East Brighton Trust (EBT) is seeking an experienced Head of Projects and Fundraising to lead the creation, development, and funding of innovative projects across East Brighton, and to play a key role in establishing a new charity being developed by EBT to lead creative, enterprise, and social infrastructure work in the area. 

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role for someone with strong experience in project development, bid writing, fundraising, and partnership building. You will help turn ideas into delivery and impact, securing the investment and collaborations needed to bring the new charity to life.

We are looking for an interim Oxbridge Programme Manager to join our Student Opportunities team on a fixed-term basis. Job Purpose

The Oxbridge Programme Manager will be responsible for the development and delivery of the Explore Oxbridge programme. They will work closely with the Head of Student Opportunities to plan and develop the programme.

The role will involve the management and coordination of a comprehensive package of support for students from Year 9 / S2 upwards. This includes workshops, webinars, day trips and residentials designed to increase student knowledge about studying at selective universities, in particular The University of Oxford and The University of Cambridge.

The role will involve stewardship of various stakeholders, including Oxbridge colleges and IU school partners. The Programme Manager will work closely with the wider Student Opportunities team and IntoUniversity centre teams to ensure students are benefitting from the programme.

Explore Oxbridge

The Explore Oxbridge programme is open to students who are either currently being supported by IntoUniversity centres (typically students aged 14-18 years) or IntoUniversity Student Associates (IU alumni). The programme offered to students will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Personal statement support
• Mock interview practice
• Student life workshops and webinars
• Subject choice advice
• Research project support
• Subject taster sessions
• Open days and residentials

Eligibility for the role

In order to be eligible for the role, applicants will:

• Have completed an undergraduate degree to a 2.2 or higher.
• Have achieved a grade C or higher in GCSE Maths and English/ achieved National 5s or Standard Grade at Credit level (grades 1-2) in Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Have EITHER a minimum of 18 months full-time paid experience working in a delivery role at IntoUniversity; OR a minimum of 2 years full-time paid or voluntary experience working with children and young people, either at IntoUniversity, or external organisations, or a combination of both. Please note that we will not take part-time, seasonal or ad-hoc work into account when calculating the length of full-time experience.
• Have the right to work in the UK (please note that as a charity we do not have the capacity to sponsor work visas).
• Be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of the Oxbridge application and admissions process and how to translate this into engaging, differentiated and age-appropriate materials, programmes and content.
• Be able to apply knowledge of H.E. and the Oxbridge college system, to help young people decide about their futures; and have knowledge of national developments in H.E. and their impact on young people traditionally underrepresented in H.E.
• Have experience of confidently liaising with a variety of stakeholders, for example: head teachers, funders, universities

What could my day look like?

The Education Worker role is a frontline, fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same. A typical day will have different activities, possibly spread between the IntoUniversity centre, partner schools and the offices of a corporate partner.

In the morning, you might be setting off with resources to run a workshop for sixth-form students in their secondary school. In the afternoon you may be setting up the classroom ahead of running Primary Academic Support for young people in your IntoUniversity centre. On other days, you may be travelling to a corporate partner to run a business simulation workshop for 15 year-olds or leading a group of final year primary school students on a campus visit for their graduation.

XLP’s nationally recognised Mentoring Programme has been transforming lives across nine London boroughs. The programme focusses on supporting young people aged 11 - 18 who are at risk of school exclusion, involvement in crime, or social isolation. Through consistent, positive relationships, we help them build confidence, make positive choices and see a hopeful future.

We’re now looking for a Mentoring Specialist to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for recruiting, training and supervising volunteer mentors from the local community. These mentors commit to meeting their mentees face-to-face for 1 - 2 hours each week over a minimum of 12 months.

Anaphylaxis UK is the UK’s leading charity supporting individuals, families and carers living with serious allergies and anaphylaxis. For over 30 years we have provided evidence-based information, training and advocacy to improve safety, inclusion and quality of life for people at risk of severe allergic reactions. Our services include a dedicated helpline, the AllergyWise® training portfolio (including the Safer Schools Programme), accredited factsheets, an expanding digital offer and partnerships with healthcare, research and industry partners. We champion research, influence policy and work directly with schools, businesses and healthcare settings to reduce risk and anxiety for people with allergies.

The Role

As Chief Executive Officer you will be the senior officer responsible for the strategic leadership, operational management, financial stewardship and external representation of Anaphylaxis UK. You will lead delivery of the charity’s strategic ambitions, grow and diversify income, and work collaboratively with a committed small staff team and an active Board of Trustees.

Key details

• Job title: Chief Executive Officer

• Salary: £70,000–£75,000 per annum

• Contract: Permanent, full-time (35 hours per week)

• Location: Hybrid - home based with regular in-person staff and Board meetings (including an average of one weekly meeting with third-party agents in central London); travel across the UK as required.

• Hours / working pattern: Hybrid working with regular face-to-face commitments and attendance at relevant UK conferences.

As our next CEO, you will demonstrate:
