Content Creator and Storyteller

Coastruction is looking for a flexible individial who would be willing to take initiative to lead our social media, content creation and story telling narrative.

Your role:
- Grow and manage social platforms
- Create content from existing media and new media 
- Manage what kind of content is created 
- Help design our brand on social media 
- Collaborate on growth ideas and campaigns 

We're looking for someone who:
- Is experienced with content creation, storytelling, photography, and videography. Graphic design is also highly preferred 
- Is creative and full of ideas of how to bring things to life 
- Can cater to and create the content styles of Instagram, LinkedIn and newsletters
- Can shoot and edit content 
- Understands content KPIs and how to act on them

This is a role that may require a bit more hours at the start for the initial creation of content and determination of the direction. 

Minimum Hours per Week:

7-9 hours per week

We are looking for a content creator to advance our reach and engagement on X was Twitter. The charity operates under a social media policy that will be shared with the successful candidate and all content will be required to fall within those ethical guidelines. The role will include content creation based around the activity of the charity and brainstorming ideas for new content and ways to extend reach of all posts. Come and join a friendly fun team creating content for our other platforms and help rescue and rehome dogs in need.

• Support the creation of blogs, short videos, or graphics (Canva or similar)
• Creating or refreshing website content, ensuring it aligns with our tone and mission
• Collaborate with our team to share real stories, testimonials, and resources (with consent)
• Monitor engagement and adapt content to help reach wider audiences

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

• Has experience or strong interest in content creation
• Understands how to handle sensitive topics (e.g., trauma, grief) with care
• Is a thoughtful communicator and a strong storyteller (written and/or visual)
• Is comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines
• Has experience with Canva, social media scheduling tools, or basic video editing (a bonus, not essential)

• Monitor Discord channels to ensure conversations remain respectful, safe, and aligned with community guidelines.

What will you be doing?

You should be an experienced and talented video editor/content creator.

The editor will

• Create short intro and ending animations/transitions for the festival's SM, SM ads and screenings
• Edit the interviews (Zoom/Teams) and additional footage/still to create social media ready files for YT, LI, FB, TW and IG
• Add subtitles and captions as needed for the videos

You would need to have your own professional equipment and software and a camera and lights (if you are also a videographer - preferred, not mandatory)

Over 85% of people in the UK and even more, globally, are unaware of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) let alone take any steps to create a more sustainable world for themselves and in the process for others in this complexly interconnected world.

This highlights the need for such initiatives to educate the British as well as global societies about the UN SDGs. Your contributions can educate and inspire millions to act on the SDGs and bring positive changes that will impact all of us in this complexly interconnected world.

Most importantly your efforts will ensure that both individuals and organisations who see your videos and listen to the podcasts can come together and join forces to work in synergy, thus, benefitting more lives than acting alone.

About the Role 

We are Buttons & Bubbles C.I.C. We aim to increase inclusion and representation for the disabled community across society. We have several different services including bespoke characters, workshops, free resources, events, sensory trails and more. 

As we continue to grow, we are on a mission to make finding and accessing information around everything to do with disability easier. Hence, we're putting together a brand-new team of volunteers who are passionate about content and using the power of social media for good

Who Are We Looking For?

·Someone who is passionate about our mission of inclusion, representation, and belonging.

·Having social media skills is helpful, but enthusiasm for creating and editing content, building online communities, and supporting our digital presence is essential.

·You should enjoy research, taking on challenges, and bringing a creative mindset to your work.

·Be willing to learn or have knowledge of editing and posting videos.

·Be able to support our online initiatives while collaborating with our team.

What Do We Expect?

·Must be willing to undertake our training programme, which will be completed virtually at a time that suits you.

·Have a DBS check (preferably be on the update service) or be willing to complete one with us.

·Sign our volunteer contract. (If you disagree with anything in it, please discuss it with us; we’re happy to make small changes where appropriate.)

·Have a positive attitude toward disability and illness.
