The Operations Assistant provides the coordination, administration and organisational support that enables New Wine's Operations Team to flourish. 

Working closely with the Head of Operations, this role supports the smooth running of the charity by coordinating recruitment administration, governance processes, office operations, compliance records, events and organisational systems. 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone at the beginning of their career who enjoys organising people and projects, improving processes and making things happen behind the scenes. You'll gain experience across HR, safeguarding, governance, operational planning and charity management while helping create the infrastructure that enables local churches to change nations. 
 

Roles and Responsibilities 

1. Operational Administration 

• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Operations Team.

• Coordinate operational workflows, ensuring tasks and priorities are delivered efficiently.

• Maintain operational documentation and filing systems.

• Support the implementation of new operational processes and improvements.

• Maintain shared operational trackers and action plans. 

2. People and HR Administration 

• Coordinate recruitment administration, including arranging interviews and communicating with candidates.

• Prepare contracts, offer letters and onboarding documentation.

• Complete safer recruitment checks including references, DBS applications and Right to Work documentation.

• Coordinate new starter and leaver processes.

• Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems.

• Support staff training records and mandatory compliance tracking.

3. Governance and Board Support 

• Coordinate Board, Trustee and Committee meetings.

• Prepare meeting packs and distribute papers.

• Take minutes and maintain action logs.

• Maintain governance registers and organisational records.

• Support the annual governance calendar and policy review programme.

4. Policies and Compliance 

• Maintain New Wine's policy library, ensuring documents remain current and version controlled.

• Coordinate annual policy review schedules.

• Maintain compliance trackers for Health & Safety, GDPR, safeguarding and organisational requirements.

• Support the administration of insurance renewals and operational documentation.

5. Office and Operational Systems 

• Coordinate the day-to-day running of the office.

• Liaise with office, facilities and IT suppliers regarding day-to-day operational matters.

6. Meetings and Internal Coordination 

• Manage meeting bookings, room reservations and logistics.

• Coordinate agendas and supporting documentation.

7. Events and Logistics 

• Support operational planning for the Summer Festival, Leadership Conference and other events.

• Coordinate logistics for staff team including catering, accommodation and travel.

• Prepare operational documentation and event packs.

• Support the Site Command Team through administrative coordination.

• Maintain organisational register 

• Ensure records remain accurate, organised and up to date.

Role Particulars 

Working Pattern 

Full-time, including weekly (Tuesday) in-person team meetings in London. The rhythm is as follows: All-staff meetings on 1st and 3rd week of the month, and individual Operational team days on the 2nd and 4th week of the month. The nature of this role means that some travel and working away from home will be required, as agreed in advance. Specifically, the post holder must be available for the annual leadership conference and the New Wine summer festival.

This role is eligible for hybrid and flexible working, with a minimum of 1 day in the London office a week 

Supervision 

The post holder will receive regular supervision from the Head of Operations.

World Cancer Research Fund champions the latest and most authoritative scientific research from around the world on cancer prevention and survival through diet, weight and physical activity, so that we can empower people to make informed lifestyle choices to reduce their cancer risk.

We are seeking an inspiring, strategic and collaborative leader to shape and deliver WCRF’s Health Information and Support strategy across three core audiences: the general public, health professionals and cancer survivors. The team turns WCRF’s scientific evidence on cancer prevention and survival into practical, accessible information, training and support based on our Cancer Prevention Recommendations. The postholder will lead and develop the team, ensuring its work is innovative, evidence-based, high quality and demonstrably effective.

Working across Science, Policy, Fundraising, Communications and Engagement, you will create new ways to share our health information, improve existing resources and services, and build impactful partnerships. You will ensure that public and patient insight shapes our work from cancer prevention to survivorship, strengthen programmes for health professionals and make effective use of digital channels. Responsibilities include contributing to our Medical Education programme, participating in working and steering groups and speaking at national conferences, networking at events, engaging corporate audiences and acting as a spokesperson in broadcast and print media. Ultimately, you will help establish WCRF as the go-to source of information and support on the links between cancer, nutrition and lifestyle.

The Farming Community Network (FCN) is a UK-wide voluntary organisation and charity that aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people in farming and ‘walk with’ people at times of difficulty and change. We have been described as a ‘lifeline’ and a ‘trusted friend’ by people we have helped, and support over 12,500 people in agriculture each year with a wide range of issues.

We are recruiting a part-time Trust Fund and Legacy Development Manager. You will be reporting to the Head of Partnerships.

You will build vital relationships with Trusts, Foundations and other grant providers, generating income and helping to ensure the financial sustainability of the charity.  

You will also focus on increasing the volume and value of legacies left to FCN and nurturing these relationships and opportunities.

Now is an exciting time to be joining FCN – we are currently delivering our three-year strategy (2025 - 2027) and we are working with a wide range of stakeholders to create a resilient farming future for the next generation of farmers.

You will be working under your own initiative for much of the time, and will need a valid, clean driving license and own transport. Mileage expenses are reimbursed.

Key responsibilities:

The Trust Fund and Legacy Development Manager will be responsible for:

Trusts:

- Lead on the development and delivery of a new trust fundraising strategy.

- Identify, research and write compelling applications to meet and / or exceed income targets.

- Oversight and management of relationships with existing and new trusts and foundations and delivering funding reports to a high and consistent standard, including evaluating impact.

- Writing and submitting high-quality bids and tailored proposals to secure charity funding from trusts, foundations, grant providers and other sources.

- Monitoring requirements of trust fund projects, including meeting deadlines and collating relevant information.

- Working with the Senior Leadership Team to identify opportunities and develop project proposals aligned to organisational strategy.

Legacy Development:

- Create and deliver an effective strategy for gifts in wills and in memory giving.

- Increasing income from legacies and wills, as well as maintaining and building legacy opportunities. 

- Ensuring legacy funds are utilised in accordance with the wishes of the donor.

- Managing relationships with donors, families and other stakeholders.

- Recording income and donor support accurately and maintaining databases.

- Acknowledge and celebrate gifts in wills to raise awareness throughout the organisation, with its followers, supporters, staff and volunteers.

- Working with colleagues to gather content and produce high quality and inspirational updates for legacy supporters and their families.

- Gather information from existing content and new sources to draft updates and other stewardship communications for individuals and legacy families.

- Identify case studies and stories from across our work, to show the impact of legacies and gifts in memory.

Essential Criteria:

Help build the operational foundations of a pioneering national nature-based mental-health service for young people.

We are looking for an experienced, highly organised Operations Lead to turn an ambitious pilot into a scalable national membership model.

Salary: £40,000–£45,000 per annum, depending on experience

Dose of Nature is a mental-health charity improving mental health and wellbeing through structured, evidence-informed engagement with nature.

We are establishing a Young Person Memberships service for young people and young adults under 25. Through this model, trusted youth, community, education and clinical organisations will be trained and supported to deliver the Dose of Nature programme in the places and services young people already know.

The first phase is an 18-month pilot with approximately four to six member organisations. It will test, refine and validate a model that can be scaled nationally.

About the role

As Young People’s Memberships Operations Lead, you will establish and manage the operational infrastructure needed to make this new service work.

You will manage the end-to-end journey for member organisations: from initial engagement and readiness assessment, through onboarding, training and implementation, to active delivery, reporting, learning and renewal.

Working closely with the Young Person Memberships Service Lead, you will coordinate the systems, information, people and processes that enable safe, effective delivery. You will be the principal day-to-day contact for member Lead Coordinators, ensuring that actions, milestones, documentation, meetings and reporting are followed through.

About you

You will bring significant experience in operations, programme management, service delivery or partnership coordination. You will have experience coordinating a complex programme across multiple organisations or delivery sites, and of developing practical systems, processes and workflows.

You will be confident managing partner relationships, maintaining action plans and risk logs, gathering and reporting data, and coordinating meetings, training or workshops. The Head of Vocations and Discernment will offer national leadership of the ongoing renewal of lay and ordained ministerial vocations in the Church of England. This will include a broad span from encouraging initial enquires through to the smooth operation of national discernment processes.

Leadership

• Lead the renewal of ministerial vocations across the Church of England at a national level to ensure the church has the lay and ordained leaders we need to fulfil our vocation to proclaim afresh the Gospel in every generation including this one.

• Lead the development and operational excellence of the Shared Discernment and Candidates Panel processes, ensuring that the processes meet the evolving needs of the whole church. This will include personally leading panels on occasion and ensuring that high-quality training for people involved in discernment continues to develop and evolve over time.

• Ensure that strong foundations of Christian prayer and discipleship are developed and maintained as key foundations for the renewal and discernment of ministerial vocations in the church.

• Build trust and confidence with key stakeholders, especially Bishops and diocesan officers working in vocations and discernment.

• Lead the national Vocations & Discernment team, developing and shaping the team as necessary, with a clear focus on delivering the renewal of ministerial vocations that the church needs.
