Job description

HELP BUILD SOMETHING THAT MATTERS

MINDSET Charity is looking for a Volunteer Treasurer to join our founding Board of Trustees.

We’re building MINDSET — a brand‑new, energetic mental health charity for men and boys in London.

Our focus is simple: practical, non‑clinical tools that actually feel good to use. Motivational interviewing. Solution‑focused approaches. Self‑improvement practices. Life coaching. Mentoring. Real conversations that help men understand themselves better, strengthen their mindset and take confident steps towards healthier futures.

Our mission is clear: to be the bridge into mental health — a safe, stigma‑free starting point where men and boys can reflect, set goals and get support long before crisis point.

Through our programmes, workshops and support, we equip men and boys with the skills and techniques that build resilience, boost wellbeing and create lasting change.

MINDSET is where growth begins — and where positive futures take shape.

THE ROLE: TREASURER (VOLUNTEER)

This is a founding role — a chance to help build a charity from day one.

As our Treasurer, you’ll oversee MINDSET’s financial health and help us build strong, transparent systems from the start. You’ll guide the Board on financial decision‑making, ensure compliance with UK charity regulations, and help us grow responsibly and sustainably.

This role is ideal for someone with UK accounting or finance experience who wants to use their skills to make a meaningful difference.

You will help us with:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records and accounts

  • Supporting the development of budgets, forecasts and financial plans

  • Ensuring compliance with UK charity finance and reporting requirements

  • Advising the Board on financial strategy, sustainability and risk

  • Overseeing banking, payments, donations and financial controls

  • Preparing simple, clear financial reports for Trustee meetings

  • Helping build financial systems suitable for a start‑up charity

You don’t need charity finance experience — just solid UK accounting knowledge, good judgement, and a commitment to helping us build something impactful.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bring your financial expertise.
  • Bring your clarity and confidence with numbers.
  • Bring your ideas for simple, effective financial systems.
  • Help us build strong foundations for a charity with big ambitions.

Could you help us make MINDSET happen?

WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM PEOPLE WITH EXPERIENCE IN:

  • UK Accounting / Bookkeeping
  • Charity finance (bonus, not essential)
  • Budgeting, forecasting or financial planning
  • Financial controls and risk management
  • Treasurer or finance roles in charities or community organisations
  • Governance and compliance
  • Start‑up or small charity operations

If you care about men’s wellbeing, believe in early intervention, and want to help build a charity with heart, purpose and ambition — this role is for you.
