Our story began with one simple truth: no one should feel alone.
Inspired by a sister whose world had become small, isolated, and painfully quiet, Bright Connections was born from a family’s determination to bring light, laughter, and friendship back into the lives of disabled people who often feel forgotten. Many rely on others for daily care, yet still lack the one thing every human needs — connection.
What started as a personal mission has grown into a movement. A movement that believes friendship is a human right. That joy should be accessible. That community can transform lives.

We are at the very beginning of our journey, and we are seeking an experienced, visionary Volunteer CEO / Senior Leader to guide Bright Connections from early concept to fully established charity.
What You’ll Lead

Setting the strategic direction of Bright Connections, shaping our long‑term vision, values, and organisational identity.

Overseeing the full establishment of the charity, including governance, legal structure, policies, and operational frameworks.

Leading the charity registration process, ensuring compliance with the Charity Commission and other regulatory bodies.

Building and guiding the founding team, nurturing a collaborative, mission‑driven culture.

Developing key partnerships, engaging stakeholders, and representing Bright Connections to funders, community groups, and external organisations.

Creating the foundations for sustainable growth, including early fundraising strategy, volunteer pathways, and programme development.
What We’re Looking For

Senior leadership experience — ideally as a CEO, director, or senior manager within a charity, start‑up, or purpose‑driven organisation.

Someone who thrives in a blank‑canvas environment, able to build structure, systems, and strategy from the ground up.

Strong governance, organisational, and communication skills, with the confidence to lead and inspire others.

A collaborative, compassionate leader who is deeply aligned with our mission and comfortable working independently in a remote setting.

A strategic thinker who can balance big‑picture vision with practical execution.
