We are recruiting a Van Peer Coordinator to support our Hepatitis C peer project in the Oxford & Thames Valley area. This role involves driving a van across the region and working with people affected by substance use and hepatitis C. 

Peers use their lived experience to raise awareness of hepatitis C, reduce stigma, and help people access testing and treatment. 

About you 
You will: 

• Be confident driving a van and travelling long distances 

• Have experience working with people affected by substance misuse 

• Have lived experience of hepatitis C, or experience supporting someone who has 

• Be reliable, compassionate, and well organised 

• Have good communication skills 

• Hold a clean driving licence (essential) 

What you’ll do 

• Recruit and support volunteer peers 

• Work with NHS hepatitis C teams, drug and alcohol services, and homelessness services 

• Coordinate education sessions and community-based hepatitis C testing 

• Support people into hepatitis C treatment and ongoing care 

This role requires regular travel across Oxford & Thames Valley.

We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and values‑driven Estates Manager to lead our Estates function and ensure our services, properties, and environments consistently meet the highest standards.

The Role:

As Estates Manager, you will be the driving force behind the quality, compliance and safety of Life’s estate. This role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on management of our property portfolio, ensuring all sites are safe, secure and operating to required standards.

You will:

• Lead Health & Safety and Premises/Facilities Management across the charity
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and internal standards
• Oversee risk management, audits, inspections and safety monitoring
• Manage the Estates Coordinator and foster a culture of continuous improvement
• Work with external partners to ensure checks are carried out (Gas, Fire Safety, Legionella, Asbestos, etc.)
• Manage property acquisition, disposal, leases, maintenance and contracts
• Develop and maintain estates policies and reporting systems
• Drive a positive, proactive health & safety culture across Life

What You’ll Bring:

• Highly organised, proactive, and able to take initiative

• Able to lead others and support their development
• Skilled in identifying improvements and driving change

Qualifications/Experience:
✔ NEBOSH (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety
✔ Evidence of continuous professional development
✔ Experience in data analysis or financial management (desirable)
✔ HND or equivalent in business/charity administration (desirable)

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes across a number of prisons. To ensure the continuation of our programmes during times of staff absence, we are now seeking to recruit a Prison Facilitator/Library Assistant on a bank working basis to work across the Bristol region (HMP Leyhill, HMP Ashfield, HMP Eastwood Park and HMP Bristol). Working closely with prisons and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will support with the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme in the area, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
 
You will have experience working within prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships quickly and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. You will also have a willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice, to provide short or long term cover within the prisons in this area.
 
This role will be prison-based. This is a bank role and so the number of days to be worked will vary and are not guaranteed.
