The Student Volunteering & Social Impact Coordinator leads the coordination of London Play Design’s Student Volunteering Programme, working closely with delivery/ Technical teams, partnerships staff and senior management.

This role focuses on connecting people, projects and learning, rather than carrying sole responsibility for delivery. The post-holder coordinates systems, supports students and ensures quality, while working as part of a wider team.

The role is designed to be manageable, collaborative and sustainable, with clear shared ownership of outputs.

The role operates across two interconnected strands:

Student learning, insight and impact
Supporting students to understand the social impact of London Play Design’s work, contribute to evaluation and learning, and help strengthen partnerships through the development of case studies and programme insights.

Practical delivery and capacity-building
Connecting students with hands-on opportunities that build their practical experience while supporting the delivery of corporate volunteer days, construction activity and community projects.

What You Will Do

1. Coordinate the Student Volunteering Programme

You will oversee the day-to-day coordination of the programme, ensuring students have a clear, supportive and meaningful experience.

This includes:

• Coordinating student recruitment, onboarding and induction
• Developing clear volunteering pathways, role descriptions and learning outcomes
• Acting as the main point of contact for student volunteers
• Monitoring engagement, attendance and well-being in collaboration with on-site teams
• Supporting continuous programme improvement as part of a team, not in isolation

On-site supervision and safeguarding are led by delivery staff. You will not be expected to supervise students independently on live sites.

2. Support Research, Learning & Social Impact (with students)

You will coordinate and quality-check student-led research and impact work, rather than producing it yourself.

Your role will be to:

• Support students to collect qualitative and quantitative data
• Guide students in drafting case studies, learning notes and impact stories
• Review work, give feedback and ensure clarity and consistency
• Coordinate publication processes alongside the Partnerships team or delegated student roles
• Share learning internally to support organisational development
• Supporting funding applications and reporting with structured evidence and insights

You will not be responsible for writing funding applications or producing full reports independently.

3. Connect Students to Live Projects

You will work with internal teams to place students on appropriate projects for learning and case-study purposes, and support volunteer days and construction delivery

This includes:

• Matching students to projects and departments
• Liaising with technical and Partnership teams to support access and information
• Connecting students with partner charities where appropriate
• Keeping student case-study activity on track
• Working with the technical team to align student support with project needs
• Balancing learning needs with delivery realities

4. Maintain University Partnerships

London Play Design already has established relationships with a small number of universities (typically 2–3).

You will:

• Maintain communication with university contacts
• Represent the organisation at a small number of events or talks each year (approx. 3–4)
• Support the ongoing development of placement and volunteering opportunities.

5. Support Communications & Storytelling (Shared Responsibility)

Working with student volunteers and the Partnerships team, you will support:

• Clear and accessible communication of London Play Design’s work
• Impact storytelling for websites, publications and social media
• Sharing community learning and project outcomes

You will not be the sole content producer or final editor for all communications.

Skills & Experience

The postholder will work closely with the Asylum Reform Initiative Deputy Director to facilitate the implementation of the OSV vision and strategies which strengthen Lived Experience leadership across the refugee and migrant sector. You will have lived experience of the asylum and migration system, together with knowledge of huma rights and issues affecting refugees, people seeking asylum and migrants in the UK.  You will have excellent organisational and inter personal skills to enable you to coordinate workshops and events, some of these will be in the evening.

High Trees is seeking a Youth Employment Support Service Coordinator for our Build Your Future programme. Build Your Future is a targeted youth employment project supporting young people aged 16–24 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET). The project provides holistic, person-centred support combining outreach and engagement, pastoral support, employability skills development and progression into education, training or work.

The project is primarily delivered in-house by High Trees, working in partnership with other local delivery partners. Build Your Future focuses on young people facing multiple barriers, including care-experienced young people, migrants and refugees, young people with SEND, and those experiencing social or economic exclusion.

The Build Your Future Project Coordinator plays a central role in ensuring the effective day-to-day delivery of the project. Working closely with High Trees delivery teams and partner organisations, the postholder will coordinate outreach and engagement activity, support the provision of high-quality pastoral support for young people, and ensure strong project coordination, monitoring and reporting.

This role will suit someone who is highly organised, collaborative and passionate about supporting young people facing multiple barriers into education, training and employment.

You will be a skilled people manager and effective communicator, responsible for the line management of staff and ensuring the service is represented at stakeholder and partner community events. Salary: £32,750 - £35,564 FTE per annum, inclusive of Inner London Weighting (£19650 - £21338.40 pro rata per annum)

Location: Hackney
We typically work 2 days a week in the office but offer the flexibility to work fully remotely. Our office space is wheelchair accessible.

Family Action & the Role’s Impact: 

We are seeking a Peer Mentoring Coordinator to develop and manage our new LGBTQ+ Peer Mentoring Programme, training and supporting Project Indigo members to become mentors in the local community.

Project Indigo is the LGBTQ+ youth service based at Off Centre at Family Action. It is open to anyone aged 16-25 who identifies as LGBTQ+ or is exploring their sexuality or gender identity. Our weekly youth group is a safe, supportive space for LGBTQ+ young people to meet each other and participate in workshops and activities. In addition to the youth group, Project Indigo offers 1-to-1 support and advice sessions with the Project Lead. The group aims to support young people to build links with the local LGBTQ+ community, build meaningful relationships and get support around issues that are impacting them. Project Indigo maintains a youth-led and person-centred approach, with this role being developed in consultation with our members to support them in accessing training and support to do community-focused work. The Peer Mentoring Coordinator’s role will be to develop a new Peer Mentoring Programme, supporting older Project Indigo members to train as mentors and deliver mentoring sessions with younger LGBTQ+ people in the local community.

Off Centre is a service that provides a range of targeted mental health focused support services to young people aged 16 to 25 who reside/are registered with a City and Hackney GP. These include: individual, counselling and psychotherapy, individual and group art psychotherapy, key-work support, out of hours drop-in service on Thursday evenings; targeted provision for children and young people of African, Caribbean and mixed heritage (ACH); and an Information and Advice provision.

The role

As the Peer Mentoring Coordinator, you will develop and lead Project Indigo’s Peer Mentoring Programme. Central to the role will be understanding young mentors’ needs and goals, and providing high quality supervisory support throughout the training and mentoring process. You will further develop the Mentoring programme, consulting with relevant organisations, liaising with partners, and keeping accurate records to monitor progress for administrative and evaluative purposes.

Your impact

This role will enrich Project Indigo’s holistic offer by providing young people with the opportunity to access training, qualifications and work experience while receiving high quality support tailored to their needs. You will offer sensitive supervisory support to young LGBTQ+ mentors, supporting their diverse need by maintaining an empathetic, intersectional and youth-led approach.

Your skills

You will be a confident communicator with proven experience of working in a supportive role with LGBTQ+ young people and/or evidence of in-depth knowledge of issues relating to LGBTQ+ young people, in particular trans and gender diverse young people.

You will be empathetic and maintain an understanding of the social issues impacting young LGBTQ+ people. You will have excellent organisational skills and be able to manage your time and workload effectively. You will have an understanding of risk management, health and safety issues and the ability in accordance with local and organisational safeguarding policies.
