Campaign fundraising manager volunteer roles

Would you like to join our Board of  Trustees of Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust?

This year we are looking for three people to join our Board of Trustees at our AGM in October 26.

Trustees of the Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust (SRWT) are volunteers who together lead the organisation in the planning, resourcing and delivery of its activities, so that it can achieve its charitable objectives.  An enthusiastic, committed and active Board of Trustees, with a good range of knowledge, skills, experience and personal qualities is vital to the healthy and effective running of the organisation.

The Board of Trustees:

• lead the strategic development and planning of the Trust

• develop and adopt appropriate policies

• aim to ensure that the Trust is legally compliant and works to best practice wherever possible

• supports, guides and advises the Trust’s staff and volunteers, especially the CEO and the Executive Team

This year, we are especially keen to hear from people who:

Have expertise, knowledge and experience in one or more of the of the following areas:

• Marketing

• Commercial management, business acumen, profit for purpose experience (with reference to our consultancy)

• Green finance.

• Enterprise development

• Income generation

• Legal experience

• Health, Safety and safeguarding policy and compliance

• Have a good knowledge of communities and/or natural environment in Rotherham

• Can represent more of our diverse community in Sheffield & Rotherham

We are also recruiting for a Trustee to be our Treasurer who will have:

• Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT)

• Ability to analyse proposals and understand financial consequences

• Understanding of financial risk

Skills & Experience

Trustees should demonstrate some or all of the following:

• Passion for nature

• Interest in and enthusiasm for the work of the Wildlife Trust

• Experience of working as part of a decision-making group, board or committee either in a business or voluntary environment

• Experience or knowledge of the legal requirements of a charity

• Local knowledge of the places in which the Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust operates

• Experience of financial management and budgeting in a business or voluntary environment

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!

You can expect us to

• support you in having a positive and impactful experience at Cats Protection
• cover agreed out-of-pocket expenses in line with our Expenses Policy

What we need from you

You’ll be:

· help set up and/or man stalls at events

· help on collection days like supermarket collections events or street collections

· help at fundraising events such as quiz nights, cake sales and dances

· promoting a professional image of Cats Protection at events

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

The Role 

We are seeking a proactive, confident, and relationship driven Volunteer Partnerships & Growth Manager to identify, approach, and onboard affiliate partners, collaborators, agents, and other supporters who can help expand the reach of the platform. 

This role focuses on building a strong network of individuals and organisations who can introduce creators, promote campaigns, or otherwise support the growth of Influential Stars.

Key Responsibilities 

⭑ Identify and approach potential affiliate partners, collaborators, agents, and networks 

⭑ Introduce individuals and organisations to the platform and explain how they can get involved 

⭑ Support onboarding of new collaborators and affiliates ⭑ Build and maintain positive relationships with partners and introducers 

⭑ Encourage ongoing engagement and participation 

⭑ Maintain regular communication to nurture long term partnerships ⭑ Coordinate with internal team members to ensure smooth onboarding 

⭑ Provide clear information about roles, expectations, and opportunities 

⭑ Maintain accurate records of outreach and partnerships using our CRM management system

Skills and Experience Required 

Essential: 

⭑ Experience in outreach, partnerships, business development, or relationship building 

⭑ Excellent customer service skills 

⭑ Outstanding written and verbal communication skills ⭑ Confidence communicating by phone, email, and online platforms ⭑ Strong networking ability and proactive approach 

⭑ Strong IT skills, including confident use of computer databases and standard office software (e.g. Word, Excel) 

⭑ Experience using a CRM or similar database system ⭑ Highly organised with strong attention to detail 

⭑ Ability to work independently and manage multiple contacts ⭑ Professional, reliable, and personable manner

Desirable: 

⭑ Familiarity with HubSpot CRM (preferred but not essential as training will be provided)

About You

·You may come from a charity fundraising, business development, partnerships, sales, account management, corporate relationship management or marketing background.

·A proven ability to generate income, win new business, secure funding or develop strategic partnerships.

Aim of this role
Research and Campaigns volunteers support our work to change the policies and practice that affect the lives of our clients.

As an R&C volunteer, you will be a part of the R&C team. You will:

• complete an induction to Citizens Advice and training for your role

• keep up-to-date with trends of the concerns affecting clients locally as well as areas identified by national Citizens Advice, and raise call for evidence

• research and gather quality information on key issues affecting local residents

• ensure all volunteers/staff are aware of the purpose of Research and Campaigns and how to write evidence forms

• produce useful, appealing and easily accessible campaign materials and publications for information purposes

• feed back to assessors and advisers on the results of their work and provide them with assistance in completing evidence forms

• help national Citizens Advice to carry out research about how certain issues affect clients in your local area

• gather case studies and client stories

• ensure that equality, diversity and inclusion are promoted in our R&C work

• adhere to Citizens Advice Merton and Lambeth’s (CAML) aims and principles

• comply with all relevant GDPR rules and regulations

Locations

This role is based in our Mitcham office with some occasional traveling to our other offices in Morden and Kennington. All three offices are well-connected to public transport, and the office in Mitcham has a car park.

We will reimburse all reasonable out of pocket travel and lunch expenses.

What we are looking for

• excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential

• understanding of the importance of Research and Campaigns work in identifying key current social issues, and their potential impact on clients

• the ability to build and maintain professional relationships and contribute constructively as part of the R&C team, as well as wider CAML team

• the ability to give feedback clearly and sensitively

• good report-writing skills with the ability to condense important information and explain to a range of audiences. Able to research, analyse and explain complex information

• good organisational and time management skills with the ability to work towards set deadlines

• ability to work on own initiative, within given guidelines

• confidence in using a range of IT software to research and analyse data

Satisfactory references are required before joining the charity.

Commitment
We are looking for volunteers who are able come to our office for at least one day per week.

Fundraising is at the heart of this role and is driven by your own ideas, local connections, and enthusiasm. Whether it's organising a community event, engaging local businesses, securing donations, or encouraging others to get involved, you'll help generate the funds needed to grant wishes. We'll provide guidance, resources, and support along the way. 

How You'll Get Started 

Getting started as a Community Wish Maker is simple. Within your first few months, you'll choose a fundraising activity from our Community Fundraising Toolkit or create your own fundraising idea. 

You can: 

- Organise an activity independently 
- Fundraise with friends, family or colleagues 
- Team up with other local Community Wish Makers 
- Support an existing Make-A-Wish fundraising campaign or event 
- Whether it's a bake sale, quiz night, sponsored challenge, workplace fundraiser, school activity or local business partnership, you'll be helping raise the funds needed to grant more wishes

We'll provide resources, guidance and support to help you succeed. 

What We're Looking For 

You don't need fundraising experience—just enthusiasm, initiative, and a desire to make a difference. 

We're looking for people who are: 

- Confident building relationships and engaging others 
- Self-motivated and proactive 
- Creative in finding fundraising opportunities 
- Organised and reliable 
- Positive, enthusiastic, and passionate about helping others 

What we will do for you: 

- You will receive a 12 week induction training
- Community Fundraising Volunteer Toolkit to help you get started 
- A one-to-one introductory phone call with a member of our team 
- Materials to get you started in your role 
- A dedicated Volunteer manager 
- Access to connections & networks in your region 
- Make-A-Wish email address / ID Badge / Letter of Authority to help with your fundraising
- Help & support you with ideas and steward you as much as you would like
- Regular volunteer newsletters with updates, opportunities, and useful information
