Job description

We Need Your Help!

Demand for our support in Tower Hamlets and the surrounding areas is rising fast, and adults who feel disconnected from services, opportunities, and support networks are looking for a way forward. We’re ready to step up — but we cannot reach the people who need us most without someone who can build strong, trusted relationships across the community.

We urgently need a leader who believes in connection, partnership, and the power of community outreach to change lives.

Become Our Volunteer Community Outreach Manager and Help Us Reach the Adults Who Need Us Most

Unlock YOUR Potential supports NEET adults (18+) across East London to rebuild confidence, improve wellbeing, and move toward employment, education, or training. To reach those who are most isolated or overlooked, we need to be present in the places they already go — Jobcentres, community hubs, youth/adult services, local charities, and grassroots organisations.

We need someone who can open doors, build partnerships, and make sure our programmes are visible, accessible, and trusted.

This is your chance to become the connector between our mission and the community we serve.

Your Impact

As our Community Outreach Manager, you will be the face of Unlock YOUR Potential across Tower Hamlets and the surrounding areas. Your leadership will shape how adults discover our programmes, how partners refer participants, and how we embed ourselves within the local community.

You will help us:

  • Build strong relationships with Jobcentres, community hubs, and local services

  • Increase referrals into our 12‑week programme, 1‑2‑1 coaching, wellbeing workshops, and mentoring

  • Raise awareness of our mission among frontline staff and community leaders

  • Ensure our support reaches adults who are isolated, unemployed, or disengaged

  • Strengthen our community presence as we prepare for charity registration

  • Create a network of partners who believe in our mission and want to collaborate

Your work will directly determine how many adults we can reach — and how many lives we can change.

What You’ll Lead On

  • Partnership Building: Connecting with Jobcentres, community centres, youth/adult services, housing associations, and local charities.

  • Outreach Strategy: Designing and delivering a plan to increase visibility and referrals.

  • Community Presence: Attending events, drop‑ins, and meetings to represent UYP.

  • Referral Pathways: Creating simple, effective ways for partners to refer adults to our programmes.

  • Collaboration: Working with programme managers to understand capacity and participant needs.

  • Local Insight: Feeding back community trends, needs, and opportunities to the leadership team.

  • Safeguarding & Professionalism: Ensuring all outreach is safe, ethical, and aligned with our values.

This is a relationship‑driven, people‑focused role — perfect for someone who loves connecting with others and building community trust.

What You Bring

You don’t need to have worked in a charity before — what matters most is confidence, communication, and a passion for community impact.

You may be:

  • Experienced in outreach, community engagement, employability, or partnership‑building

  • Skilled at building rapport with frontline staff and local organisations

  • Confident speaking to groups, presenting programmes, and representing a mission

  • Someone who understands the challenges faced by NEET adults or brings lived experience

  • A proactive, friendly communicator who believes in second chances

Above all, you bring warmth, professionalism, and a belief that connection unlocks opportunity.

What You Gain

  • A meaningful leadership role in a growing social impact start‑up

  • The chance to build a community outreach function from scratch

  • Real influence over how adults in Tower Hamlets and the surrounding areas discover life‑changing support

  • Experience in partnership‑building, community engagement, and programme promotion

  • A legacy — your work will help create pathways that support hundreds in the future

This is an opportunity to become the bridge between our mission and the community we serve.

If you’re ready to help us reach the people who need us most, we’d love to hear from you.

Unlock YOUR Potential:

Help us build a future where no one is left behind.
