Over our three sites, we have over 600 volunteers supporting our organisation in a variety of ways, such as our ever-popular animal welfare roles in the catteries and kennels, office duties in all areas of the organisation and they also represent us at public events. We are seeking a Volunteer Services Manager to provide leadership, guidance and development to this Volunteering Team and act as an ambassador for volunteering across all Battersea centres and externally. They will have overall responsibility for recruitment and development of volunteers, policies and processes relating to volunteer involvement, and lead in increasing the standard of the volunteering experience across the organisation and creating new opportunities, in all areas of our work.

Your goal will be to ensure Family Fund’s strategy is understood, and that mutually beneficial relationships are formed. Responsibilities of the role
Co-ordinator – 70%
Day-to-day support across the charity including, but not limited to:

Providing personal assistant support to the Director of the charity

Support wider team with meeting bookings, arranging travel, charity guests, booking rooms etc.

Improve internal onboarding processes, hold ownership over key GMSN starter assets (e.g. Organigram, joiners handbook)

Look after shared email inboxes, ensuring all queries have an appropriate response in a timely manner.

Support the team with basic finance reporting and updating trackers, including setting up and maintenance of a variety of fundraising platforms.

Posting out materials and prizes, and hold ownership over the organisation of stock and materials in the storeroom.

Liaising with charity supporters via email, phone and at Global, including the support line.

Provide cover to the Finance and Grants Assistant in periods of absence (training will be provided)

Co-ordinate diary entries for quarterly Trustee and Finance Committee meetings, prepare Board packs, attend meetings, take minutes and ensure minutes are distributed in a timely fashion.

Support the Head of Finance and Governance with relevant Trustee checks and forms, ensuring compliance with Companies House and Charities Commission.

Collate monthly quarterly Global Board updates, liaising closely with SMT.

- Report as required to the commissioners and the Ruils Board of trustees
- Responsible for ensuring active promotion of the services to potential and existing clients and stakeholders and to ensure representation of Ruils at networking events.
- Work with the CEO and Fundraising Manager to ensure projects are fully funded and demand is well managed.

Black Rootz is a multigenerational growing project providing opportunities for Black and racially minoritised people to grow food for themselves, their families and their communities. Black Rootz was established in 2019 by a collective of Black growers in Haringey who recognised the need to organise to challenge the deep inequalities in the growing and food systems. Over the past 5 years, Black Rootz has developed a holistic practice for Black and racially minoritised communities incorporating intergenerational knowledge transfer, increased access to land and food sovereignty, regenerative environmental practices and reduced food inequality.
Black Rootz has been incubated as a project within The Ubele Initiative since 2019. As an established name in the growing community, it is now building towards an independent future.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Project Manager is a new role that will provide hands on management capacity to Black Rootz. The role will bring experience and energy to support the delivery and continued development of the project’s core activities; the Community Growing Programme and a new workshop series. The Project Manager will take on a management position and, with support from Ubele, help the project to navigate decisions that will enable Black Rootz to achieve its overall social, environmental, and operational ambitions.
The successful candidate will be central in Black Rootz’ journey towards a more independent and sustainable future. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with the complexity andholistic nature of Black Rootz and will be committed to its values. As a small team, the Project Manager will be as comfortable making plans and big decisions as they are rolling their sleeves up and being hands on to support the team. While this is a fixed-term contract, we expect the role to be extended and grow over time.

Role Purpose
The Community Engagement Manager (Maternity Cover) role will be a critical piece of our Community Programmes team, which provides support to founders at every stage of their startup journey. Graduate Community Engagement
- Maintain the community engagement strategy for enhanced engagement between founders and a more cohesive founder journey across all stages
- Maintain the end-to-end design and management of the founder experience in the graduate community platform (Circle)
- Helping founders to widen their networks and facilitate connections that can provide critical support and direction via our graduate community platform
- Work collaboratively across the Programmes team to ensure entrepreneurs who engage with Hatch are connected to the best programmes, resources and offers for them
- Maintaining a list of partnership perks for the community
- Understanding both founder needs and partnership opportunities and coordinate the creation of relevant resources, content and perks to meet these

Programme delivery and development

Transition Together is seeking to continue the work of deepening connection and growing the voice of the Transition Movement in England and Wales through the freelance engagement of three Network Weavers. This exciting project will see this team, supported by Transition Together staff, co-design an in person Transition Assembly early next year to guide the future of our Movement in the UK as well as build relationships with Transitioners across Wales and England and connect to emerging and established networks across the UK. Established success in coaching managers and leaders on various HR matters is essential to this role, empowering them to manage risk, resolve conflict, support their team members to excel at work, and foster cohesion and trust within a hybrid workforce.
