We’re looking for creative and collaborative volunteers to bring content ideas to life and prepare materials for events, helping BCWA engage with local communities and organisations. If you are enthusiastic about trends, are looking for opportunities to curate ideas with diverse teams and are a strong communicator who wants to help survivors, we’d love to have you on board as a Social Media Volunteer!

Social Media Volunteers volunteer alongside our Communications Officer, creating content that ensures information about the services Black Country Women’s Aid provide is widely available across communities. They help people connect with us online and learn more about how we help survivors cope and recover, alongside creating content and materials that educate people on challenging abuse and violence. Social Media Volunteers help BCWA further engage with the community and other sector partners. They collaborate with BCWA Service Managers and different teams to build content that effectively promotes services, events or fundraising drives. They think creatively, contributing their own ideas for content and bringing these to life.

Being a Social Media Volunteer might look like:

• Collaborating with BCWA staff to create content for BCWA communications
• Preparing materials for events, like leaflets and posters and keeping these organised
• Researching community groups, local organisations and other agencies for engagement
• Liaising with the Communications Officer to bring new content ideas to life
• Engaging with BCWA teams to promote events or fundraising drives
• Being an advocate for BCWA!

As a BCWA Social Media Volunteer, you’ll get:

• All the training you need to understand and be prepared for your role with us, so you can use your time with us to grow and learn!
• Regular check-ins and contact with our Volunteer Coordinator as an opportunity to catch up, reflect and feedback on your volunteering experience with us.

• Your travel to and from sessions expensed. Lunch paid for if you volunteer for 6 hours or more.

If offered a volunteer role, we will seek 2 references. Ideally, one of these should be your current or last employer, however we understand this isn’t always possible. We ask that one of your referees has known you at least a year.

• a professional from your centre of study, for instance a teacher, lecturer or headteacher
• GP or health visitor
• a character reference from a person who knows you (no familial relations or partners)
• a civil servant from a government agency

SUNSHINE Charity

C.A.S.P urgently requires additional support to help secure funding that will enable the charity to continue operating and delivering essential services to children and families in need.

We are looking for enthusiastic Volunteer Fundraisers / Bid Writers to support the CEO in identifying funding opportunities and preparing high-quality grant applications to Trusts, Foundations, and other funding bodies. Volunteers will also work collaboratively with our senior management team to help develop and implement a robust fundraising strategy and support community fundraising initiatives.

Purpose of the Role

C.A.S.P urgently requires additional support to help secure funding that will enable the charity to continue operating and delivering essential services to children and families in need.

We are looking for enthusiastic Volunteer Fundraisers / Bid Writers to support the CEO in identifying funding opportunities and preparing high-quality grant applications to Trusts, Foundations, and other funding bodies. Volunteers will also work collaboratively with our senior management team to help develop and implement a robust fundraising strategy and support community fundraising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify suitable funding opportunities, grants, trusts, foundations, and institutional funders.
• Prepare and submit compelling funding applications, bids, and proposals.
• Support the development of a diverse and sustainable fundraising portfolio.
• Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers within the Fundraising Working Group.
• Assist with planning and delivering fundraising activities and events to generate additional income for the charity.
• Maintain and update fundraising databases and records accurately.
• Help improve organisational cash flow through successful income generation initiatives.
• Contribute ideas and strategies to strengthen long-term fundraising sustainability.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for individuals who are:

• Passionate about supporting children, families, and the local community.
• Interested in developing knowledge across a range of fundraising areas.
• Strong analytical thinkers with good research skills.
• Confident communicators with excellent written and verbal English skills.

About The Stray Cat Charity (TSCC)

The Stray Cat Charity is a newly established UK-registered CIO working to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome stray cats in Greece, starting in Patras. Our current priority campaign is to raise £35,000 to build a dedicated stray cat shelter in Patras, Greece, which will provide safe housing, veterinary care, and a pathway to adoption for vulnerable cats. As a growing new charity, we are building our fundraising and outreach network across the UK.

Role Purpose

We are looking for a motivated volunteer to support the growth of our charity by helping identify and connect with potential supporters in their local area. This includes community groups, schools, corporates, and potential major donors who may be interested in supporting or fundraising for stray cats in Greece. The aim of this role is to help generate awareness, build relationships, and support fundraising activity for our current and future campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

The volunteer may support with:

• Researching local community groups, schools, faith groups, and businesses
• Identifying potential corporate partners and supporters in their region
• Contacting organisations to introduce The Stray Cat Charity and its mission
• Encouraging groups to support the charity through donations or fundraising
• Promoting our current campaign to raise £35,000 for a stray cat shelter in Patras, Greece
• Supporting or initiating community fundraising activities where appropriate (e.g. sponsored events, school fundraisers, awareness campaigns)
• Helping to raise awareness of stray cat welfare issues in Greece through local outreach

Fundraising Options

Volunteers may either:

Impact of This Role

Your work will directly contribute to raising vital funds to build a safe shelter in Patras, Greece, improving the lives of stray cats and creating long-term sustainable welfare solutions.

Trustee Opportunities

Hodan  is a small but long-established voluntary organisation in North Kensington, focusing on advice, support and wellbeing for the Somali community and other racially minoritised groups in West London. It is a registered charity operated as a company limited by guarantee.

We are looking for two new Trustees who can help us increase our reach, attract new funding, and continue to develop our services. We are particularly keen to recruit members of the local community in West London who have one or more of the following:

· Lived experience of issues faced by our service users, e.g., economic disadvantage, unemployment or unstable employment, migration, racism / discrimination, digital exclusion, and/or social isolation

· Experience in marketing, PR, or event management

· Experience in fundraising, especially non-grant approaches (e.g., corporate social responsibility, individual philanthropy, or building a supporter base)

· Experience of working with children and young people from racially minoritised backgrounds and/or in disadvantaged neighbourhoods.

· Experience in charity leadership and governance

Board meetings are held every three months at Canalside House, Ladbroke Grove. The Board is responsible for setting the strategy and policies of Hodan, and guides and supports the Executive Director and staff.

• Work closely with the CEO, trustees, and volunteers to ensure our message is consistent, compassionate, and compelling
