You will lead all aspects of charity financial and resource management for two separate but closely connected charities, the Army Cadet Charitable Trust UK (ACCT UK) and the Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA), which are supported by a single head office team. We are looking for someone to bring enthusiasm, personal credibility, discretion and sensitivity. You will be ultimately responsible for Finance and Resource Management within the charities.
You will work directly with the trustees of both charities and the wider Senior Leadership Team (SLT) which comprises of the Director of Development, the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE) (Director of HR and Programmes), and the Chief Executive. You will have primary responsibility for ensuring that the charities meet their statutory obligations, that financial functions are well ordered and support the work of the charities.
Managing and leading a small and diverse team through high pressure periods including month end, year-end and annual budgeting, you require high emotional intelligence and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with staff at all levels, often having to mentor the charities’ managers to help them plan and manage their own budgets.
Your financial responsibilities are substantial as you will have overall control and responsibility for all financial matters. You will be thinking both strategically and seeing the big picture, whilst also analysing figures in detail to ensure that the financial management of both charities are sound. The Development Manager will play a pivotal role in deepening the connections between the school and our alumni and parent community to inspire financial support. - To assist in the delivery of practical dance and performance skills classes as and when required.
- To manage a caseload of participants requiring Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG), mentoring and confidence building

The Community Engagement Officer is an essential role in fostering strong relationships with current and prospective members of the School Library Association community. The postholder will provide frontline support, drive online and in person engagement through outreach initiatives, and contribute to the growth and sustainability of the membership base. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about school libraries, education, and community-building.
With a particular focus on coordinating and supporting our Branch network, you will collaborate on initiatives for development, delivery and new projects as they come online. You will be the first port of call for advice and expertise relating to school libraries and enabling our members to more effectively support their school communities. Supporting the delivery of online and in-person networking events and workshops for members, you will work with your SLA colleagues, in particular the Training and Events Officer, to deliver a high-quality member offer and to ensure member needs are reflected in all offerings. The ability to travel to training and events across the UK is essential. Duties include:
Branch network and member support
- Work with the CEO to develop the SLA Branch Network and accompanying strategies
- Identify opportunities for developing initiatives to grow and develop the Branch network community, that will deliver on the SLA mission
- Develop strong relationships with local, regional and national stakeholders to support network growth and enable members to take full advantage of all relevant opportunities available to them
- Provide advice for SLA members on all aspects of school libraries, ensuring they are supported and can be as effective as possible in their school communities

Training and events
- Work with the Training and Events Coordinator to support and deliver a calendar of exciting, engaging and informative events

Outreach and communications

Key Responsibilities
·Undertake some basic research (survey, FGDs) to support funding applications, enabling a case for this to be built in a convincing way.
- Champion TMF’s mission with funders, businesses, universities, schools and the media to raise awareness and increase engagement.
· Secure new partnerships with organisations aligned to our values and goals.
· Maintain strong, supportive relationships with secondary schools to help recruit mentees and grow programme reach.
· Contribute to funding applications, impact reports and relationship management with sponsors and supporters.
· Represent TMF at meetings, events, and conferences as our external voice.
· Develop and manage TMF’s social media and digital communications strategically. Use platforms that our target audience engages with to share our mission, celebrate successes, and build visibility. Create momentum through engagement with schools, funders, businesses, and partner organizations.

· Liaise with industry, businesses, universities and other partners to secure funding, develop partnerships, and create work experience opportunities for mentees.
· Produce a monthly highlight report for the Board of Trustees, summarising key activities, progress, relationships, and emerging opportunities.
· Contribute to strategic planning, programme evaluation, and updates to policies and documentation.
· Maintain accurate records of stakeholder engagement and communications.
· Uphold safeguarding, child protection, and equality duties as an integral part of the role.

Job Description: Training and Events Officer
The Training and Events Officer will play a key role developing and delivering high quality professional development, training, events, workshops to SLA members and wider audiences. The postholder will develop inspirational, insightful and innovative routes to supporting SLA members to deliver on their school library provision remit, enabling children and young people to reach their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about school libraries, education and training.
You will work with the CEO, SLA colleagues and key stakeholders to develop and deliver a comprehensive training offer, including leading on logistics planning and delivery of our flagship annual conference. In addition, you will develop and maintain a calendar of exciting events and opportunities to share knowledge and insight, working with colleagues to ensure the offer is timely and informative. A confident facilitator and coordinator, you will be comfortable leading on training delivery, or recruiting and working with external facilitators in order to achieve specific outcomes. Creative, with a flair for spotting opportunities for professional development, you will have a keen eye for detail and an ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines. Resource creation will be second-nature to you and you’ll be comfortable writing for adults and children, and young people.
Duties include:
- Logistics planning and delivery of the flagship event, SLA Annual Conference (currently called the Weekend Course) providing high quality professional development and networking opportunities to members
- With CEO and key stakeholders, supporting the development of a comprehensive, engaging and exciting conference programme and recruit 40 exhibitors, plus event speakers as needed
- Supporting development of the training strategy working with the CEO to define aims and objectives
- Developing and maintaining a calendar of training, workshops and events aligned with the training strategy, working with the CEO and SLA colleagues, in particular the Outreach Support Officer
- Creation of supporting resources, toolkits and lesson plans to increase training engagement and impact

To be successful in this role you should ideally demonstrate:

About the Role
As Schools and Holiday Club Coordinator you will lead two of the charity’s most important and growing initiatives: the local schools programme and Holiday Club provision. You will drive the engagement of young people by developing strong partnerships with local schools and delivering vibrant holiday activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with schools, teachers, and education bodies.
- Designing and delivering engaging educational programmes aligned with school priorities.
- Planning, promoting, and delivering high-quality Holiday Club activities during school holidays.
- Managing programme budgets and ensuring cost-effective delivery.
- Applying for and managing Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) grants and other relevant funding.
- Capturing and evaluating outcomes, feedback, and data to inform improvements.
- Line managing, motivating, and supporting a team of staff and volunteers.
- Ensuring activities meet the needs of all young people, including those with SEND.
About you:
You will be a passionate and committed youth work professional who brings creativity, energy, and focus to everything you do. You will have:
- Experience delivering face-to-face youth or schools-based activities for young people aged 8+.
- A proven ability to build strong relationships with schools and external partners.
- Skills in managing and motivating staff and volunteers to deliver excellent programmes.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and promoting equality and diversity.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.
- A flexible, positive attitude with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and during school holidays.
- A commitment to empowering young people and raising their aspirations.
About the organisation:
Our client is an independent charity and purpose-built youth centre for Barnet’s young people aged 8 to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs. They support North London’s young people with three things they deserve and need; somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to. Open 6 days a week including school holidays, their vision ensure every young person is supported and empowered to reach their potential.
