We provide advice and support to empower anybody experiencing a mental health problem and we campaign to improve services, raise awareness, and promote understanding.

Our volunteers are a fundamental part of our shops. Any time which they volunteer at our shops, help us be there for more people who are experiencing a mental health problem. 

About the volunteer role

To provide our volunteers with opportunities to gain a variety of skills and experience, we offer them a range of volunteer roles to choose from, which include:

• Stock preparation volunteer
• Volunteer shop sales assistant
• Volunteer stock generation assistant
• Volunteer window dresser/Merchandiser
• Specialist knowledge volunteer (antiques and collectables)
• Specialist knowledge volunteer (books and entertainment)
• Housekeeping volunteer

Key tasks

There is a variety of tasks within the above mentioned roles that our volunteers get involved with, including:

• Welcoming and assisting customers with their purchases, providing them with great customer service and a delightful shopping experience
• Receiving donated items from members of the public
• Sorting, steaming, tagging and preparing donated items for sale
• Creating visually appealing window and in-store displays
• Keeping the shop floor well stocked, clean and coordinated
• Processing sales and serving at the till
• Signing up gift aid donors
• Stock rotation
• Identifying special or valuable items within donated stock

About us

From Friday 28th - Sunday 30th August, enjoy a bank holiday weekend of music, stalls, live performances and carnival rides at Big Church Festival in West Sussex. 

As a Big Church Festival volunteer, you could be sharing about our emergency appeals or asking for kind donations from our festivalgoers.

At this family friendly festival, you will play a huge part in making our presence known and felt.

Experience in sales and customer service as well as a natural passion for Christian Aid's work is desired but training and further information will be provided.

Role Purpose

The ICT Project Manager is responsible for managing key ICT projects to support the college’s organisational objectives. The role will project manage external ICT suppliers and partners. The college’s operational ICT services are in the process of being outsourced so the ICT Project Manager will need to ensure systems remain reliable and secure during the transition project.

Key Responsibilities

 ICT Project Management

• Develop and maintain project plans and schedules.
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed budgets, scope and quality constraints.
• Provide regular progress reporting to senior management and teams.

Supplier Management

• Manage relationships with external ICT suppliers and service providers, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Oversee supplier performance against contracts, addressing issues and evaluating  service provision.
• Ensure suppliers comply with organisational policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.

Operational ICT Oversight

• Provide oversight of transition to outsourcing of day‑to‑day ICT operational services, ensuring systems are stable, resilient, and supported.
• Support incident, problem, and change management processes, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Ensure projects and services comply with information security, data protection, and organisational governance standards.
• Identify, manage, and escalate risks and issues appropriately.
