About the role
As our monday.com Training & Systems Volunteer, you'll help our Marketing, Communications and Fundraising team get the most from the project management platform at the heart of how we work. You'll assess current knowledge and confidence levels, then design and deliver practical, engaging training that builds real capability — from first-time users to those ready to go deeper. You'll also create simple, clear reference materials that people can return to independently, respond to ad hoc queries, and keep everything up to date as monday.com is implemented. By making technology feel approachable, you'll free up our team to focus on what matters most: helping millions of separated children get Back to Family.
 
About you
We're looking for a volunteer with confident, hands-on knowledge of monday.com (day-to-day use and administration experience are both welcome), alongside experience delivering training or coaching in a workplace setting, whether formal or informal. You'll be able to explain technical concepts clearly and patiently to people with varying levels of confidence, and you'll bring a warm, encouraging style to every interaction. You'll be self-motivated and comfortable working independently with light-touch coordination from the team. Familiarity with monday.com automations and integrations, or experience with charity or NGO operations, would be a bonus, but neither is essential. Most importantly, you'll share our belief that every child belongs in a family, and you'll be excited to play your part in making that happen.
 
About Hope and Homes for Children
Orphanages don't protect children, they harm them. Put simply: the last thing an orphanage can provide is the first thing a child needs - someone to love them. Science shows what we all know, that the bond between a child and their family is vital for their development. Decades of evidence proves that orphanages harm children, subjecting them to high levels of abuse and extreme neglect. Today, over 5.4 million children are confined to orphanages worldwide, and more than 80% of them are not orphans at all. Children always belong in families. They need protection, encouragement, play, laughter and love. They need somewhere to call home and someone to love them. You can help us make this a reality for children.
 
Time commitment: Flexible: estimated 3–4 days per month initially, reducing to ad hoc as staff become more confident. Minimum commitment of 6 months.
 
Location: Remote/hybrid - training delivered online via video call, with optional in-person sessions. Access to a PC/laptop and internet connection is required.
 
Expenses: Reasonable expenses reimbursed.

We are looking for our next Chair of Trustees – someone who will work closely with our Executive Team and Board to guide the organisation through what is both a challenging and genuinely exciting time. The funding environment is tough. The political context is difficult. And yet the need for what we do has never been greater.

This is an unpaid voluntary role. Reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with our Volunteer Expenses Policy.

The successful candidate will lead a vibrant, well-established, national charity as it navigates the next chapter of its story.

Main tasks

• Developing and setting our future strategy, alongside the Executive Team and other Trustees
• Helping shape and deliver our future, identifying opportunities in an evolving landscape
• Leading the Board of Trustees, including regular 1:1s and providing space for reflection
• Acting as a 'critical friend' to our Executive Team, as well as formal line management to the CEO (and COO in their absence)
• Acting as an ambassador for the charity – raising awareness of what we do and engaging potential supporters and other key stakeholders
• Responsibility, along with the other trustees, for the governance of the charity
• Contributing to the ongoing strategy of the charity, in line with our charitable objectives
• Participating in board meetings and sub-committees in an inclusive and thoughtful way

We’re looking for a friendly, organised person to become our Walk Leader Coordinator — someone who enjoys supporting others, keeping things running smoothly, and helping volunteers feel valued and confident in their role.

You’ll be the go-to person for our walk leaders.

What you’ll do

• Be a point of contact for walk leaders across our groups
• Help schedule and onboard new walk leaders
• Share updates, check in regularly, and make sure each group feels supported
• Keep basic records of who’s leading which walk and when
• Flag anything that needs attention to the Project Lead
• Bring ideas on how to strengthen volunteer engagement and community

Purpose of the Role

To join the board as a Volunteer Finanical Director, bringing governance knowledge and strategic thinking to strengthen board effectiveness, uphold the CIC's obligations, and ensure all decisions are made in the best interests of the community we serve.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Guide the Board

• Attend two to three board meetings per month, virtual or hybrid, and come prepared to contribute
• Help ensure decisions are made properly, recorded, and followed through
• Review and respond to decisions outside of meetings within 48 to 72 hours
• Support the review of policies and raise questions when something needs attention
• Support the development of projects and programmes by contributing ideas, strategic thinking, critical insight, and creative, innovative approaches, while bringing energy, boldness, and enthusiasm.

2. Keep Us on Track

• Contribute to strategic decision-making, policy approval, and organisational oversight
• Monitor organisational performance and support the Managing Director in delivery accountability
• Flag risks early and help ensure resources are used well and in line with our mission
• Keep the needs of the communities we serve at the centre of every decision

3. Be a Critical Friend

• Challenge and support the Managing Director with honesty and care
• Ask the questions that need to be asked, even when it is uncomfortable
• Help us grow in a way that is sustainable and grounded in our values

4. Champion What Matters

• Be an ambassador for Zion Wellness in how you show up and speak about us
• Participate in bi-directional mentorship exchanges with young people on the programme
• Ensure safeguarding, inclusion, and community interest are never an afterthought

What We Are Looking For

You will bring:

• A strong professional background in finance, budgeting, and strategic financial planning
• Confident, values-led leadership with the ability to represent the CIC's mission at board level
• A background in leadership, social impact, or community outreach
• Experience in creative direction, entrepreneurship, or project leadership
• Understanding of organisational strategy, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development
• A genuine commitment to systemic change and the communities we serve

It would be great if you also have:

• Governance experience such as trustee, governor, or board-level involvement, though this is not essential
• Experience in a charity, CIC, or grassroots organisation
• Training and induction will be provided for the right candidate

As our Marketing & Communications Lead, you will become the architect of the Clan’s public voice — crafting the stories, campaigns, and messages that inspire people to join, engage, and belong.

You will:

• Develop and lead our marketing and communications strategy

• Shape the Clan’s tone, voice, and storytelling across all platforms

• Oversee social media content, engagement, and community growth

• Create compelling campaigns that attract new members and volunteers

• Support recruitment drives, cultural initiatives, and Clan events

• Collaborate with our Graphic Designer and Council to build a unified brand

• Ensure consistent, inspiring messaging across all channels

Your leadership will help the Lyonic Scots be seen, heard, and remembered.
