The Role
We are looking for a Community & Events Fundraiser to play a pivotal role in maximising event and supporter-led fundraising income. 
 
You will develop and deliver growth strategies within your area of responsibility (across mass-participation events, virtual events & supporter-led fundraising) with support from the Head of Community and Events. You will also build great internal relationships with colleagues to enable delivery of the community & events programme.

The London LGBTQ+ Community Centre is an award-winning charity launched by a team of volunteers in 2017. In December 2021 we opened our first physical space in London’s Bankside.

Overall purpose of the role

To work alongside the CEO to meet our fundraising goals by:

This is a fixed contract to support the AMA in exploring income generation opportunities for Goose, an AI powered learning platform co-designed with heritage organisations for heritage professionals across the UK. Within this project we are looking to:

We are looking to work with someone who has experience of fundraising and sponsorship within the heritage sector.

We have developed Goose as part of an Innovation project funded by National Lottey Heritage Fund. We’ve been working with developers Make Sense of It to build an AI tool that understands the heritage sector, knows about its seasonal challenges, diverse audiences, limited budget and the balance between preservation and accessibility that defines heritage work.

You can use Goose to :

· Create social media content that brings history to life

· Develop marketing strategies for exhibitions and events

· Write visitor-facing materials

· Plan community engagement programmes

· Generate fundraising content

· Explore different approaches to common challenges

Within Goose you have the opportunity to work with Thinking Partners, a team of specialist advisors available 24/7 – a Digital Marketing Manager who knows heritage audiences, a Community Engagement Manager who understands local partnerships, a Fundraising Manager familiar with heritage funding streams. You can bring them into your conversations to support your thinking.

Goose is proving especially helpful for small teams and individuals with a lack of resource and access to a full range of specialist skills. Innovative solutions from one museum can instantly benefit a historic house three hundred miles away. We are not using AI to replace heritage professionals, we are using it to amplify their impact.

We are looking for a Senior Challenge Events Fundraiser to join our team at Scope.

As the Senior Challenge Events Fundraiser, you will help shape and deliver our Challenge Events Fundraising strategy. You will develop new ways to engage supporters, review and improve our fundraising events, and make sure our activities are inclusive and impactful.

Permanent, Full time (35 hours a week)

Location: Here East Press Centre, 14 East Bay Lane, London, E15 2GW and working from home.

The role

The role is focused on challenge events, with a combination of responsibilities across product management and event delivery.

You will:

· Help develop and implement Scope’s Challenge Events Fundraising strategy, using new ideas and feedback from supporters.

· Manage and deliver fundraising events and products from start to finish.

· Build and maintain relationships with individuals, groups, and organisations fundraising for Scope.

· Put our supporters first by developing inclusive supporter journeys and materials.

· Work with the team to create engaging programmes and activities.

· Regularly report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and support business planning.

· Monitor sector trends and ensure Scope’s challenge events remain competitive and up to date.

· Support compliance with fundraising regulations, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures.

· Collaborate with colleagues across Scope to align fundraising with our charitable goals and vision.

About you

We are looking for a passionate and experienced fundraiser. Someone who can meet and exceed income targets for their events and products.

You will:

· Have a proven track record in fundraising.

· Be experienced in managing and coordinating challenge event participants.

· Be experienced in analysing past campaigns and evaluating programme performance over time.

· Have in-depth understanding of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices.

· Have experience in project management and managing campaigns with multiple stakeholders.

· Have experience in managing external agencies and working with internal creative teams.

· Be familiar with innovation experience within challenge event fundraising.

· Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers and stakeholders.

· Have the ability to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies and campaigns.

· Have proven ability to meet or exceed fundraising targets and goals.

· Have strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess fundraising performance and make data-driven decisions.

· Be proficient using fundraising software and CRM systems.

· Have strong numeracy skills for financial data.

· Have project/event management skills.
