleagues ahead of meetings with potential and existing funders.
Financial

Contribute to team fundraising income target (circa £2m) in line with the overarching strategy.

Help track progress against income targets and report on performance regularly to the fundraising team.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful, it is anticipated that you will have experience working in a fundraising role within a charity or similar environment. The ideal candidate should display these skills:

Significant experience working in a fundraising or similar role within a charity or nonprofit setting, to include writing funding proposals and stewardship reports.

Knowledge of high value fundraising techniques including a clear understanding of prospecting, cultivating, securing and managing partnerships.

Role Purpose
Winston’s Wish is a digital first organisation leading the way in Digital Transformation across the Bereavement sector. This role is new and exciting and will play a vital part in helping Winston’s Wish turn up the dial across our high value fundraising.
As Philanthropy Manager you will be responsible for growing income from major donors and Trusts and Foundations through excellent donor stewardship. Leading a team of committed Trust fundraisers, you will focus on identifying prospective individual donors and foundations and develop lasting relationships with them. You will also support the management of relationships with existing donors, ensuring all donors have an excellent experience of supporting Winston’s Wish and understand the impact of their support on the lives of grieving children.
Main Responsibilities
Leadership
- To lead and inspire the Philanthropy team fostering a collaborative and high culture that delivers against income and objectives.
- Provide clear and supportive leadership that motivates staff to achieve, develop and grow in their roles.
- Undertake quarterly reviews for all direct reports.
Philanthropy Fundraising
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with high-value donors, ensuring effective solicitation, stewardship, and follow-up to secure significant contributions (six-figure gifts).
- Build and maintain a portfolio of Trust & Grants supporters. Responsible for researching, approaching and developing compelling applications with a focus on ensuring Trusts & Grants provide a long-term, diverse and sustainable income stream.
- Lead the development and stewardship of the Philanthropy board to identify and secure transformational (6-7 figure) gifts and the development of the Business development Board to open opportunities with Corporate Partners.
- Write and design a compelling case for support that is tailored to our High Value audiences.
- Lead on planning and delivering successful high value cultivation events.
- Represent Winston’s Wish at fundraising events and meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- You will identify new major donors and Trusts and Foundations who have the potential to make a significant difference to the lives of grieving children. You will develop and implement cultivation strategies to turn prospects into supporters.
- You will work with the Individual Giving Manager to identify mid-level donors who could be stewarded into the major donor pipeline.
Strategy, Planning and reporting
- You will work alongside the Director of Income Generation to support the development and implementation of a new Philanthropy strategy covering development of a prospect pipeline, building a culture of peer referrals, annual targets and personalised engagement plans.
- Lead on developing and delivering effective stewardship journeys and cultivation plans.
- Produce regular reports on fundraising activity, analysing performance against targets, and identifying areas for improvement and growth.
- Work with the Director of Income Generation to develop the annual budget, including leading on monthly performance reports and contributing to quarterly reforecasts and reporting against KPI’s and milestones.
- Undertake research and make use of tools to identify potential High Value partners.
Collaboration
- Work closely with the Director of Income Generation, SLT and other teams to maximise high value fundraising opportunities.
- Where appropriate, you will involve Winston’s Wish senior staff and the Board of Trustees to make the most of opportunities to engage and build relationships with existing and potential supporters.

Mary Hare educates 200 profoundly deaf children at its residential school in Berkshire, and we pride ourselves on our pupils’ achievements at GCSE, A Level as well as B Tech and Vocational Courses. The Role:

As Head of Philanthropy, you will be an experienced manager and fundraiser, confident in securing and stewarding donors. You will devise and implement a comprehensive strategy to build income from individuals across our full suite of giving schemes. You will personally scope, secure and steward new major gifts from individuals, support your line report and manage your own portfolio of current and prospective donors.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a philanthropy strategy across all levels of individual giving, to support future growth targets and deliver budgeted annual income targets.
- Be responsible for the growth, development and management of the Benefactor programme.
- Research, build and steward a pipeline of high-value prospects and to drive new activity to secure four to six figure gifts.
- Personally manage a portfolio of key relationships, developing robust supporter engagement plans to maximise opportunities for support. Meet with and cultivate new prospects and establish long-term, respectful, tailored relationships.

- Monitor fundraising performance and budgets and provide timely reports and analysis to the Director of Development.
- Ensure income is tracked and progressed through phased budgets, prospect pipelines and moves management processes, supported by the CRM database.
- Contribute to the overall fundraising success of the Development Team, supporting opportunities for collaboration and championing a supportive, high-performing culture.
- Ensure that all activities comply with current GDPR legislation, codes of practice and ethical guidelines.
Additional criteria
- The role requires the post holder to work some evenings both in Leeds and in touring venues across the UK.

Quest for Learning is an education charity on a mission to close the gap for primary school children in Oxfordshire who are falling behind - often due to complex and compounding disadvantage. Open Door received national recognition for impact, as a 2024 finalist for Health Service Journal (HSJ) Award for Reducing Inequality and Improving Outcomes for Children and Young People Open Door is community embedded, integrated into the local mental health infrastructure, commissioned by North Central London Integrated Care Board and part of the Haringey Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service single-point-of-access. We have a strategic voice which is used to advocate for young people’s mental health and influence practice. Last year we supported over 800 young people, parents and carers and offered over 8000 appointments. This is an exciting time to join Open Door. The candidate will have key role in ensuring Open Door’s operations are efficient and effective.
Open Door works from our bases in Crouch End and Tottenham and provides services in local secondary schools and the @Haringey Autism Hub. Most of our work is delivered in person ad this is what most young people tell us they want. Demand for the service is high.
