The successful candidate will be a proactive individual, able to look ahead and plan for what’s coming up. You’ll also have strong IT and communication skills, experience managing multiple tasks and deadlines, with an eye for detail and an interest to work in the charity sector. You must have at least one year’s continuous experience working in a similar role.

Key responsibilities

 Office & Finance Administration

• Working alongside the Office Manager to ensure the smooth running of the office.
• Responding to general enquiries.
• Co-ordinating the weekly staff office duties rota.
• Co-ordinating the internal meeting room booking schedule.
• Support the Office Manager to coordinate the prompt and accurate weekly grants and invoice authorisation and payments process.
• Working alongside the Office Manager in the review of supplier’s contracts.
• Preparing the monthly petty cash and credit card reconciliation for authorisation.
• Depositing cheques and cash donations as soon as they are received and recording transactions.
• Overseeing the Finance inbox, monitoring enquiries and invoices.
• Ensuring all finance records are filed accurately and systematically.
• Provide HR administrative support.
• Providing administrative support across all teams as and when required.

Grants Administration

• Coordinate grants programme shortlisting and assessment panel meetings.
• Schedule the Grants and Learning Team enquiry rota, events and 1:1s for prospective applicants.
• Collate photos, music and other digital assets from funded partner reports for use on our communications channels.
• Provide administrative support for our youth participation activities.
• Supporting our work with Funding Advisors, including scheduling training, checking availability, and tracking invoices.

General

• Carrying out all such additional duties as are reasonably commensurate with the role.

Battersea is undergoing a significant transformation programme (known as Launchpad) to deliver real change in the way we work with, utilise, and learn from data. Our new approach will enable smoother animal, customer and supporter journeys and will help us embed a truly data and insight-driven approach to decision-making at Battersea. With the programme underway, in the preparation for the first go live, this exciting role has been created within the new Data Applications team to ensure that all the system users are expertly supported.

This role, working within the Data Applications Team will initially contribute to the Launchpad programme by supporting training and UAT activity. Once the programme has been completed, this role will then be responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance needs for the new Salesforce Lightning CRM and other related applications as they are launched.

The Data Operations Team is responsible for the day-to-day running of WaterAid's CRM and Integration Hub. This responsibility requires that the team manage the input of data from external sources (import files from multiple agencies) via the Integration Hub and for the output of key financial processes such as the Gift Aid and Direct Debit claims, while ensuring that the systems are always available to end-users and that security and access are managed in accordance with best practice.

The team also hosts the Data Support function, providing resolution to most Data Operations related cases and allocating cases to other members of the wider department where appropriate.

About the Role:
As our positive and proactive Data Operations Officer you will play a crucial role in ensuring that key processes are efficiently executed and help to coordinate incoming support requests to the team. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of WaterAid's fundraising data, carrying out data quality checks and financial reconciliation.

You'll also be responsible for carrying out key financial processes from the database, such as Direct Debit and Gift Aid claims. We're looking for someone who is motivated and enthusiastic, with a high attention to detail and the ability to use their initiative to solve problems.

About You:

• Experience of working with data in a relational database
• Great verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent IT skills, with advanced experience of using Microsoft Excel and Word
• A solid understanding of the Direct Debit Scheme and Gift Aid
• Good understanding of fundraising products.

Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:

• Experience of using Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Experience of using a helpdesk application, with an ability to use initiative to prioritise effectively and provide support to colleagues.

The Role 
 
As a Marketing Officer (copywriting and content) you will build brand awareness and help to ensure the Yorkshire Cancer Research brand is accurately and consistently presented at all times. 

 
Supporting the the Marketing Manager you will ensure consistency in brand messaging, tone of voice and visual brand representation. You will extend the charity’s reach across Yorkshire by supporting the delivery of integrated marketing and fundraising campaigns. You will also communicate effectively to our supporters to strengthen our relationship with them, create high quality and engaging copy, brand and marketing collateral and supporter communications. 

Specifically, you will: 

• Develop high-quality, supporter-focused written marketing communications for a broad range of channels and supporter touchpoints. These shall consistently apply the Yorkshire Cancer Research tone of voice principles, use the key brand messages and always put the supporter at the heart of our charity’s communications. 

• You will work with the brand team to help to maintain, update and improve our charity’s messaging and will provide training, support and guidance to colleagues as required.

• Lead the development of messaging, copy, content and collateral to support marketing and fundraising propositions or campaigns.

• Lead the creation of written copy and marketing content / assets (including, but not limited to, case studies, photography, key messages, quotes, claims, digital and printed collateral) to support the needs of colleagues across the charity.

• Help develop copy for / lead the creation of key corporate communications, working with relevant Brand & Relationships team members (e.g. Fundraising / Communications). 

• Support the marketing team to develop a process for sign-off on copy and collateral, delivering a good customer service to colleagues / stakeholders while meeting governance requirements. 

• Work with the Head of Marketing or Marketing Manager to help project-manage the delivery of marketing and fundraising campaigns 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To be educated to degree level or equivalent qualification or have work experience in related field. 

• To have proactively worked to advance career through continued professional development relevant to the role and level. 

• To be knowledgeable about brand, brand guidelines, tone of voice and how to achieve brand consistency.

• To be knowledgeable about marketing and understands how to deliver effective integrated marketing campaigns.

• To have excellent copywriting and communication skills.

• To have experience of leading the creation of marketing campaigns / project, including the creation of key marketing assets.

• To have attention to detail and able to carry out tasks accurately, including proof-reading and editing. 

• To be highly organised with an ability to deliver projects on time, to budget and to a high standard.

• To have good collaboration skills. To be able to work effectively as a member of a team to deliver marketing campaigns and activities.

Social Media Manager

Salary: £37,620 per annum (i.e. pro-rata to the full-time equivalent of £46,354 per annum)

We are seeking a creative and dynamic Social Media Manager to join our Strategic Communications and Content Unit. This newly-created role manages a Social Media Officer, and works closely with Media, External Relations, Brand and Content teams in the Unit as well as a variety of colleagues across the organisation.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with our mission and goals. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our online presence and driving engagement with our supporters, creating and curating content that resonates with a range of audiences and inspires our online community to take action. You will lead on monitoring and analysing our social media activity in order to continuously improve our approaches. And you’ll forge strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, from influencers and partners to fundraising and programme colleagues in a variety of global contexts.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in social media campaign strategy and community management, ideally with line management experience. They will possess a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, analytical skills, and ability to react to trends and external events. And above all, they will be able to demonstrate a passion for gender equality and creating a safer, more just world for all children.
