The role

We are seeking a motivated Business Development Intern to support our Development Team across fundraising, donor engagement, partnerships, and grants.

This full-time, 12-month internship offers hands-on experience within an international nonprofit and is ideal for someone passionate about social justice and international development.

Key responsibilities

Fundraising and campaigns

• Support planning, delivery, and evaluation of individual giving campaigns and fundraising events

Join us as a City Network Coordinator and play a vital role in strengthening the voluntary and community sector (VCS) across the City of London. This role offers the opportunity to connect organisations, amplify community voices, and drive meaningful collaboration.

You will be building on work that was started in August 2024 to develop and coordinate a VCS network in the City of London. Fundraising and supporter engagement

• Engage and support individuals, communities and local businesses to fundraise for Duchenne UK, providing outstanding stewardship and care throughout their journey.
• Recruit participants for both ‘run your own’ and third-party challenge events (runs, cycles, walks, skydives, etc.), developing long-term relationships with supporters – including families directly connected to the Duchenne community.

We are seeking an experienced mental health professional to join our exciting new project, working with those engaging in gambling harms behaviours and affected others. The role will include various workstreams to the service, including: crisis de-escalation, casework, psychoeducation workshops and facilitating a space for peer-led activities.

Your role as a support worker will be to de-escalate those in a state of crisis which is exacerbated or influenced by gambling related behaviours. You will be expected to manage crises within a drop-in model. You will be expected to hold your own caseload of clients, providing 1:1 bespoke advice surrounding gambling and mental health support. In addition, you will aid in facilitating peer-led psychoeducation groups addressing root causes of gambling and a safe environment for loved ones to build meaningful peer connections. You will be joining a small team and be expected to work in partnership with your peer support workers and service lead. Digital Fundraising Officer - 12-month Maternity Cover

The Veterans' Foundation is entering its second decade with a clear ambition to build a more sustainable, diversified and data-led fundraising model. Following ten years of rapid growth driven primarily through lottery acquisition, the organisation is now evolving its approach to strengthen supporter engagement, improve retention and maximise fundraising performance across a wider range of income streams.

This role will play an important part in that transition. As the Foundation launches a new website, develops its use of Salesforce and strengthens its supporter communications, the Digital Fundraising Officer will help deliver effective digital fundraising and engagement activity across multiple channels. The postholder will support campaign delivery, manage digital content and platforms, and use data and insight to improve performance and supporter experience.

Principal Duties

The main duties of the Digital Fundraising Officer are:

Air Ambulances UK (AAUK) is the national charity supporting the lifesaving work of the UK’s air ambulance charities, enabling them to save even more lives every day.

Purpose of Post

The Policy and Public Affairs Officer will play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of AAUK’s policy and public affairs strategy, aligned with its manifesto.

The role will support engagement with Government, Parliament, and key stakeholders, contribute to policy development and analysis, and help coordinate AAUK’s public affairs activity, including APPG engagement, parliamentary events, and sector-wide influencing work.

The postholder will ensure that AAUK’s policy positions are evidence-based, clear, and impactful.

Key Responsibilities

Policy Development and Analysis

• Support the development of AAUK policy positions across health, emergency services transport, aviation, infrastructure, and other related policy areas supporting AAUK’s manifesto.
• Monitor Government consultations, legislation, and policy developments, producing clear briefings and summaries.
• Contribute to policy papers, consultation responses, briefings, reports, and parliamentary materials.
• Gather insights from stakeholders to inform policy development.
• Support horizon scanning and identification of policy risks and opportunities.

Public Affairs and Parliamentary Engagement

• Support engagement with MPs, Peers, Special Advisers, Civil Servants, and regulatory bodies.
• Assist in the coordination and delivery of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Air Ambulances, including meetings and secretariat support.
• Support planning and delivery of parliamentary events, receptions, roundtables, and stakeholder meetings.
• Track parliamentary activity relevant to AAUK priorities (debates, questions, committees, inquiries).
• Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across Westminster and devolved governments. 

Stakeholder Engagement and Communications

• Work closely with the UK's air ambulance charities to align messaging and policy priorities.
• Prepare briefing materials for internal and external stakeholders.
• Liaise with communications and fundraising colleagues to ensure consistent and accessible policy messaging.
• Support campaigns and influencing activity across priority policy areas.
• Maintain accurate stakeholder engagement records and tracking systems.

Research and Intelligence

• Conduct research into relevant policy, legislative, and sector developments.
• Monitor political and media developments, providing timely updates and insights.
• Contribute to evidence gathering and analysis to support policy positions.
• Support evaluation of policy and public affairs activity.

Role Overview:

This role is a member of the organisation’s management team and has responsibility for the delivery of our flood support work. The postholder will lead the delivery of a professional helpline service and oversee reactive and proactive flood support services to communities and business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Flood Support: Lead and manage high-quality proactive and reactive Flood Support Services for communities and businesses at risk of, and impacted by, flooding, including helpline & recovery services and management of the flood support vehicle. Ensure service quality through performance management, maintaining service consistency, maximising strategic impact, championing best practice, and delivering against objectives.
• Stakeholder relationships: Develop and maintain key partnerships with Risk Management authorities, (RMAs), and other stakeholders. Act as senior engagement lead, providing a clear escalation route and positioning National Flood Forum  as a trusted, informed critical friend for flooded communities.
• Research and Evidence: Oversee flood support research, collecting and evaluating evidence to strengthen advocacy. Provide insight to support policy and practice influence.
• Income: Identify, scope, and lead the development of high-quality engagement contracts, working with teams and management to prioritise and secure income.
• Political and Fundraising support: Provide data, case studies, and research to support political engagement and fundraising. Attend relevant meetings.
