Safeguarding Lead (Trustee)

• Role Type: Trustee / Safeguarding & Compliance
• Time Commitment: 2–3 hours per month (Ad-hoc availability for escalations)

About Us:
MINDSET Charity is a brand-new, grassroots, volunteer-led charity based in Ealing, West London. Our mission is to support the mental wellbeing, emotional resilience, and personal growth of local men and boys. Through positive role models, structured mentoring, and growth-mindset coaching, we aim to build a stronger, more supportive community from the ground up.

The Role:
Because we work directly with school-aged boys and vulnerable men, safety is our highest priority. We need an experienced Safeguarding Lead to serve as our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) on the board. You will ensure our operational volunteers are safely vetted and that our mentoring spaces remain secure and compliant with UK law.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, update, and sign off on the charity’s Safeguarding Policy.
• Oversee the processing of Enhanced DBS checks for all incoming volunteers.
• Act as the main point of contact for any safeguarding or welfare disclosures.
• Maintain the charity’s secure, GDPR-compliant Single Central Record.

What We Are Looking For:

• Professional experience in safeguarding, social work, teaching, or youth justice.
• A deep understanding of working safely with minors and vulnerable adults.
• A calm, practical approach to managing risk.
