Community & Individual Giving Fundraiser
Bethlehem Care & Hospice Trust
Salary: £34,000-£40,000 FTE, pro rata depending on experience | Hours: 14.8-22.2 hours per week (0.4-0.6 FTE) | Location: Home-based; applicants must be based in Yorkshire | Contract: 12 months initially, with a view to extension subject to funding and performance
Build the community of supporters who will sustain Palestine's first and only licensed palliative care service
Bethlehem Care & Hospice Trust (BCHT) is a small UK charity supporting the development of specialist palliative and hospice care in Palestine. In August 2023, the service we support became the first licensed palliative care service in Palestine. Since then, its specialist nurses have cared for more than 350 patients and their families and delivered more than 5,000 home visits.
We now need to build the community of supporters who will help secure that service for the future. We are investing in professional fundraising for the first time and are looking for an enthusiastic, relationship-focused Community & Individual Giving Fundraiser to help grow our supporter base, develop community fundraising and increase regular giving.
The opportunity
This is a new role with considerable freedom to shape how BCHT develops community and individual giving. Working closely with Trustees, patrons, volunteers and existing supporters, you will initially focus on Yorkshire and northern England, where BCHT already has networks on which to build.
You will develop relationships with churches, schools, universities, Rotary clubs, community organisations, businesses and individual supporters; help people fundraise for BCHT; develop regular giving; and ensure that our supporters feel connected to the extraordinary work they make possible. You will also help us develop a more systematic approach to supporter communications, digital fundraising, stewardship and volunteer engagement.
This role could be for you if you have experience of community fundraising, individual giving, supporter engagement, marketing or relationship management; are an excellent communicator and natural relationship-builder; enjoy meeting people and are confident speaking to groups; can develop ideas and turn them into practical fundraising activity; can work independently; and want the opportunity to build something rather than simply inherit an established fundraising programme.
Experience of community or individual fundraising, regular giving, working with volunteers, CRM systems, or church, school or faith-community fundraising would be particularly valuable.
You will need to be based in Yorkshire and able and willing to travel regularly throughout the region.
BCHT is inspired by Christian values of compassion, dignity and service. Applicants should be sympathetic to the values and mission of the charity. The palliative care service we support is provided to people regardless of faith, ethnicity, background or ability to pay.
What we offer: flexible home-based working; 25 days' annual leave plus UK public/bank holidays, pro rata; and a workplace pension scheme with a 5% employer contribution, subject to scheme rules. You will have considerable scope to shape BCHT's community fundraising programme from the outset and direct access to Trustees and supporters.

Oasis Hub Waterloo is looking for a Community Youth Work Manager to lead and develop our youth services for young people aged 10+ across North Lambeth.
Oasis Hub Waterloo has been part of the Waterloo community for more than 20 years. We’re an ambitious, inclusive and Christ-centred organisation working alongside local people to build a community where everyone is included, can contribute and can reach their potential.
Our youth service has been working with young people in North Lambeth for more than a decade. We provide accessible, supportive and trauma-responsive services that help young people build confidence, make positive choices and thrive in our community.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to shape and lead our youth work at a time of development
You’ll manage a small team of youth practitioners and sessional workers while staying connected to frontline delivery. You’ll oversee and deliver group activities, after-school drop-ins and one-to-one mentoring, as well as developing holiday programmes, youth leadership and social action opportunities.
You’ll also help shape the future of our youth provision, working with colleagues across Oasis Hub Waterloo to develop our 0–18 strategy and create new, collaborative services.
Partnership working is central to the role. You’ll develop strong relationships with Oasis Academy South Bank, local youth organisations, community partners and statutory services, helping connect education, health and community provision around the needs of young people.
About you
You’ll bring significant experience of working directly with young people aged 10+, alongside the skills and confidence to lead and develop a youth service.
You’ll have:
· Strong youth work practice, including group and one-to-one work.
· Experience of developing and delivering youth programmes or projects.
· Experience of managing or supervising staff, sessional workers or volunteers.
· Strong partnership and multi-agency working skills.
· A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
· Experience of monitoring, evaluating and improving services.
· Creativity, initiative and the ability to develop new opportunities for young people.
· A genuine passion for helping young people thrive.
Knowledge of youth services in Lambeth or Southwark, and experience of education, youth leadership, social action or statutory services, would be particularly welcome.
Join us
You’ll join an innovative and supportive charity where you’ll have the opportunity to make a tangible difference to young people and help shape the future of youth work in Waterloo.

About the role
Do you want to help lift some of the most vulnerable in our communities out of poverty? Do you want work with a small, compassionate, dynamic charity, and help change lives? If so, we would love to talk to you.
This is a crucial role to support our Advice Services team. They are the gatekeepers of our work, being the first point of contact for our clients, most of whom will be struggling and may be both emotionally and physically vulnerable. You may be the first person many of our clients will have spoken to about their issues and being able to put them at ease in a professional, yet warm and friendly manner is incredibly important. You will get to make the first impression of Crosslight and help build trust and engagement from the very start.
The role is varied but will involve handling new client enquiries in person and on the phone, understanding their situations, assessing their needs, booking and coordinating appointments, providing information, and acting as an advocate for the work we do.
About Crosslight
Crosslight works to lift people out of poverty and help them build a better future. We long for our communities to flourish and for no one to be left behind, and our vision for our staff and volunteers is more than just a job, it is an opportunity to make a difference.
Crosslight was born out of the ministry of the local church and retains a strong Christian ethos which informs and underpins the values by which we operate. Our calling is to work in partnership with local churches and community organisations to serve anyone in need, irrespective of their race, gender, religion, sexuality or any other characteristics. Together with our partners, we strive to effect lasting change and increase the capacity of our clients to realise their full potential.
We are of our community and for our community – we are ‘all together’, and we would love for you to join us.
“Working for Crosslight has been life changing for me. I love the people that I work with and the supportive environment that has been created – everyone really looks out for each other. Crosslight really cares about their clients and treats everyone as an individual. It is hugely rewarding.” Sarah, staff member
