About the role

This is a standout opportunity to join a respected Housing Association in a pivotal leadership role, reporting directly to the Executive Director of Finance and operating at Senior Management Team level.

As Head of Governance & Compliance, you’ll act as the organisation’s regulatory focal point, ensuring strong governance, robust compliance frameworks and effective engagement with the Regulator of Social Housing. You’ll also take on the formal responsibilities of Company Secretary, working closely with the Chief Executive and Board.

This is a highly visible role where you’ll influence strategic decision-making, hold senior stakeholders to account, and play a key role in maintaining the organisation’s regulatory standing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on all governance, compliance and regulatory matters across the organisation
• Act as Company Secretary, ensuring statutory compliance and effective board governance
• Serve as the primary contact for the Regulator of Social Housing, managing returns and relationships
• Work closely with the CEO and Board, supporting governance effectiveness and decision-making
• Lead on Board and Committee recruitment, succession planning and appraisals
• Oversee risk management and assurance frameworks, including strategic and operational risk registers

The Senior Health Organiser will be primarily responsible for commissioning the delivery of health supporting activities and positioning our organisation to become a centre for innovation in health equity and community-led approaches to health creation.

The traditional healthcare system is set up to deal with sickness: making us better when we fall ill. Through our flagship Walworth Living Room project (see below) we aim to develop a space for a community facing rapid gentrification and growing inequality to gather, heal and build new visions of health: one rooted in our collective power and agency.

The aim of this work isn’t for Pembroke House to be commissioned by the state, but for us to support a flourishing community that traditional healthcare systems can respond and adapt to.

We’ve done a lot – from partnering with the South London and Maudsley NHS mental health trust on community-connections, to opening the Walworth Living Room with support from Impact on Urban Health, and resident-led research through our recent Social Model of Health work.

Today, the Walworth Living Room is home to a range of programmes that build community health through ranging from collaging, to fitness classes to shared meals. And it’s embedded in our wider-organising for a just neighbourhood – with a particular focus on food and housing.

We’re now looking for an inspiring individual to take this work to the next level, working with partners in and around Walworth to build and curate a programme that positions the Walworth Living Room as a pioneering centre for community-led health.

What is the Walworth Living Room?

The Walworth Living Room (WLR) is a space where people can hang out, enjoy various activities, build relationships with each other, eat, learn, share and create. Located in the All Saints Hall building on Surrey Square, it is a place where people can work together to develop models of collective support and of collective control over community resources. Staff and visitors work collaboratively to make decisions about how the space is run. 

The Walworth Living Room offers a free social space, activities, resources and workshops that support people to:

• Spend time with their friends, family and neighbours

• Meet new people and build new relationships with people of different backgrounds and experience

• Understand the value of social connections for individuals and society and the root causes of social isolation

• Share and practise the skills needed to sustain healthy community in a diverse neighbourhood

Who we’re looking for:

You will be passionate about a vision of health that starts with community and addresses the systemic barriers to health.

You will be a natural organiser, with the ability to build wide-ranging relationships and alliances with community groups and organisations who are working on programmes that build community health. Ideally, you will already have relationships with these types of organisations in and around Walworth. 

You will be a well-organised person who has experience with all stages of event and activity delivery, from planning, to logistics, to delivery, to evaluation and monitoring, and can ensure activities are delivered well from start to finish. You will have the ability to manage multiple streams of work simultaneously, keeping projects with different deadlines on track.

You will have experience working in low-income/working class communities and communities of colour. You’ll be someone who does not approach this work from a “saviour” viewpoint, but someone who respects the experience and expertise in the community, and who is keen to work alongside community members and the staff team to plan work that reflects the interests of the people who use the WLR. You will care as much about the process of planning and as you do about the events themselves. 

You will also understand the structure of the NHS locally and will be a credible and challenging voice in the ‘traditional’ health system, able to translate the work of the WLR and the interests of the NHS.

About the role:

You will provide trauma informed support to service users impacted by terrorism. Service users are at the heart of the work we do; working with the family, you will undertake a comprehensive needs assessment to agree a bespoke Support Plan that will include exploring the needs of children and young people within the family.

You will manage a caseload, completing actions agreed on Support Plans and reviewing needs with service users on a regular basis. You will advocate for service users with external stakeholders, agencies and aspects of the criminal justice system. Customer Service

Experience and Skills

Essential Experience

· 2–3 years’ experience in membership administration, customer service, event co-ordination or marketing or a similar administrative role, ideally within a non-profit, association, or professional membership organisation.

· Proficient in using CRM or membership management systems, including database management, reporting.

· Experience in administering membership or customer renewals processes.

· Ability to deliver high-quality customer service in a professional environment.

· Ability to write compelling promotional copy.

About the role:

As a Family Caseworker you will be joining a passionate and committed team who provide a high quality and bespoke support to our service users. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional trauma informed advocacy and support. You will be driven to make a difference every day with the ability to focus on the needs of vulnerable service users.

Once in post you will benefit from the mandatory comprehensive training programme which will build on your existing skills and experience to prepare you for the role. Homicide Service training includes, criminal justice process; trauma informed approach to support; supporting traumatically bereaved families; personal and professional resilience.

You will be based in the South Thames Valley, with a primary focus on Berkshire but will also be required at times to cover Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Hampshire. The role is home based, but with the expectation to travel within these specified regions as well as a requirement for occasional travel outside of these specified regions.

This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. Key Responsibilities:

About the Role

The Strategic Director is responsible for overseeing Reprieve’s casework, litigation, and advocacy in service of our mission to end the death penalty and abuses carried out in the name of “counterterrorism” or “national security”. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, the Strategic Director manages the Deputy Directors and Heads of teams. They are responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of Reprieve’s regional casework and thematic projects by providing the necessary resources, oversight, and strategic direction to senior staff.

The Strategic Director leads the development and implementation of the organisation’s strategy, manages the annual operational planning cycle, and oversees robust monitoring and evaluation processes. Working collaboratively across the senior management team, they help build Reprieve’s case portfolio and support an international network of partners and fellows, ensuring the interests of clients, families, and communities remain at the heart of all activity.

Key responsibilities include identifying cross-team strategic opportunities and challenges, maintaining high-level oversight of budgets, and ensuring all teams are sufficiently resourced and operate with rigorous processes for project and personnel management.

As a member of the Senior Management Team, the post-holder will coordinate closely with Reprieve’s Fundraising, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure casework is ethical, sustainable, well-resourced, and effectively communicated to funders and stakeholders.

Terms

The role is a full-time (five days per week) permanent position. The annual salary is £71,378 per annum less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance.

This role is based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work 2 days per week from the London office and the rest of the week from home. Applicants must have the current right to work in the UK, which will be checked prior to interview.

Your presence is important during core office hours, whether remotely or in the office. You will also be available outside of office hours in the event of an emergency, for example case developments that require urgent action. This is a role that may require travel and work outside of core office hours from time to time.
