About the role:

As a community champion volunteer you’ll be supporting Sense’s fundraising team, playing a vital role in helping Sense to raise funds and awareness to support people with complex disabilities. 

You’ll engage with individuals, local businesses, and regional press to share our mission, organise events, and inspire others to take action. Whether you’re great at planning events, researching opportunities or connecting with your community, this role has something for you.  

This is a flexible role, with the opportunity to volunteer either virtually or in your local community. We are looking for volunteers able to offer a minimum commitment of 2 hours per month. 

We’re looking for people who are passionate about Sense’s work to support disabled people with complex needs and who have a calm, kind and friendly personality.

Please note that you will not be providing care for the people Sense supports as part of this role.

Due to the nature of the volunteer role, we cannot accept applications for anyone under the age of 18.

The four areas of the role:

As a Community Champion, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities, organised into four main role categories. You can choose to get involved in one or more of these areas, and we’ll discuss your preferences with you as part of the application process. Please note, we don’t expect volunteers to take on every area. Instead, we’ll focus on what interests you most and shape the role around your strengths and skills.

Event volunteer:

Support Sense’s Community Fundraising team by:

• Organising your own fundraising events in aid of Sense.
• Supporting and participating in fundraising events at your local Sense services, and shops.
• Supporting with fundraising admin, for example sourcing prizes for Sense fundraisers.

Skills needed:

• Creative, with fresh fundraising ideas and enthusiasm.
• Organised, with the ability help co-ordinate multiple aspects of an event.

Local public relations (PR) volunteer:

Boost Sense’s profile in your local community by:

• Writing content for local press releases.
• Building a network of local media contacts.
• Supporting regional output of national campaigns. 

Skills needed:

• Strong written communication
• Able to follow branding and messaging guidelines.
• Self-motivated and proactive in seeking opportunities. 

Fundraising researcher:

Help boost Sense’s regional income by researching available grants, partnerships and other local connections. Responsibilities include:

• Researching local grants and business partnerships.
• Researching networking events.
• Helping us to source prizes for Sense fundraising events.

Skills needed:

• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
• Organised, ensuring new leads are accurately recorded and shared. 

Community connector:

Act as an ambassador for Sense, attending events across your community to thank supporters, and forge new partnerships.

• Attending cheque presentations, thanking our supporters.
• Giving presentations about Sense to local schools and community groups.
• Engaging with local businesses and groups, to forge new relationships for Sense.

Skills needed:

• Strong communication skills and enjoys public speaking opportunities.
• Well-connected in their local area, and love engaging with people.

Hospital Visitor Volunteer

Hospital Visitor volunteers visit hospital settings to ensure that people detained under the Mental Health Act are aware that they have a legal right to an IMHA qualified advocate.  The volunteers are instrumental in ensuring that clients get access to an advocate and can also support the work that advocates undertake. 

As a hospital volunteer, you might:

· hold drop-in sessions

· attend events and ward meetings at local facilities

· share information

· assist people to request advocacy support by completing a form online or calling our contact centre

Support the work of St John Ambulance in your community by volunteering as a Community Volunteer, an exciting new role which is designed to revamp how volunteering looks in the modern world; flexible, innovative and is open for all.

We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference, supporting them to become safe and more resilient. Community Volunteers can choose from a wide selection of activities – including fundraising, talks and demonstrations, supporting at events, volunteer welfare, social media and administration support.

Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives.

Give as much (or little) time as you can afford. With this new role, you simply volunteer when it works for you. That means you can give as much time as you like or as little as 24 hours across a whole year, whenever it suits you. It’s perfect for busy lives, changing schedules, or for anyone seeking a low-commitment involvement. 

We want individuals who are willing to spare to time to help with the wider operation of our network from supporting us in delivering community education, fundraising and admin. This role does not limit you to one area you can become involved in various areas of the network and support with enthusiasm.

Through volunteering as a Community Volunteer, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time.

Once we have completed your selection and screening for this role, we will provide you with an induction, as well as invite you to any necessary training sessions. We believe all dance professionals should be able to lead a fulfilling life in dance safe from hardship.We are looking for new Trustees to help us achieve our aim. 

Who are Dance Professionals Fund? 

Dance Professionals Fund is an award-winning registered CIO providing financial and wellbeing support to dancers, dance teachers and choreographers. Our dedicated services bring together a range of effective ways of supporting dance professionals, including financial grants, signposting to support services, injury rehabilitation, career upskilling support and access to professional counselling. Dance professionals will receive holistic support from us whatever their situation. 

Role Description 

We are seeking trustees to join us from January 2027 for an initial term of three years.We are looking for a range of skills and experience, including: 

• Experience and/or specialism in commercial dance or street dance

• A recreational dance teacher and/or owner of a dance school 

• Background/experience in finance in a senior role or on a charity Board 

• Experience within a benevolent fund as either as staff or trustee

• Background in legal expertise, in a senior role or on a charity Board 

• Strong communication skills, comprehensive networking experience 

We welcome applications from anyone who is passionate about helping the Dance Professionals Fund achieve its objectives. Full trustee training will be provided.  

We encourage applicants from all backgrounds and especially those from Global Majority groups. We are keen to add more voices with lived disability experience to the Board – helping us evolve our aims with all disabilities in mind.

Women on the Frontline Ministries (WOFM) is a registered charity supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse, sexual exploitation through street-based prostitution, trafficking and other vulnerabilities. We offer outreach, a weekly drop-in, casework and relationship-based support to women who are too often neglected and stigmatised. We are looking for an experienced, motivated volunteer fundraiser to help us grow our income, raise awareness of the women we serve, and make sure this work can continue.

About us

WOFM exists to bring dignity, safety and hope to vulnerable and exploited women in East London. Our work is practical and relational: meeting women where they are, building trust over time, and walking with them towards a more stable future. We are a small, dynamic team making a real and lasting difference and our reach depends on the generosity of those who fund it.

The role

As our Volunteer Fundraiser, you will help shape and deliver our fundraising strategy and turn it into real income. You will be a key part of securing the resources that sustain and grow our frontline support for women. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both planning and doing — and who wants their skills to count for something that matters.

What you'll do

• Help develop and deliver WOFM’s fundraising strategy and annual income goals.

• Research and identify funding opportunities — grants, trusts, foundations, corporate partners and community giving.

• Support the writing and submission of compelling funding applications and proposals.

• Help plan and run fundraising initiatives, appeals and awareness campaigns.

• Build and nurture relationships with donors, supporters and local partners.

• Help raise the profile of WOFM and the plight of the women we serve.

• Work closely with the Board and team to track progress and report on results.

What we're looking for

• Experience in fundraising, bid writing, income generation or a closely related field.

• A genuine passion for our cause and the women at the heart of our work.

• Strong written and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to make the ask.

• A strategic mindset paired with the drive to follow through and get things done.

• Self-motivated, organised and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

• An understanding of, or willingness to work within, a values-led charitable setting.

Practical details

• Type: Voluntary, unpaid with reasonable agreed expenses reimbursed.

• Time commitment: Flexible, approximately 4-8 ours per month, by arrangement.

• Location: Remote, with some involvement in East London by agreement.

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

What we need from you

You’ll be:

· supporting and encouraging a team of fundraising volunteers

· planning fundraising events and activities with your team

· allocating tasks before and during fundraising events

· keeping financial records from fundraising events

· encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection 

· following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.
