Job Title: Duty Independent Gender Violence Advocate (Duty IGVA)

Location: The GAIA Centre in Lambeth, London
Salary: £23,761.08 per annum, inclusive of London weighting allowance 
Contract type: Part Time, Permanent 

Hours: 30 hours per week (Tuesday-Friday). Please note that the the operating hours of the service are 8AM- 6PM Monday- Friday with the expectation to work on some days 8- 4pm or 10- 6pm to cover. 

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Duty Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to be the first point of contact for women who are impacted by domestic violence. You will work closely with victims of domestic abuse from the point of crisis and other gender-based abuse to provide high quality independent support to survivors all risk levels and their children..

In this role you will be part of a busy team. You will be the first point of contact for survivors who have been referred to the Gaia Centre. The duty IGVA will be responding to daily enquiries (specify from whom- public, agencies, individuals? over the phone and email as well as contacting survivors, assessing their risks and needs.

The duty IGVA will be responsible for carrying out and implementing safety plans and needs and will ensure an effective handover to the over to the relevant GAIA team for ongoing support. The post holder will also empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support. You will ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options. The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

Woman’s Trust is a leading mental health charity supporting women affected by domestic abuse. For nearly 30 years, we have provided free, trauma-informed counselling, therapeutic groups, and workshops to help women rebuild their emotional wellbeing. We are seeking a Head of Fundraising and Development to lead our fundraising team and play a key role in our Senior Leadership Team. You’ll be joining Woman’s Trust at a pivotal moment, as we build on nearly 30 years of specialist expertise to meet growing demand, expand our services for women and girls, and extend our influence through training, research, partnerships and policy to create lasting change. As demand for our services grows, we aim to double the number of women we support annually, achieved in part through growing our income.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing new funder and partner relationships across trusts, foundations, statutory bodies, and corporates.

• Strengthening existing relationships to secure sustainable, multi-year funding.

• Leading fundraising growth, aiming for £3m by 2027/28.

• Collaborating with the CEO, trustees, and Senior Leadership Team to shape fundraising strategy and operational delivery.

• Leading an passionate team of fundraisers to maximise income generation opportunities.

We seek a highly motivated, ambitious fundraiser with proven experience at a senior level, securing five- and six-figure and multi-year grants. You should be skilled in relationship building, with a keen interest in communicating and influencing key stakeholders to create strategic partnerships that align with priorities. An interest in mental health and supporting women affected by domestic abuse will be essential.

We are looking for a Medical Procurement and Logistics Coordinator to strengthen the way we procure, manage and move essential medical supplies and equipment for our humanitarian programmes and emergency responses.

Based primarily at our Manchester warehouse, you will provide dedicated capacity across our Procurement and Warehouse teams, coordinating the full supply-chain pathway from purchasing and receipt through to storage, stock management, shipping and dispatch.

With a particular focus on pharmaceuticals, medical consumables and medical equipment, you will help maintain accurate, compliant and deployment-ready stock. Working closely with our Supply Chain Manager, Warehouse Manager and Pharmacist, you will support the day-to-day operational management of medical commodities while ensuring appropriate pharmaceutical standards and controls are followed.

We’re looking for an organised and solutions-focused supply-chain professional with experience across procurement, inventory management, warehousing or logistics. You will be confident working with suppliers, maintaining accurate stock and procurement records and coordinating activities across different teams. Experience handling medical supplies, pharmaceutical products or equipment would be particularly valuable.

The role requires approximately 15% international travel and deployment—normally around six to eight weeks per year. During deployments, you may support procurement, warehouse and stock management, international shipping, distribution and emergency resupply, working closely with clinical, logistics and programme colleagues.

You’ll join a collaborative team and play a vital role in strengthening the systems that enable UK-Med to respond quickly and effectively when emergencies happen.

The role builds on initial helpline contact to deliver enhanced, focused support, including proactive follow-up and advocacy with statutory and voluntary agencies to secure safe outcomes. An exciting opportunity for a Head of Health Information and Support has arisen at World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF).

World Cancer Research Fund champions the latest and most authoritative scientific research from around the world on cancer prevention and survival through diet, weight and physical activity, so that we can empower people to make informed lifestyle choices to reduce their cancer risk.

We are seeking an inspiring, strategic and collaborative leader to shape and deliver WCRF’s Health Information and Support strategy across three core audiences: the general public, health professionals and cancer survivors. The team turns WCRF’s scientific evidence on cancer prevention and survival into practical, accessible information, training and support based on our Cancer Prevention Recommendations. The postholder will lead and develop the team, ensuring its work is innovative, evidence-based, high quality and demonstrably effective.

Working across Science, Policy, Fundraising, Communications and Engagement, you will create new ways to share our health information, improve existing resources and services, and build impactful partnerships. You will ensure that public and patient insight shapes our work from cancer prevention to survivorship, strengthen programmes for health professionals and make effective use of digital channels. Responsibilities include contributing to our Medical Education programme, participating in working and steering groups and speaking at national conferences, networking at events, engaging corporate audiences and acting as a spokesperson in broadcast and print media. Ultimately, you will help establish WCRF as the go-to source of information and support on the links between cancer, nutrition and lifestyle.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of implementing strategy, developing business and operational plans, and leading high-performing teams. 

You will bring substantial experience in areas such as health information or education, working with healthcare professionals, UK health policy, health science or research, or marketing health information and services. You will be confident in measuring impact, managing budgets and using data to improve performance, with strong knowledge of non-communicable diseases and issues including nutrition, obesity, diet and physical activity. An excellent communicator and relationship-builder, you will be proactive, creative and results-focused, able to operate at senior management level and open to using digital, AI and other emerging tools to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
