As a start‑up preparing for charity registration, we need someone who can build a complete volunteer learning ecosystem from scratch.

Your Impact
As our Training & Development Manager, you will shape how every volunteer learns, grows, and delivers support. Your leadership will ensure our coaches, mentors, facilitators, and team members feel confident, prepared, and aligned with our mission.
You will help us:

Build a structured training pathway for all volunteer roles

Create onboarding that inspires confidence and clarity

Develop specialist training for coaching, mentoring, wellbeing, and safeguarding

Ensure volunteers feel supported, skilled, and ready to make an impact

Build the learning frameworks needed for charity registration and future funding

Strengthen the quality and consistency of every service we deliver
Your work will directly influence the experience of every volunteer — and every adult they support.
What You’ll Lead On

Volunteer Training Pathways: Designing clear, accessible learning journeys for each role.

Onboarding & Induction: Creating a welcoming, informative, and inspiring introduction to UYP.

Skills Development: Building workshops, guides, and resources for coaching, mentoring, wellbeing, and community engagement.

Safeguarding & Compliance Training: Ensuring volunteers understand safe practice and organisational policies.

Quality Assurance: Monitoring training effectiveness and improving it over time.

Collaboration: Working closely with the Head of Volunteering and Head of Programmes & Services to align training with service needs.
This is a strategic and hands‑on role — perfect for someone who loves developing people and building learning systems.
What You Bring
You don’t need to have worked in a charity before — what matters most is a passion for learning, structure, and people development.
You may be:

Experienced in training, L&D, coaching, mentoring, HR, or adult education

Skilled at designing workshops, learning materials, or development pathways

A strong communicator who can make complex ideas simple and engaging

Someone who understands the challenges faced by NEET adults or brings lived experience

A leader who wants to use their skills to empower volunteers and strengthen a community
