We're looking for two kind, compassionate and resilient Specialist Support Workers to join our Mental Health Social Care Service in Tower Hamlets. No personal care or experience required.
£29,500 per annum, working 40 hours per week.

What you'll do:
This is not an exhaustive list of all the duties and responsibilities that may be required from time to time and is subject to change in accordance with the needs of Look Ahead.
- Undertake key-working responsibilities for a caseload assigned by the Manager
- Conducting regular flat checks and medication spot checks.
- Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs and potential risks and agree levels of support and actions
- Create support plans / risk assessment plans for providing appropriate services based on the assessment and reflecting the services and resources available
- Support customers to access local activities and services to maintain and improve health and well-being, avoid hospital admission, support to access and maximise welfare benefits

What you'll bring:
Essential:
- Up to NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent.
- Past or present experience in providing support to people with mental health, Learning Disability, Substance misuse and Autism.
Desirable:
- Worked in a customer care setting with transferrable skills.

This role offers the opportunity to be part of a successful national remote service, offering support via the phone or Zoom to affected adults in the UK. We are looking to recruit experienced Family Support professionals to provide these virtual support sessions to individual family members and sometimes groups. We are offering a number of roles at 15-20 hours per week, across 3-5 days, including Wednesday and at least 2 evenings per week (Mon-Wed).
Experience in supporting family members affected by someone else’s substance use is essential, as is experience with assessing and managing risk. Ideally, you would also have experience of working to support parents with their parenting and / or those experiencing domestic abuse. We offer fixed hours part time contracts within a friendly and supportive team. Whilst based at home and requiring the ability to work autonomously, Adfam prides ourselves on our supportive team ethos and working culture.
- Salary: £30,000 pro rata
- 6.5% contributory pension scheme
- Contract: One year with likely extension
This is a remote working position based at home.
Please note, although counselling skills and qualifications are welcome and valuable as part of a skillset for this role, these are not counselling roles. This is professional support work and requires additional experience or skills in substance use, social work, complex family work or a related field. The role requires directive and facilitative guidance and input. If you are a counsellor looking for typical counselling work, please do not apply for this role. Thank you.

Outreach Support Worker – Empower People to Live Independently and Thrive
Are you someone who’s compassionate, proactive, and loves helping others build confidence and independence? Do you enjoy being out and about, meeting people, and making a real difference in your community? If so, this could be the perfect role for you.
We’re looking for an Outreach Support Worker to join our team, supporting vulnerable individuals across the Braintree and Uttlesford area of Essex. You’ll be helping people overcome challenges related to mental health, physical health, and employment—so a full UK driving licence and access to your own car is essential.
What your day might look like
- Start by visiting customers in their homes, helping them maintain their tenancies and build essential life skills.
- Support individuals with navigating welfare benefits, accessing services, and building confidence.
- Liaise with external agencies to ensure customers get the right support at the right time.
- Provide crisis intervention when needed, always with empathy and professionalism.

- Holds a valid UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle
- Is happy to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
