This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled line manager with experience in general welfare advice to join Sufra NW London. In this highly rewarding role, you will oversee the delivery of services that can measurably change lives by providing quality advice and support to those most in need.
You will manage our team of advice staff and volunteers to deliver high quality advice, information and welfare support to guests on a range of topics including benefits, housing, debt and immigration issues. An additional focus will be on establishing clear pathways for referring guests to external services, and managing volunteers to triage, signpost and refer guests to other forms of welfare support.
The advice team consists of paid staff and support volunteers. This year will be dedicated to consolidation of the service, ensuring that we are fulfilling our core mission to the highest standards. We are also hoping to launch our immigration advice service, providing guests with a first point of contact for their immigration needs and smooth referral pathways to specialist advice.
Finally, our OpenARMs programme will be launching workshops for our refugee and asylum seeker communities.
You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, especially Head of Advice at Sufra to support the implementation of new initiatives, and the expansion of our information and advice services to enhance our efficiency and impact.
The post holder will be a highly articulate and proactive individual with good welfare advice knowledge, 3+ years delivery experience in managing a charity team, strong service management skills, as well as experience managing staff and volunteers. The ideal candidate will have up-to date knowledge of the welfare system, immigration and safeguarding protocols. They must also have demonstrable experience using a case management system, adhering to advice standards and be able to manage a diverse workload and work under pressure.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cafe Worker to assist with the day to day running of our community cafe! This role will support the initial set up and launch, day to day running and ongoing development of our small, friendly community café.
The role includes serving customers, preparing food and drinks and helping to create a welcoming environment for everyone, while maintaining a clean and organised café environment. Also, to support groups in the café and to contribute ideas and effort to help the café grow as a friendly, inclusive and sustainable community space.
The Café offers the following:
- Opening Hours 10.30am – 2.30pm
- Types of food – drinks and healthy snacks throughout, pre-ordered (can be on the day) main meals 12.30pm - 1.30pm
- Types of clients – staff and volunteers, clients on-the-day (from any service), plus current / former / prospective non on-the-day clients as ‘members’
- Pricing – reasonable / community rates (as compared to other local provision), with provision for discounts (e.g. doing a ‘paid for’ activity)
Key Responsibilities Include:

Taking orders, serving customers, and answering questions about the menu. Being respectful and inclusive to all café visitors and contribute to the development of a safe, welcoming environment.

Preparation of food and drink.

Operate the till with card transactions.
- Maintain excellent hygiene and health & safety standards, including clearing and wiping tables, washing up, and ensuring the kitchen and seating areas are clean and tidy.
Food hygiene certificate is desirable. Full training will be provided. This opportunity would suit someone friendly and approachable with excellent customer service skills. We also require the individual to be punctual, reliable and trustworthy and respectful of all community members, including vulnerable groups.

We are seeking a Finance Officer with excellent numerical skills and attention to detail, and good inter-personal skills to join our friendly Finance Team at Yeldall Manor. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for helping others to join a Christian organisation dedicated to supporting men in their journey of recovery from addiction to drugs or alcohol.
As Finance Officer, you will support and deputise for the Finance Manager in all aspects of the finance role including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, bank and cash reconciliation and the processing of donations (please see the Job Description for more details). You will also support our residents in the management of their money and benefits and accompany them to relevant appointments. A driver’s licence is essential for this role.
You will have relevant accounting/bookkeeping qualifications e.g. AAT Technician Level and have experience of financial management, ideally in the not-for-profit sector. You will be a quick learner, able to manage multiple priorities and enjoy working as part of a small team that has a real impact upon people’s lives.
Yeldall Manor is a Christian organisation, and this role requires a committed Christian faith to meet the occupational requirements (in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010). We ask all staff to engage with and support our residents in their recovery journey, offering encouragement in both practical and spiritual matters.
This is a full-time, permanent position (40 hours per week) although 32 hours would be considered for the right person. You will work as part of a small, friendly team within the Finance & Fund-Raising office, located in a beautiful rural setting outside Reading. Free lunch is provided daily with staff and residents. Remote working is not applicable for this post.
