Location: Hybrid (London)
Time Commitment: Approximately 4–8 hours per week

Unlock YOUR Potential is a new London-based charity dedicated to empowering adults from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds through career coaching, employability skills, personal development, wellbeing support, life coaching, mentoring, and access to opportunities that help individuals achieve their full potential.

To help us achieve our mission, we are looking for a passionate and driven Fundraising Lead to support the development of a sustainable fundraising strategy and secure the resources needed to create lasting impact.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in shaping the future of a growing charity.
As Fundraising Lead, you will help develop and implement fundraising initiatives that support the charity’s work and long-term sustainability. You will have the opportunity to build fundraising systems, identify funding opportunities, and help create a culture of philanthropy and support around our mission.
Working closely with the Founder, Trustees, volunteers, and partners, you will help ensure that Unlock YOUR Potential has the financial resources needed to deliver meaningful programmes and expand its reach across London.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fundraising Strategy
- Support the development of a fundraising strategy and annual fundraising plan.
- Identify opportunities to diversify income streams.
- Help establish fundraising targets and priorities.
- Contribute ideas for sustainable income generation and growth.
2. Grants and Trusts
- Research potential grant-making trusts, foundations, and funding bodies.
- Support the preparation of funding applications and proposals.
- Assist with gathering information and evidence for funding bids.
- Help maintain a pipeline of grant opportunities.
3. Corporate Fundraising
- Work with the Partnerships Lead to identify corporate sponsorship opportunities.
- Develop relationships with businesses interested in supporting the charity.
- Explore opportunities for employee fundraising, sponsorship, and donations.
- Support applications to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and community investment programmes.
4. Community and Individual Giving
- Develop ideas for community fundraising activities and campaigns.
- Encourage supporter engagement and fundraising participation.
- Help build relationships with individual donors and supporters.
- Explore digital fundraising opportunities and online giving platforms.
5. Fundraising Administration
- Maintain records of fundraising activities and prospects.
- Support the development of fundraising materials and supporter communications.
- Assist with monitoring fundraising performance and reporting.
Skills and Experience
We welcome applications from individuals with a range of professional and lived experiences.
You may have experience in:
- Fundraising
- Grant writing
- Business development
- Sales and marketing
- Corporate partnerships
- Community fundraising
- Charity or voluntary sector work
- Bid writing
- Relationship management
We are particularly looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about creating positive social impact.
- Has strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Is proactive and able to work independently.
- Has excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Enjoys researching opportunities and developing ideas.
- Can build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Previous fundraising experience is welcome but not essential. We are equally interested in enthusiastic individuals who are willing to learn and contribute.
