This is a fixed term contract for 6 months
What you'll do:
* Undertake key-working responsibilities for a caseload assigned by the Team Leader / Manager
* Oversee the daily running of the service ensuring all health and safety responsibilities are met
* Raise safeguarding alerts and complete incident reports within specified timeframe
* Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs and potential risks and agree levels of support and actions
* Create support/action plans for providing appropriate support based on the assessment and reflecting the services and resources available
* Support customers to undertake domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of living standards
* Support customers to move on from the service through their identified move on pathway liaising with our Resettlement Officer and Brent Housing team.
* Develop and maintain links with all key agencies and service providers in the local community
* Empower customers to ensure they receive the service and benefits they are entitled to
* Undertake all administrative work and keep accurate and comprehensive tenant/customer records to professional standards in line with GDPR protocol

About the role
Working at Crisis Skylight Birmingham, you will lead on the delivery of our volunteer programme. You will be responsible for the recruitment of new volunteers, the support of existing volunteers and volunteer to maintain a positive volunteer experience. You will work across teams to ensure volunteers’ experience of volunteering is positive and play a key role in volunteer retention. You will be collaborative and dynamic in working with the team to identify and develop new volunteering opportunities. You will have the ability and confidence to increase the diversity and variety of our volunteering opportunities to reflect our local community and better serve our members. You will be flexible and innovative in reaching a diverse group of people from across the local community. You will also lead on the delivery of events that involve our members, build networks and increase awareness of Crisis’ work in Birmingham.
You will have experience of working with people who are socially excluded or with support needs. You will understand the importance of delivering equitable services and can empower our members to share their experience and contribute to continuous service adaptations and improvements. You will be creative and inclusive in establishing service-specific member involvement opportunities so members can influence our service locally. You will work across teams to ensure we deliver our service with people experiencing homelessness, instead of delivering a service to people experiencing homelessness. You will work with the central Crisis team to respond to member involvement opportunities, influencing policy and providing members with the opportunity to share their story with the wider public and media.

Support workers will manage a number of young people to help them to identify, plan and achieve their goals, develop relationships meaningful to them and achieve greater independence by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package.
This is a Waking Night role working to support young people throughout the night at the service.
The working pattern for this role Includes: three 10-hour night shifts per week, with shift times varying between 9:30pm-7:30am and 10pm-8am.
What you'll do:
- Building supportive, trusting relationships with young people and creating a positive atmosphere
- Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities
- Conducting key work sessions as required, that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals

What you'll do:
* Reduce debt by collecting payments on time and within agreed payment terms and credit limits, using email, telephone and written follow-up.
* Ensure cash received is allocated to the correct accounts, and investigate, analyse and follow up on any underpayments or overpayments with the relevant team.
* Regularly reconcile accounts to ensure payments have been allocated correctly.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders.

What you'll do:
- Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs including support needs and daily living skills. This would include potential risks and an assessment of the customers independent living skills as a whole.
- The initial and co-produced assessment will incorporate models of co-production, observation, and person-centred planning. This is with a view that it is solution focused as to provide a framework for progression towards independent living.
- Liaise with partner agencies regarding the assessment process seeking advice and guidance as to specialist input and clinical input as part of multi-disciplinary assessment process.
- Create support/ action plans for providing appropriate services based on the assessment and reflecting the services and resources available.
- Empower customers to be part of the local community and active participants in the local community as part of a Recovery Capital model.
- Liaise with partner agencies regarding making referrals where an unmet need has been identified via the multi-agency assessment.
- Ensure that referrals are chased proactively so that properties which can be used to house those in need are filled as efficiently as possible.

Reporting to the Epilepsy12 Project Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day coordination of this important national audit. Reducing the Risk of Domestic Abuse is a company and charity set up to:
The trustees collectively have expertise in domestic abuse, child protection, criminal justice, voluntary sector governance, local authority community safety, training and quality assurance. While primarily a local charity the trustees anticipate that, with a focus on quality, some of the work of the charity may contribute to broader good practice development. The charity participates in a number of multi agency partnerships responsible for aspects of the county’s integrated domestic abuse strategy.
Function
The first priority of the charity is to provide an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor Service for the county. The post holder will be a member of the IDVA team and provide a pro-active service to victims of domestic violence to keep them safe and promote their wellbeing. They will use their skills to assess the risk a client is in, deliver a service appropriate to the level of risk and have a particular focus on providing an intensive service to those at high risk. The post holder will have the skills to act as lead professional, working to ensure an integrated service and co-ordinating multi agency work to keep people safe, in addition to working with victims and signposting to other services.
Responsibilities:
The nature of this post will require flexibility to meet work needs as they arise. This may occassionally entail some work outside normal office hours. The post holder will be expected to adopt a flexible attitude to their duties. An exciting opportunity has arisen to work at our Integrated Offender Management (IOM) House in Southampton. The project opened in 2015 and is designed to work with housing and substance use issues who are part of the Hampshire Integrated Offender Management Scheme. The IOM House seeks to provide an opportunity to engage in a substance free and safe environment.
IOM is a partnership and joint approach by the Police, Probation and the Society of St James to work with people who have substance use issues as well as being involved in the criminal justice service.
You will work as part of a wider team, (although it will be mostly lone working) within the IOM House and in area of Southampton. There may be other professionals hot desking from the project and they also support the house staff and residents. The roles within the IOM House will be forging partnerships to motivate and support service users to: improve their daily living skills, retain and sustain their accommodation, engage with meaningful occupation or learning opportunities while promoting empowerment and independence.
Working in partnership with the local IOM Police and Probation teams you will ensure the residents maintain engagement with the IOM Scheme and that the environment in the house is positive, supportive and safe. You will be expected to develop the project to ensure residents have structure and routine, whilst working with the residents in a trauma informed way. You will need to communicate and build links with the local services as well as county-wide IOM Teams to ensure effective partnership working.
Who We’re Looking For
The successful candidate will have knowledge and/or experience of working with individuals with complex needs within a supported housing environment and have knowledge of the criminal justice system and related issues. You will be highly motivated and able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, with good organisational and IT skills.
