Job description

Helpline Parent Adviser

35 hours per week

We are Contact, a UK- wide charity for families with disabled children. We support families with the best possible guidance and information. We bring families together to support each other and we help families to campaign, volunteer and fundraise to improve life for themselves and others.

Your role:

We are seeking to recruit an experienced full time parent adviser (35 hours a week) to join our dynamic and friendly team in our Central London office. You will work on our busy helpline providing advice and information to families caring for a disabled child or young person, via telephone, email, social and digital.

 

What we are looking for:

This role is ideal for someone with direct experience of working on a telephone helpline. Ideally, you will have some experience of supporting families with disabled children.

You will have excellent communication skills with some knowledge of welfare benefits, social care, education, and NHS services as they affect disabled children and their families.

With an interest in providing high quality advice, and information, you will be committed to empowering parents to understand their rights and access their entitlements.
