Job description

HELP US LAUNCH MINDSET — AND CHANGE MEN & BOYS’ LIVES IN LONDON

We are ideally seeking volunteers from London but welcome volunteers across England, who can attend meetings and carry out their duties as a Trustee virtually.

We’re MINDSET Charity, a bold new start‑up charity in London on a mission to equip and empower men and boys with the tools they need for better mental health.

We’re building something powerful — a stigma‑free space where men and boys can learn real, non‑clinical and non‑therapeutic practical skills that strengthen resilience, boost wellbeing and create lasting change. Through motivational interviewing, solution‑focused approaches, self‑improvement practices, life coaching, mentoring and more, we will help men and boys build better habits, better mindsets and a better quality of life.

And right now, we’re getting set up and ready to launch — and we need TRUSTEES to join us at MINDSET.

YOUR IMPACT WILL BE HUGE

You’ll be joining at the very beginning — helping shape the foundations of an exciting new charity in London. You will be influential in building our strategy, strengthening our governance, and putting the systems and processes in place that will allow us to register as a charity and launch MINDSET within the next few months.

Your leadership, ideas, networks and experience will directly accelerate how quickly we can open our doors and begin supporting men and boys long before crisis point.

As a volunteer-led start-up charity, this is a hands on role initially until we are fully established, so Trustees who join us need to be aware that you will have to get your hands dirty and get engaged in setting up our systems, processes and operational aspects until we have recruited a team to come in and take on the operational duties delegated to them by the Board of Trustees.

This is your chance to be part of something meaningful at the very start — shaping a charity that will genuinely change lives across our capital.

WHAT YOU CAN HELP WITH

We’re searching for passionate, dedicated and experienced individuals to join our founding Board and take on one of our key roles:

  • Chairperson

  • Vice Chairperson

  • Treasurer (UK‑qualified accountant)

  • Secretary (Company Secretary)

  • Trustees with experience in any of the following areas:

    • Service or programme development

    • Fundraising, grant writing or donor relations

    • Mental health or wellbeing (especially for men and boys')

    • Safeguarding

    • Community engagement

    • Governance

    • Digital, tech or communications

    • Youth work or education

    • Charity start‑ups, early‑stage growth, or scaling up.

    • Or other areas that would benefit a new start up charity working with men and teenage boys around mental health, wellbeing and personal growth.

WE’RE NOT JUST LOOKING FOR ANYONE

We’re especially interested in people who:

  • thrive on the challenge of setting up a new charity

  • have entrepreneurial spirit and enjoy building something from scratch

  • aren’t afraid to get stuck in, hands‑on, alongside volunteers

  • bring energy, ideas and a collaborative mindset

  • want to help create a charity that will make a real difference in men’s lives

If you’re someone who loves shaping, building and leading — this is the perfect moment to join us.
