Previous experience as a charity trustee is welcomed but not essential.

Time Commitment

• Board meetings take place approximately every 6 weeks
• Meetings last approximately 2 hours
• Most meetings alternate between online and in person in Wimbledon
• The role is voluntary and unpaid, although reasonable expenses can be reimbursed

Becky’s Child Foundation is a dynamic non-profit organization  in Uganda committed to uplifting vulnerable communities across society. We work with children, women, youth, families, and marginalized groups through education, healthcare, livelihood support, protection services, and community empowerment programs. Role Overview

We are seeking a creative, passionate, and digitally savvy Social Media Volunteer to amplify our voice online. You will help tell powerful stories, build meaningful connections with supporters, and drive engagement that translates into real-world impact for vulnerable communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage engaging content (images, reels, carousels, stories, and short videos) across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and X (Twitter).
• Grow our online presence, increase followers, and boost community engagement.
• Create monthly content calendars aligned with our programs and fundraising campaigns.
• Identify trending topics and opportunities to raise awareness about vulnerable groups.
• Collaborate with the team to produce authentic, impactful storytelling content (with full consent and safeguarding standards).
• Monitor performance analytics and provide simple monthly reports.
• Support fundraising drives and donor engagement initiatives.

Who We’re Looking For

• Deep passion for social impact and supporting vulnerable communities.
• Proven experience or strong skills in social media management and content creation.
• Excellent writing and communication skills in English (knowledge of other languages is an advantage).
• Proficiency with content tools such as Canva, CapCut, or similar apps.
• Self-motivated, creative, and able to deliver consistently with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of social media best practices, algorithms, and analytics.

REMAP Brighton & Sussex

Are you passionate about using your practical maker/ engineer skills to solve real problems? Do you want to help disabled people live more independently? Join REMAP's volunteer community, the UK’s leading charity to create custom-built equipment for disabled individuals.

About REMAP

Since 1964, REMAP has helped thousands of people each year overcome everyday challenges through innovative, bespoke solutions. When commercial products don’t meet a person’s needs, REMAP volunteers design and make one-off equipment tailored specifically for them. With over 65 volunteer-run branches across the UK, our work is powered by skilled, compassionate volunteers like you.

The Role

As a volunteer Maker/ Engineer with practical skills, you will design and build custom equipment /adaptations using materials such as wood, metal, plastic, or electronics. Previous solutions/adaptations designed by REMAP volunteers have included: adapted handles, specialist supports, modified furniture, access aids and other one-off items designed around a person’s individual needs. You can find more inspiring solutions on REMAP's website on the Solutions section. 

In this role, you will volunteer directly with clients to understand their needs and create anything from simple adaptations to fully bespoke devices. You will also take part in regular branch meetings, case discussions approximately every 6 weeks, and occasional home visits. Each project matches your skills, availability, and location.

Location: 

You should be able and willing to travel within and around at least one of these areas:Littlehampton, Worthing, Brighton, Eastbourne, Bexhill, Hastings, Horsham, and surrounding areas.

What are we looking for:

Time Commitment:

Flexible volunteering with attendance at meetings approximately every 6 weeks. Time varies depending on projects.

All reasonable expenses are reimbursed, full support is provided including induction, mentoring, and DBS checks if required.

Deaf Unity is a deaf-led charity that works to empower deaf individuals. We equip deaf students, jobseekers and professionals with the knowledge, confidence and community to succeed in education and employment.

Working closely with our deaf community, we identify the barriers and inequities that deaf people meet as they move from school into education and employment; seek work; and strive to build successful careers. We work with them and with universities, employers and voluntary sector partners to overcome these barriers through carefully tailored, impactful interventions.

Purpose of the role

To oversee Deaf Unity’s financial operations, ensuring that the charity remains financially viable and complies with Charity Commission regulations and strong accounting practices at all times, The Treasurer will ensure that proper financial records are kept and that the Board of Trustees understands the financial position at all times. 

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the charity’s financial position
• Present budgets, management accounts and financial statements to the Board
• Help trustees understand financial information and advise on financial implications of the charity’s strategic plans
• Support budgeting and financial planning, including developing and implementing financial policies (e.g. reserves and investment policies),
• Ensure proper financial controls are in place and that proper accounting records are kept
• Oversee the preparation of annual accounts
• Ensure compliance with Charity Commission and HMRC regulations (e.g. Gift Aid)

You will work closely with the CEO, Chair, trustees and staff who are managing day-to-day finance and banking and will be required to attend quarterly meetings of the Finance and Risk sub-group of the Board, in addition to the full Board meeting

What is a trustee?

All trustees share responsibility for running the charity.

This includes:

• Attending board meetings, usually 4 times per year.
• Helping make strategic decisions
• Acting in the best interests of the charity and its beneficiaries

Trustee responsibilities are set out by the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

Skills we are looking for

Essential skills:

• Knowledge of bookkeeping and financial management (e.g. use of XERO, SAGE accounting packages)
• Experience of financial reporting, budgeting and risk management
• An understanding of (or willingness to learn about) charity accounting
• Ability to explain financial information clearly
• Good judgement and decision-making skills
• Interest in supporting deaf communities

Desirable:

• Professional accounting qualification
• Previous experience as a trustee or treasurer
• knowledge of, or interest in, the deaf community.
• BSL skills

We are seeking new Trustees to join our Board and contribute their skills and experience. We are particularly looking for applications from parents and carers whose children attend our Camden Square and Fairfield playcentres. 
 
The trustees are responsible for the administration of the charity, and in contributing to strategies that will future-proof the organisation and help to maintain or improve its CQC and Ofsted ratings.

We are seeking organised, reliable, and driven volunteers to support with our person-centred community mental health services. Volunteers will support group activities and sessions, and provide 1-1 support to community members.

Through free, accessible, and local activities, courses, and groups, we support members in building confidence, re-connecting with their communities, and progressing along their own path to wellbeing and recovery. Volunteers are vital to ensuring this support is personal, meaningful, and consistent.

 Community Support

The Community Support Volunteer role is part of Mind in Camden’s wider group services, including the Healthy Minds Community Programme and Phoenix Recovery Service. These services work with adults (18+) living in Camden who may be experiencing mental health challenges, isolation, or social exclusion. 

Healthy Minds is a community programme of free activities such as creative workshops, gentle exercise, walks, cultural trips, and social drop-ins. The programme aims to tackle social isolation by allowing members to build confidence and community through connection and shared interest. 

Phoenix Recovery Service is a day service supporting members’ mental health recovery who may have complex or long-term challenges.  The service is delivered in partnership with Camden Council and runs on a Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday at Mind in Camden. This is a relaxed social space where members chat, have lunch, and can get 1-1 support from staff and volunteers. 

All volunteers who apply must be willing to:

• Undergo a DBS check
• Attend a mandatory two day in person training on Monday 21st and Wednesday 23rd September 2026 at Mind in Camden
• Attend an interview (time TBD)

We are seeking experienced, reliable, and driven volunteers to co-facilitate our person-centred peer support groups.

Through free and accessible peer support groups we support members in building confidence, re-connecting with their communities, and progressing along their own path to wellbeing and recovery.

This role is suitable for people who have some experience of facilitating groups/holding supportive spaces that are person-centred.

Peer Support Groups at Mind in Camden: We offer free peer support groups open to any adult 18+.  Each group focuses on different experiences, such as anxiety/mood, hearing voices, and LGBTQ+.  These groups are a space for people to come together and share their experiences, challenges, coping strategies, and build connections with like-minded people. 

All volunteers who apply must be willing to:

• Undergo a DBS check
• Attend a mandatory two day in person training on Monday 21st and Wednesday 23rd September 2026 at Mind in Camden
• Attend an interview (time TBD)

As a Fundraising Volunteer, you’ll provide much-needed help looking after fundraising relationships, and with fundraising activities and events. You’ll help us look after the supporters who are fundraising for us — to make sure they’re happy and feel part of what we do. You’ll also support us with planning and running events, including preparation and making sure everything runs smoothly on the day.

In this role you’ll develop your organisation, communication and team working skills.

Please note, you must live in or around Kendal to carry out this role.

As an Activities Volunteer, you’ll help our group deliver well organised activities and support everyone who takes part. Whether you’re serving refreshments or talking to people, you’ll help everyone feel welcome.

This role will help you develop your organisation, communication and team working skills.

Please note this role will be carried out in the Kendal Area and you must live in the area.

As an Activities Organiser, you'll bring your skills, energy and enthusiasm to lead, develop and plan activities and events with your local group. You’ll get involved in creating and coordinating an annual calendar of events, making sure they’re run safely and effectively, to be accessible to our MS community. You’ll take a lead role at events on the day, inspiring your fellow volunteers to get involved.  

To carry out this role, you will need to live in Kendal or the surrounding area.

VOLUNTEER ADMINISTRATOR

Across the UK, our 65 local branches work with disabled people to help them live the lives they choose. Our network of skilled volunteers respond to thousands of requests each year to design and make customised equipment free of charge.

Our Administrator volunteers are the lynchpin our local branch activities. They act as the first point of contact, ensure useful information is circulated to other members and help us make sure we keep all the data and details we need up to date.

What the role involves

This is a varied role that each branch tends to do a bit differently, but it will involve:

• Keeping records and data up to date and taking notes at meetings

• Preparing mail-outs

• Answering enquiries

• Accessing the branch Remap Email and Portal accounts

• Booking venues for meetings

• Ensuring branch members are aware of current agreements/activities

We can support you to develop the skills you need for this role, and there’s an induction that covers all the areas above. You’ll also have chance to discuss your role and any additional needs with us.

What you’ll need for this role

• Confident using Microsoft Office, the internet and email

• Comfortable organising the administration of a group

The Finance Volunteer role is largely home based, but it varies from branch to branch – some branches hold in-person meetings once a month or so, and their Finance Volunteers tend to be based in the area the branch covers.

If it works better for you, however, there’s a possibility this role could be done remotely.

Time commitment

This also varies, but it’s generally around 1-2 hours a week.

Our Publicity & Marketing volunteers play an essential role in publicising and raising awareness of their local branch’s activities.

What the role involves

This is a varied role that each branch tends to do a bit differently, but it will involve:

• Collecting case studies from the clients we help

• Writing stories for the local press

• Distributing literature

• Arranging talks

• Working with the Central Team to promote panel activities

We can support you to develop the skills you need for this role, and there’s an induction that covers all the areas above. You’ll also have chance to discuss your role and any additional needs with us.
