Working on our Health Charity Partnership (HCP) with counterparts at the British Heart Foundation, and Cancer Research UK, this award winning, UK-wide partnership aims to improve the health of the nation using the retailer’s reach and influence.

You will be responsible for leading and delivering income generation, project managing strategic activities, and delivering against shared and charity specific goals. You will also contribute to the development and success of the Account Management Team, and support cross team-projects and take on additional tasks as required.

This role will also see you line manage a Partnership Officer (Account Management) who supports on the delivery of the Tesco Partnership.

We’re looking for a Supporter Care Executive to join our team

Salary:  £28,390

Base: Central Edinburgh/hybrid

Hours: Full time and permanent.  35 hours a week (9am-5pm Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break). The office is open 8am - 7pm daily and our hybrid working policy requires all full-time employees to work at least two days a week in the Edinburgh office.

About the role and why we need you

This is more than a customer service role. As part of our sector-leading Supporter Care Team, you’ll be building meaningful relationships with extraordinary people, our supporters, known as Curestarters. We’re seeking a HR Business Partner to join our fantastic People and Culture team.

Working with the Head of People and Culture you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth, efficient and values-driven delivery of HR operations across the organisation. Supported by a HR Adviser and HR Officer you’ll be responsible for the delivery of our HR operations across pay and reward, recruitment, learning and development, wellbeing, engagement and equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging. You’ll also partner with senior managers, supporting them by providing specialist support and advice that enables them to deliver their business plans.

We are looking for a Communications Specialist to join our UK office (London-based). Reporting to the Communications Director and the CEO  you will be responsible for supporting the fundraising, events management and private philanthropy teams as well as liaising with the media.

Your main responsibilities, in order of priority and time commitment, will include:

1. Writing content for newsletters, presentations, emails, etc.
2. Managing social media channels, including copywriting and proposing audiovisual content.
3. Writing communications materials for events, campaigns, etc.
4. Maintaining website content.
5. Coordinating annual publications (Annual Report and Impact Report).
6. Coordinating external suppliers (audiovisual, web maintenance, etc.).
7. Writing press releases and liaising with the media.

Requirements

1. 4+ years of experience. 
2. Degree in Journalism, Communications or related fields.
3. Professional experience with Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp or similar.
4. Professional use and management of social media platforms, mainly LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube.
5. Experience using design platforms such as Canva.
6. Fluent English communication skills.

The Role – What you’ll be doing 

As our Product Assistant (Mass Participation events), you’ll help deliver an exceptional supporter experience across our Charity owned mass participation events —playing a hands-on role in supporter care as well as supporting with logistics and day-to-day tasks required for event delivery. 

You will: 

• Be a first point of contact for product enquiries: managing shared inboxes, answering calls and providing friendly, timely supporter care. 

• Provide excellent stewardship to all supporters. Including acknowledging donations and maintaining the Charity database in line with Charity policies and procedures.

• Support the Products team with planning and delivering mass participation events across the portfolio of both in-person and virtual events.

• Help deliver our flagship event, The Banham Marsden March, including pre-event logistics and on the day support.

• Work with fulfilment agencies to ensure fundraising materials reach supporters in a timely manner.

• Keep events information updated across our website and in-hospital displays.

The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced healthcare profession/health related professional to join our existing team of Wellbeing Consultants embedded within established UK GenesisCare cancer treatment centres.

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with patients, relatives, GenesisCare staff team and Wellbeing consultant team and the wider Penny Brohn UK organization. We are looking for a professional who can work in a flexible, proactive, intelligent, and creative way. Candidates should have experience of working within private or national health related services and have knowledge, experience/understanding of complementary therapies or other support services.

Key role considerations

•  This role will involve working alongside our partner GenesisCare to ensure a holistic approach is taken in aspects of support and treatment.
• The bulk of the patient work is delivery of one-to-one sessions – completing holistic needs assessments, review appointments, consultations, mindfulness, and relaxation sessions.
• The Wellbeing Consultant is responsible for ensuring that patients and their relatives have a positive experience as they move through the Penny Brohn UK treatment support services at GenesisCare.

About the role

We’re looking for a Team Manager with extensive social work experience to manage our Northern Ireland Team. In this role, you’ll be supporting children and young people diagnosed with cancer by managing a team of social care staff who deliver services in line with our organisation’s service specifications.

This is a hybrid role; you will be based at the Belfast office, from home with representation within hospitals and the community.

About you

Our work is rewarding but also complex and demanding; you will need to be resourceful and resilient.

We are looking for a social work qualified experienced people manager to take responsibility for operational management and development of our social work services.

You will ensure that effective services are delivered to children and young people with cancer and their families through the professional supervision of our staff group, working across split sites.

You will have:

• You must hold an appropriate social work qualification.
• Extensive experience of working with children and young people including complex case work and risk assessment and care planning, caseload management and interagency working
• Experience of managing safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults, legislation, procedures and best practice
• Experience of supervising students and / or staff in a social care setting
• Experience of delivering support to young people and families via different mediums including individuals, groups and digital delivery.
• A proven ability to manage expectations of key stakeholders including staff and service users

This role is home-based with mobile working. Your home base needs to be in Wales (or close to the border - e.g. in Chester) as on a weekly basis you can expect to work across Wales to meet with supporters face to face approximately 2 to 3 days a week. As such, you must have a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle or the ability to travel frequently across the region. 

There will be a requirement to attend in-person team meetings based in the area on a quarterly basis and other parts of the UK when our wider fundraising territory and department get together. 

There will also be a requirement for flexible and out of hours working to support occasional evening and weekend activity and you will be compensated for this with time off in lieu.

• You’ll use your excellent written and verbal skills to support the HR Advisor and HR Lead to deliver a great HR service across the whole charity.

• You’ll use your great attention to detail to ensure letters are produced in line with our HR processes for internal staff and external candidates and that relevant processes, spreadsheets and systems updated.

• You’ll be the lead on administering compliance processes during the recruitment and onboarding process, using our HR system, collecting associated paperwork and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure good practice data collection and protection.

This role will be responsible for securing funding from charitable trusts and foundations, identifying new funders, preparing funding applications and managing the growth of a strategic portfolio of corporate partnerships. The Supporter Engagement Assistant will be at the frontline of our virtual challenges stewardship, supporting a rapidly growing supporter base and delivering exceptional supporter experiences. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, is highly organised and is eager to develop within a supportive and ambitious fundraising team.

While your focus will be on virtual challenges, you will also gain exposure to the wider Public Fundraising portfolio, with full training and support provided.

Key Responsibilities

Supporter Care & Engagement

• Be the first point of contact for virtual challenge fundraisers, responding to enquires on email, SMS, social channels and phone within agreed timescales.

• Manage supporter relationships and high-quality fundraiser journeys using PCR’s systems and tools, providing thoughtful stewardship that builds long term loyalty.

• Work with the team to continuously improve supporter experience using feedback and data

• Create and maintain FAQs, supporter resources and fundraising materials.

• Monitor acquisition advertisements and appropriately respond to comments.

Administration and database

Skills and Competencies

Our ideal candidate would have the following:

• Very good written and verbal communication skills – the ability to communicate clearly, empathetically, and professionally with a diverse range of people, particularly supporters and patients

• Very good attention to detail (e.g. with data entry tasks) and good IT skills (e.g. web applications and file systems).

• Excellent organisation skills and an ability to identify the best use of time to complete day-to-day tasks.

• Work effectively individually and as part of a team.

• A belief in PCR’s work, goals and our values: innovation, collaboration, accountability and empathy.

Desirable:

• Demonstrable or transferable experience of an administrative or support role, within an office environment.
