What we need from you

Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. What can you expect to be doing?

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following:

• face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with fundraising events, attending supermarket collections and monitoring collection boxes.

Support, guidance and keeping you safe

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

The well being of our people is important and at Cats Protection we are committed to safeguarding children, adults at risk and all those that we encounter as part of our activities.

The Fundraising Officer is responsible for generating vital income for Make a Smile. You’ll proactively identify and organise fundraising opportunities, complete the required paperwork, and ensure events run smoothly. Working closely with the Treasurer and committee, you’ll develop an annual fundraising plan, support local fundraisers, and build relationships with supermarkets and other organisations. The role is hands-on, creative, and key to helping the chapter meet its fundraising goals and maximise its impact.

Are you a natural organiser who loves bringing people together for a good cause? As a Fundraising Group Leader at Canine Partners, you’ll lead a team of local volunteers to plan and deliver fun, impactful fundraising events in your community. From coffee mornings to dog shows, you’ll help shape the group’s activities, run monthly meetings, and keep everything running smoothly.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who is confident, friendly, and ready to make a difference. You’ll be the key link between your group and the Canine Partners fundraising team and will be supported every step of the way with training, resources, and expert guidance.

About the opportunity

This role involves taking on the responsibility for leading a group of fellow volunteers to arrange fundraising events in your local community. You would host regular group meetings to discuss upcoming activities and ensure plans are in place for events throughout the year.

We request that there should be a minimum requirement of one meeting per month, as well as additional planning and activity when required. However, the amount of time you commit depends on the nature of the activities held by the group.

What’s involved

• Leading a group of volunteers to organise fundraising events and activities to raise money for Canine Partners
• Ensuring the group is following the guidelines outlined in the Fundraising Group Handbook
• Being the main point of contact between the Fundraising Group and your Canine Partners Staff Contact
• Being the public face of Canine Partners within your local area

•  Excellent record keeping skills

We are seeking someone with understanding or experience of community and grant fundraising to join our board. The role involves leading our fundraising sub committee and providing a sounding board for our fundraising manager to deliver our fundraising strategy. 

What will you be doing?

Specific to the fundraising lead trustee role, your responsibilities will be to:

• Lead the fundraising sub committee.
• Work alongside the board to plan what level of funds must be raised to ensure the effective running of the charity.
• Be a sounding board for, and provide oversight of our fundraising manager.
• Lead on the board’s direct engagement with local fund-raising opportunities.
• Provide feedback to the fundraising manager. 

What are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate would demonstrate: 

• An understanding of, and commitment to, the work of the Glasgow South West Foodbank.
• Understanding of, and passion for, fundraising.
• An ability to use that understanding to lead the fundraising sub committee and engage with the fundraising manager in a supportive and confident manner.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Team up with fellow volunteers in our North Northumberland and Scottish Borders Fundraising Group to help plan and deliver exciting local events that help raise vital funds for amazing assistance dogs. You’ll meet monthly, share ideas, plan activities, and be the friendly face of Canine Partners in your community.

About the opportunity

This role involves being an active member of the North Northumberland and Scottish Borders Fundraising Group, working alongside fellow volunteers to arrange fundraising events in the local community. You would attend regular group meetings in Milfield to discuss upcoming activities and ensure plans are in place for events throughout the year.

• Work with your fellow group volunteers to organise fundraising events and activities to raise money for Canine Partners
