Job description

Join the Lyonic Scots as Our Honourary Treasurer!

A rare chance to help steward the legacy of a Scottish Clan Society — from anywhere in the UK.

Are you someone who loves heritage, values community, and has a steady hand with numbers?

The Lyonic Scots are seeking a dedicated Honourary Treasurer to help guide our society’s financial wellbeing and support our mission to preserve and celebrate the proud history of Clan Lyonic Scots.

This is more than a volunteer role — it’s a chance to become part of a living tradition.

Why This Role Matters

As Honourary Treasurer, you’ll play a key part in ensuring the society thrives for future generations. You’ll help us manage our finances responsibly, support our events and initiatives, and keep our members connected to their shared heritage.

What You’ll Do (4–6 hours per month)

  • Oversee and record the society’s financial transactions.

  • Prepare simple financial updates for the committee.

  • Support budgeting for events and projects.

  • Liaise with our UK bank (must be UK‑based for this reason).

  • Help ensure the society remains financially healthy and transparent.

This is a remote role, flexible around your schedule, and perfect for someone who wants to contribute meaningfully without a heavy time commitment.

What You Bring

  • A reliable, organised approach.

  • Basic financial or bookkeeping confidence.

  • Integrity and a sense of stewardship.

  • A passion for Scottish heritage (or a willingness to learn!).

  • Must be located in the UK.

What You’ll Gain

  • A respected position within a historic Scottish Clan Society.

  • A warm, welcoming community.

  • The satisfaction of helping preserve a unique cultural legacy.

  • Experience in charity/heritage financial management.

Ready to take your place in the story of the Lyonic Scots?

Step forward and help us safeguard our heritage.
