As part of our governance and succession planning, we are seeking to appoint a new Chair of Trustees, following the completion of the current Chair’s maximum term. We are looking for a Chair with the leadership, governance, and relational capacity to guide the Board effectively in this next season.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the Board effectively - chair Board meetings with clarity, fairness, and impartiality; work with the executive leadership team to shape agendas; foster a culture of trust, accountability, and constructive challenge; and ensure the Board focuses on its fiduciary, strategic, and generative responsibilities (including finance, risk, safeguarding, and trustee development).
• Support and line-manage the CEO - act as the primary point of accountability for the CEO on behalf of the Board; provide encouragement, guidance, and appropriate challenge between meetings; and lead the CEO’s annual appraisal and oversee performance review arrangements.
• Chair Council meetings - chair the twice-yearly Council meetings, including the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
• Represent the charity - act as an ambassador and spokesperson for Global Connections within the network and externally where appropriate.
• Contribute to governance and reporting - provide content for the Annual Trustees’ Report, with support from the Executive Leadership.

We empower student-led networks to deliver free, locally co-created, career-focused education to underserved regions.

Through PathFinder Organisation CIC (InStudents' spinout), we support international students navigating life in the UK, from pre-arrival all the way through to post-graduation. As part of the Government led Gommunities for Afghans programme, we are looking to recruit individuals or groups (UK BASED ONLY) to make up a team of 6 volunteers to support an Afghan family - you could be friends, neighbours, colleagues, faith groups, veterans, or community organisations are welcome.

We are currently focussed on supporting families across Wales, West Midlands and Scotland but be keen to support elsewhere geographically where possible.  With this in mind, you may live in these areas, but we are also delighted to bring volunteers together remotely to support a family.

The Communities for Afghans programme is a community-led Government initiative supporting families as they rebuild their lives in the UK. It is a Government-approved scheme that enables local people to welcome Afghan refugee famiklies into their community. TVS is a small charity working with rural schools in South Africa to empower vulnerable children through education. We are seeking a volunteer Secretary to our Board of Trustees. Membership Secretary

Challenge Adventure Group (“CAG” for short and the operating name of CAG Trust) is a voluntary youth organisation for Knowle, Dorridge and beyond aimed at boys aged 10 and above.

As our name suggests, we provide challenging, adventurous and fun activities and the D of E Award for young people in their leisure time. Taking part in fun experiential activities enables members to develop their physical and mental skills and capacities and reach their full potential of becoming positive, active and happy citizens.

Summary

CAG was formed in 2009 and became a charity, CAG Trust, in 2019. Our group is flourishing and we have a growing number of members who want to take part in our exciting program and challenging adventures. There is a lot of paperwork and payments to be completed and returned by parents and this has to be distributed, returned and logged along with the collection, chasing arrears and logging of membership fees. You will be working in conjunction with the Treasurer and Group Leader as well as being a Committee member.

Description

We are looking for someone to manage member registrations and termly membership renewals / fee collection. The membership secretary has a vital role to play at the start of each term and has an important role throughout the year maintaining members’ records as per GDPR guidelines.

The key tasks of the role are to:

• Maintain the database / spreadsheet of membership and parent details and enrol new members throughout the year.

• Discuss membership with potential new members, register new members and send out Welcome packs to new members.

• Ensure the parents and new member are comfortable in their first few months.

• Manage the membership renewal process at the beginning of each term. 

• Manage the distribution process of membership paperwork to include chasing missing paperwork. 

• Administration and chasing of unpaid / late membership fees.

• Work in conjunction of the Treasurer.

• Coordinate membership levels with Marketing manager to ensure membership is always full.

• Manage the Membership database, in addition to contact details, record Gift Aid Declarations, permission forms and any other relevant returned paperwork.

• Chase any non renewed members and archive as per GDPR guidelines as necessary.

• Conduct a membership audit if required by the committee and in liaison with the Group Leader.

• Respond to membership enquiries.

• Liaise with parents over any membership issues.

• Act as a member of the Committee.

• Attend training courses.

Ideally you should have / be:

• An ability to communicate with adults and young people, both verbally and in writing.

• An ability to organise and plan effectively.

• Office software literate.

• Build, maintain and facilitate effective working relationships with a wide range of people.

Making a difference - what impact will the opportunity have?

Your input is key to the running of CAG as well as securing its future. The membership secretary is the authority on how membership is progressing year-on-year. You should be able to very quickly tell of growth / decline in membership amongst different age groups to inform the focus of the Marketing Manager and Group Leader.

Will you share your counselling or psychotherapy skills as a child & young person's (CYP) counsellor or therapist to join an online counselling service for young patients with a pain condition (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome)? We’re supporting patients, relatives, partners and carers affected by a debilitating condition; Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).

We're looking for qualified paediatric/child &/or young person counsellors, psychotherapists or psychologists ideally with some experience of working with chronic pain patients, who may want to volunteer their skills supporting our young service users and help develop a psychological support service. 

As a Volunteer Child and/or young person's Counsellor/Therapist you’ll be providing remote online counselling/therapy support services to young people aged 5 to 18 who are vulnerable, many of whom are isolated and in need of mental health services. You’ll be providing one-to-one counselling sessions online or by phone. With your recognised counselling qualifications and experience you will be an asset to our small charity and to our young services users. 

Depending on your qualifications, skills and experience, volunteer child counsellors / therapists provide person centred counselling (general talking counselling), integrative, pluralistic including or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), ACT and EMDR for young CRPS patients.

We are needing to expand this service to support our young clients as it has rapidly received a high number of referrals. People can be referred both by health or legal professionals as well as having parents/guardians referring them to the service.

In this role you’ll be able to develop your paediatric counselling skills, organisation, communication and team working skills. If you have experience in younger children please do get in touch.

Most importantly, you’ll provide essential services that ensure no one has to face CRPS alone. Be the hope for CRPS.

What the role involves

This role may vary depending on needs, but is likely to include:

• Undertake child client general assessments, followed by therapy (via Zoom or phone) to our clients, offering up to 20 one hour (or 45 mins age dependant) sessions for each client plus 4 assessments

• Providing one-to-one therapy sessions to young patients aged 5-18 (we will consider therapists who can only support primary or secondary school age)

• Update our database with the client’s basic information and session attendance

• Maintain succinct, relevant session notes and store these securely

• Attending and participating in meetings
• Project monitoring, creating, reporting and outcomes evaluation procedures

• Attend CPD training to ensure your knowledge stays current

• Participating in regular meetings with the Clinical Lead
• Maintaining client confidentiality, upholding data protection and equal opportunities principle

• Attend monthly internal group Supervision to ensure safe working practices

We can support you to develop the skills you need for this role, including an induction. You will have a chance to discuss your role and any additional needs with us.

What you need for this role

Essential

• Be a member of one of the recognised organisations (see below)
• Level 4 Diploma level qualifications as a minimum, Degree or Masters in Paediatric Counselling, Counselling/Clinical Psychology, Psychotherapy, Play Therapy, Dance & Movement Psychotherapy or Art Therapy 
• Minimum of 100 hours supervised
• Proof of professional indemnity insurance annually - we may consider paying this as an expense but a commitment to the charity is required
• A valid DBS certificate (enhanced version), which is less than three years old and renewed every three years (the charity can provide where necessary)
• Able to keep people’s personal data safe

• Willing and able to provide counselling via Zoom from a private location with a stable WiFi connection

• Able to support a minimum of 3 child or young clients a week, being three hours of your time for counselling sessions plus time for administration. We ideally hope you to offer the charity a commitment of six months.

About the role:

As Social & Digital Media Education Lead, you will develop and lead training, workshops, and resources for community members, volunteers, and staff. You will work closely with the Instructional Designer, Membership Director, and Technical Systems Liaison to ensure digital learning aligns with our anti-capitalist, survivor-led, and community-driven mission. This is a strategic and hands-on role where your expertise directly enables communities to navigate and leverage digital spaces safely and effectively.

Experience Qualification and Requirements

Essential Technical Competencies:

• Experience managing social media platforms, including content creation, scheduling and audience engagement.
• Experience designing and delivering digital education programmes or training courses.
• Skilled in facilitating online workshops, webinars or interactive learning sessions.
• Ability to create multimedia learning materials such as videos, presentations and guides.
• Ability to support learners in building practical digital skills.
• Knowledge of major social media platforms, digital tools and safe online practices.
• Strong communication skills for clear instruction and guidance.
• Ability to design, deliver and evaluate digital learning content effectively.
• Formal qualifications in digital media, communications or a related field or equivalent professional/volunteer experience.
• Practical experience demonstrating digital content creation, online facilitation or programme management.

• Experience or strong interest in social media, digital content creation or online community engagement. 
• Strong interest in community education, inclusion and positive digital participation.
• Developing skills in creating educational or informative digital content (posts, short videos, guides or campaigns). 

Qualifications:

Main Responsibilities/ Key Duties

• Design and deliver educational programmes, workshops and learning resources on social media literacy.
• Develop training on digital safety and responsible online behaviour.
• Monitor digital trends, tools and risks to ensure training content is relevant, current and safe.
• Develop engaging, practical learning experiences for diverse audiences.
• Update and adapt learning materials to reflect changes in social media platforms and digital practices.
• Align digital media training with organisational goals and programme objectives.
• Provide practical guidance to ensure learners can apply digital skills confidently.
• Support members and volunteers in applying digital skills, including content creation, online communication and platform navigation.
• Develop assessment tools, guides and documentation to track learning progress and measure outcomes.
• Maintain records of learning activities and progress to inform programme improvements.
• Foster confidence and competence among learners and staff in applying digital skills responsibly and effectively.
• Monitor compliance and provide feedback to continuously improve digital education programmes in line with organisational standards.
• Ensure all digital education activities comply with safeguarding policies, protecting vulnerable participants and maintaining a safe learning environment.
• Apply best practices in data-driven decision-making to ensure digital education initiatives are learner-focused, inclusive and aligned with organisational objectives.

Are you a Child and Young Person Clinical Supervisor interested in supporting child and young person counsellors and therapists?

Burning Nights CRPS Support has a highly skilled counselling and therapy team who provide counselling and psychotherapy to adults and children who have been impacted by a debilitating pain condition, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). This team is expanding rapidly and we are now looking for 1 volunteer Child and Young Person (CYP) Clinical Supervisor to join this team ensuring we can continue the provision of our vital emotional support services to this community specifically for young people. We would ideally like to take on 1 CYP Clinical Supervisor supporting a small group of CYP therapists who specialise in a range of modalities.

All our Counselling and therapy team help to develop our growing mental health support service for patients, families and carers affected by Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). As a volunteer with the CRPS Counselling & Therapy Service, your skills and experience as a CYP Clinical Supervisor will be providing support to therapists who offer therapy to vulnerable children and young people aged 5-18.

Depending on your qualifications, skills and experience, you will provide group and 1-2-1 Supervision support for CYP counsellors or psychotherapists who provide counselling support or specialist services for children and young people. The service currently offers specialist support to anyone over the age of 5 who is affected by CRPS.

Key Tasks and Objectives

• Facilitate Clinical Supervision group sessions on a monthly basis (online) and be able to offer at least 1 or 2 supervisees on 1-2-1 basis mainly trainees

• Administer this supervision from invitation through to record keeping

• Take part in complex case allocation meetings with the Clinical Lead

• Maintain appropriate clinical records of all work and to report, along with any concerns on individuals or their practice to the Clinical Lead

• Commitment to ongoing supervision of supervision practice at Burning Nights CRPS Support as well as engaging in separate own personal supervision

• Work flexibly as part of a small team as necessary to provide maximum coverage for supervision, such as in the event of emergencies

• Abide by all Burning Nights CRPS Support policies and procedures

• Adhere to BACP, BABCP (or other appropriate therapies governing body) Ethical Framework

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

• Psychotherapy/Counselling qualification with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a similar field

• Qualification in Clinical Supervision - ideally level 7 or above (could also suit experienced counsellors who require a placement during Clinical Supervision placement, or experienced counsellors wishing to gain experience in supervision)

• Had experience of supervising CYP therapists 

• Accreditation/registration (or working at the level of or towards this qualification) as a Supervisor with BACP/HCPC/BABCP or equivalent

• Significant proven experience of supervising individual CYP counsellors/psychotherapists from a range of training backgrounds 

• Appropriate and proven clinical experience of working with young people with a range of difficulties including complex medical health issues, loss and bereavement. Ideally experience of working with children and young people living with or affected by chronic pain or chronic conditions

• Willingness to engage in any Burning Nights CRPS Support training

• Understanding of issues regarding confidentiality and management of risk within a counselling service

• Good administrative skills

• Understanding of the voluntary sector

• Commitment to on-going engagement in personal supervision

• Knowledgeable of and committed to equalities’ provision

Desirable:

• Appropriate and proven clinical experience of working with children and young people living with or affected by chronic pain or chronic conditions

• Being able to supervise CYP therapists in small groups

• Experience of working within a low-cost / free voluntary sector counselling setting

• Experience of working within the voluntary charity sector
