Job summary including context
Young Women’s Trust champions young women on low or no pay. We’re here to create a more equal world of work and raise young women’s incomes. We tackle sexism and misogyny, with and for anyone who has experienced this.
We offer young women free coaching, feedback on job applications and information to help them get where they want to be. We bring together a thousands-strong network to support each other, build their self-belief, and have their voices heard. We work with young women and anyone who experiences misogyny and sexism to campaign for equality in the workplace. And our research provides insight into what young women’s lives are really like, fuelling our campaigns for change.
These are not easy times to be a young woman. The rights and freedoms previous generations fought for can feel up for grabs – sexism is growing louder, online abuse is on the rise, and too many young women are still held back by low pay, insecure work and unequal caring responsibilities. At Young Women's Trust, we believe it doesn't have to be this way, and we're growing our fundraising ambition to match the scale of the challenge.
You will lead a newly united fundraising programme that has brought together corporate partnerships, major donors, and trusts & foundations - an area that already contributes over 80% of our fundraised income. You'll strengthen existing relationships and secure new partnerships to support our mission: creating a more equal world of work and increasing young women's incomes.
EDI statement and sense of flexible working and workplace culture
Young Women’s Trust strives to be an inclusive and representative organisation. We are committed to appointing individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, lived experiences and cultures. We particularly encourage applications from racially minoritised candidates. We use positive action under section 159 of the Equality Act in relation to race. This means that if we have two candidates of equal merit in our process, we will seek to take forward the racially minoritised candidate in order to diversify our staff team.
You’ll be joining a team that will embrace your ideas and support and encourage you to bring your whole self to work.
We can make reasonable adjustments throughout the application process and on the job. If you have particular accessibility needs, please get in touch and let us know any requirements you may have.
Young Women’s Trust is a Living Wage employer and we commit to Show the Salary for every job we advertise. Non-graduates are welcome and we offer a wide range of flexible working options including job share, part-time and compressed hours, different start and finish times and working from home.
We offer:
You must have the right to work in the UK to apply for this role. We are not able to sponsor work visas for non-British applicants.
Deadline to apply: 9am Monday 14th September.
Interview dates: 16th, 17th September

We have an exciting opportunity for an emerging lawyer with exceptional writing and communication skills and a passion for fighting corruption and injustice, to join our small and growing team as a Legal Fellow.
This one-year fellowship offers a unique springboard for an aspiring barrister or solicitor through its combination of practical legal experience (encompassing commercial, public and criminal litigation) and specialist policy exposure in the fields of economic crime and corruption.
Who we are
Spotlight on Corruption is a UK-based charity, founded in September 2019, that shines a light on the UK’s role in corruption at home and abroad. We want to see a society with strong, transparent and accountable institutions which ensure corruption is not tolerated and democracy flourishes both in the UK and globally.
We track how the UK is implementing its anti-corruption laws and monitor the effectiveness of anti-corruption enforcement in the UK. We build the evidence base for reform through our unique court monitoring programme as well as investigative research and extensive engagement with experts and frontline practitioners. The successes of our legal work include intervening in a major Court of Appeal case to safeguard the UK’s anti-money laundering regime, supporting a challenge to reveal the identity of a major political donor in a dirty money case, and winning the right to publish the jury bundle in a high-profile trial about a corrupt arms deal.
Acting as policy entrepreneurs, we develop innovative and pragmatic solutions and disseminate our work through hard-hitting reports and briefings to inform decision-makers and the general public. We follow through with dogged advocacy, working in a highly collaborative manner to build consensus for reform.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a recent law graduate or early career professional with an outstanding eye for detail, strong analytical and research skills, and demonstrable experience in writing and communicating persuasively.
Working closely with our tight-knit and dynamic team, you will help deliver our unique court monitoring programme by following major cases related to corruption and economic crime that are heard in the UK courts. This work will give you invaluable first-hand exposure to legal proceedings across a range of courts and tribunals in England and Wales – not only high-profile criminal prosecutions and asset recovery proceedings, but also major commercial litigation and other civil claims, as well as judicial review proceedings and regulatory enforcement action.
As the Legal Fellow, you will benefit from the mentorship of a leading barrister as well as other support when drafting court applications or submissions and scoping potential opportunities for strategic litigation that could advance Spotlight’s advocacy objectives. Working closely with the Deputy Director, you will also engage with a range of lawyers who advise Spotlight on strategic litigation opportunities. In the course of this work, you will help build our relationships with the legal sector as well as strengthen our relationships with law enforcement agencies, civil servants, journalists, and civil society partners, particularly in the Global South.
Drawing on your close monitoring of court cases and engagement with law enforcement agencies, legal practitioners and other experts, you will contribute evidence-based research, briefings, blogs and commentary on core areas of our work. This will require forensic attention to detail, strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, and a flair for communicating complex issues in a compelling and accessible way.
You will be confident working with complex legal materials and following court proceedings while showing enthusiastic, creative and strategic engagement with the broader policy issues arising from our casework. You will feel comfortable drafting briefings to inform parliamentarians and influence decision-makers as well as contributing blogs and rapid-response social media commentary on key developments to advance Spotlight’s key messages.
The successful applicant must be London based in order to attend court hearings and regular team meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
Checking court lists, attending court hearings and writing accessible, high-quality monitoring notes
Assisting with the drafting of applications and representations to the court on open justice issues including access to court documents and reporting restrictions orders
Developing case studies for our corruption cases database
Drafting briefings, blogs, social media content and other outputs on legal developments and implications of cases
Preparing and presenting briefings on the implications of cases and potential litigation opportunities
Undertaking research and analysis on key cases and the facts behind them
Developing and managing partnerships with civil society partners in the Global South on issues arising from court cases, such as joint applications or press statements.
Person Specification:
Essential
Excellent degree in law or a non-law degree with a law conversion course (GDL/PGDL)
Superb written and verbal communication skills
Strong skills in information-gathering, research, analysis and investigation with an exceptional eye for detail
Proven ability to prioritise and juggle multiple complex tasks
Proven ability to work on own initiative while maintaining strong communication with team members
Strong organisational and administrative skills including IT proficiency, and a rigorous approach to maintaining records
A strong interest in corruption and economic crime issues and laws
Eligibility to live and work in the UK
London-based
Desirable
UK-based practical legal or court reporting experience
Completion of the Bar Vocational Course (BVC), Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) or Legal Practice Course (LPC)
Experience of policy research and advocacy in a non-governmental organisation
Working arrangements:
Full-time, 35 hours per week, subject to discussion with the suitable candidate. 30 days of annual leave (plus public holidays). Largely remote working but must be London-based in order to attend court hearings and regular team meetings. Flexible working available, including a nine-day fortnight.
Responsible to: Deputy Director
Start date: mid-October 2026, or as soon as possible.
Interview dates:
Short-listing will take place in w/c 14 September 2026.
We anticipate that interviews for short-listed candidates will take place via Zoom in w/c 21 September 2026 (first round) and in-person in London in w/c 28 September 2026 (for those who progress to the second round).

Citizens UK
Citizens UK is the UK’s biggest, most diverse and most effective people-powered alliance. We bring communities and local organisations together to work on issues that matter; from campaigning for zebra crossings on dangerous roads, to reforming the immigration system, to the Living Wage campaign. We have a track record of winning change through hundreds of local and national campaigns. We know everyday people have the ability to shape the world around them. We believe that through developing local leaders, we can drive nationwide change and create community-led solutions to big and small problems.
Living Wage Foundation
The Living Wage movement began in 2001, after Citizens UK brought together communities in East London to discuss poverty and low pay. The campaign grew in momentum and soon required a mechanism to recognise employers who wanted to join the movement, which saw the establishment of the Living Wage Foundation in 2011.
Still part of Citizens UK today, the Living Wage Foundation continues to work with community organisations to make sure the voices of both workers and businesses are part of the Living Wage movement. We now work with over 16,000 employers, benefitting over 475,000 people and winning over £3bn of better wages for people who need it most.
Citizens UK works with a broad base of institutions across the political spectrum. At the Living Wage Foundation, we take the same deliberately broad-based approach and accredit all organisations who pay the real Living Wage to their directly and indirectly employed staff and are committed to tackling in work poverty. As a team we work across a range of industries and sectors to achieve this mission. We seek pragmatic coalitions in order to progress specific campaigns, and partnership around a particular issue such as Living Wage, does not imply an endorsement of broader purpose and policies.
Purpose
At Citizens UK, our organisers and project staff work within communities to develop leaders, strengthen organisations, campaign for change and organise across difference. There are various project roles and operational, communication, finance and HR roles that support the organisation and project staff and organisers to deliver on this mission and work. More information about how we operate within this context and build trusted relationships across difference can be found on our website and is covered in induction. Charity People is delighted to be partnering with Kingston University to recruit their next Head of Alumni Engagement & Operations.
Kingston University has spent over 125 years transforming lives through education, innovation and opportunity. With TEF Gold recognition across the board, and a Town House Strategy that's rewriting what a modern education looks like, we are focused on helping students develop the skills, networks and experiences to thrive throughout their careers. Integral to this ambition is our global community of more than 280,000 alumni, who's futures have been shaped by the university.
As Head of Alumni Engagement & Operation, part of the senior leadership team of our Development, Alumni Relations and Engagement (DARE) team, you will help us build lifelong relationships with our alumni to support future growth and success.
About the role:
We have a 3-year strategy in place to develop alumni engagement, increase participation and embed philanthropy more deeply across the University, with full support of senior leadership across the board. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our growing team and work with senior stakeholders across the University, to champion the role alumni can play in student success, employability, mentoring, partnerships and philanthropy, and develop a lifelong alumni offer.
Reporting in to the Director of DARE, you'll lead a broad portfolio including alumni communications, events, volunteering, individual giving, CRM, data insight and operational delivery.
About you:
We're looking for someone who understands the power of communities and relationships.
This is a broad leadership role spanning alumni engagement, communications, volunteering, individual giving, CRM, data insight and operational delivery. While experience within alumni relations or advancement in higher education would be valuable, we're equally interested in hearing from candidates from the charity, membership, fundraising, supporter engagement or relationship management sectors. What matters most is your ability to build communities, create meaningful engagement opportunities, use insight to drive decision-making and inspire people to connect with a shared purpose.
You'll be strategic enough to shape the future direction of alumni engagement at Kingston, whilst remaining hands-on enough to build relationships, spot opportunities and bring colleagues and stakeholders with you.
You'll bring:
Most importantly, you'll believe that alumni engagement is about much more than communications and events. You'll be excited by the opportunity to help graduates become mentors, volunteers, advocates, partners and lifelong supporters of the University.
