What we need from you

This is a highly flexible role, and you can choose how you’d like to get involved. Opportunities include:

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping at fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, and monitoring collection tins
• Online fundraising – setting up online appeals and writing engaging cat case studies to maximise donations
• Marketing and promotion – spreading the word about fundraising activities via social media and local press
• Administration – processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, and completing Gift Aid paperwork

Mulberry Cancer Support, is looking for new volunteers with flexible availability to help us set up and run our stall at a variety of fun community fundraising & enagement events, mainly in West London - Hounslow, Richmond & Ealing areas - and occasionally at our Centre in Isleworth. Come and sell rafle tickets, inspire donations, hold a collection bucket, give out leaflets and engage with the public at our own events and at fetes, fairs and stadium days.

Volunteers must be age 18+. Most events take place March - July and October - December.

About the role

We are currently advertising for a Chair of Medaille Trust. The Chair will ensure the Charity is well-managed and governed, strategically focused, legally compliant, and accountable, whilst also supporting the board and management to achieve the Charity’s mission.

Key responsibilities:

• Leadership and Governance: The chairperson leads the board of trustees and line manages the Chief Executive Officer, ensuring that the Charity operates in line with its governing document, legal requirements, and charitable objectives. They help the board focus on strategic matters rather than day-to-day operations while maintaining oversight.

• Strategic Oversight: The chair ensures the board has regular access to information from the CEO and other key staff, to enable it to make key strategic decisions in the Charity’s best interests, including financial planning, resource management, and long-term goal setting. They help the board distinguish between operational issues and governance matters, keeping the focus on the bigger picture while ensuring they are aware of any risks or complaints the Trust and its management may face.

• Board Coordination and Development: The chair coordinates board activities, works with the secretary to set agendas, chairs meetings, and fosters a positive board culture. They lead trustee recruitment, succession planning, and ensure the board has the necessary skills and diversity to function effectively.

• Policy and Compliance: The chair ensures that appropriate policies and procedures are in place, that the Charity complies with relevant laws, and that reporting and accountability mechanisms are followed. They oversee delegations of authority to staff or committees and ensure these are documented and regularly reviewed.

• Representation and Advocacy: Acting as a figurehead, the chair represents the Charity externally, communicates with religious and other partners, and may on occasion, act as a spokesperson for the organisation.

• Support and Liaison: The chair often serves as a link between the board and the Charity’s CEO, setting objectives, holding regular meetings, questioning, conducting appraisals and providing guidance and support while respecting operational boundaries.

• Safeguarding: The Trust will respond to all safeguarding concerns or allegations that come to its attention. It does this through the implementation of its policies, practices and code of conduct. The Trustees are committed to ensuring this commitment is and remains at the centre of all the Trust’s work.

Location: Board meetings are held in London and occasional visits to Safe Houses across England

Time Commitment: Four Board meetings per year, regular meetings with the CEO, occasional 1:1 meetings with individual Trustees and representing the Charity at various events

Medaille Trust is one of the leading providers of support to survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking in the UK. We are working to provide refuge and freedom for survivors and fighting to see slavery in all its forms become a thing of the past. The need for this work has never been higher, there are more than 50 million estimated victims of modern slavery worldwide, and over 120,000 potential victims in the UK. Camphill Devon is a long-established charity providing supported living, residential care and meaningful community for adults with learning disabilities. Camphill Devon is looking for six new trustees to provide strategic and inspirational leadership to the charity. The charity is seeking applicants with experience and/or skills in the following areas:

• Care Committee – 2 Trustees . Candidates should have a background in adult social care, supported living, or learning disability services, with knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding frameworks, and care quality governance.
• Finance Committee – 2 Trustees (one of whom will Chair the Finance Committee). Candidates should have professional experience in finance, accountancy, or audit. At least one of the two should have demonstrable risk management expertise, including risk frameworks and internal controls.
• Workforce Committee – 1 Trustee . Candidates should have a background in HR, workforce planning, or organisational development, with experience in a regulated or care sector environment preferable.
• Estates Committee – 1 Trustee . Candidates should have professional expertise in estates management, facilities, construction, surveying, or asset management, with working knowledge of statutory health and safety compliance.

Wintercomfort is an advice and support hub for homeless and vulnerably housed people in Cambridge.  Open daily throughout the year, we provide services to aid every stage of recovery – from immediate basic welfare needs to long-term support to help people overcome challenges and fulfil their potential.  We offer housing and tenancy support, debt advice, support with training and employment, access to a range of mental and physical health services, a dedicated women’s programme, and work to promote social inclusion.

We are looking for people to join an experienced and passionate Board of Trustees who work collaboratively in providing strategic oversight and governance of Wintercomfort, to ensure its financial stability and that it achieves its mission.  No prior experience of the charity sector is required.  Induction and training is provided for all new Trustees.

What does the role involve?

The Dementia Wellbeing Service provides practical and emotional support ​to help older people live independently and safely at home for as long as possible, stay socially engaged and carry on doing what they love. The service supports Camden residents over the age of 55 in the early or moderate stages of dementia.

You will work one-to-one with people in their own home and in the community, providing invaluable practical and emotional support and engaging the person in activities and opportunities that interest them through their wellbeing plan.

• Responsible for the receipt, management, control and coordination of all external and internal information and documentation with respect to the enquiry and for the team acting as custodian for Bid documents, including all approved internal documentation signed by the Organisation.
• Responsible for compliance with all internal Bid policies and procedures and for passing internal and external audits.
• Contribute to the overall Bid strategy alongside other stakeholders.
