Mansfield College is seeking an exceptional fundraising professional to join its high-performing Development team, at an exciting moment in the College’s history. This role is also responsible for ensuring engaging stewardship opportunities for donors to the College at all levels.

We are looking for an experienced events expert who can plan, deliver and evaluate a diverse portfolio of impactful, high-profile events designed to inspire, engage and mobilise current MSF supporters and recruit new ones.

The Events Manager will lead the strategic planning, delivery and evaluation of diverse portfolio of impactful, high-profile events designed to inspire, engage and mobilise current supporters and recruit new ones. 

The post-holder will ensure that events align with MSF UK’s mission and values, while maximising engagement, awareness and return on investment. 

They will play a pivotal role in fostering relationships with key stakeholders and driving MSF UK’s supporter engagement strategies forward. 

They will collaborate across departments, manage budgets, and provide actionable insights to continuously improve MSF UK's public engagement efforts. 

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri

Ideal candidate

As a Senior Support Officer, you will primarily be responsible for raising awareness and providing a high-quality support and advocacy service to our members and their families.   You will be a relationship builder who cares about the community we serve and ensures that the individual (or family) remains at the centre of support.  You will have experience in multi-agency working and an in-depth understanding of the needs of those with disabilities, their families and carers.  Demonstrable experience and knowledge of health and social care, education and relevant assessment processes are essential. 

As deputy safeguarding lead officer for both shildren and vulnerable adults you will take the lead in the absence of the safeguarding leads and be confident sharing your knowledge with new recruits through mentoring.

You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to uphold best practice, challenge poor policy and inappropriate decisions.  Excellent IT skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver to tight timescales are essential.  You will be self-motivated and highly organised, juggling many strands of work. 

As part of a small, dedicated team, you will have a positive attitude and a willingness to work collaboratively with your colleagues and external parties to raise awareness, advocate for our membership, as well as supporting the delivery and development of services for the MPS Society community.

Whilst a relevant qualification within health & social care, education or a related field is desirable, other knowledge and work experiences may be equally as valuable in this role. Prior knowledge of MPS and related conditions is not required however a special interest in neurology and working with individuals with neurological disabilities is advantageous.  In-depth support and training to develop expertise in MPS and related conditions, and the needs of those affected by these progressive, life-limiting conditions will be provided.

Role Description

This position plays a pivotal part in GovAI's future success — if staff are distracted by bureaucracy or have a poor experience with our internal processes, our impact as an organization suffers. Your role is to help ensure that people operations runs smoothly and efficiently.

You'll execute people operations processes from onboarding through ongoing employee support, making sure that staff have an excellent experience and that all compliance requirements are met. You'll report to the People Ops Manager, and work closely with other members on the team.

Responsibilities will include:

• Executing onboarding and offboarding processes:
  • You'll directly manage onboarding for new staff, visiting researchers, and contractors, ensuring they have everything they need and know how to navigate GovAI effectively.
  • You'll handle offboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions when staff depart.

Salary and Location

This position is full-time. Our offices are located in London, UK, and we strongly prefer team members to be based here, but are open to individuals who would need to work remotely in exceptional cases. We are able to sponsor UK visas.

The People Ops Associate will be compensated in line with our salary principles. As such, the salary for this role will depend on the successful applicant's experience, but we expect the range to be between £66,000 (~$88,000) and £80,000 (~$108,000) if based in London. In rare cases where salary considerations would prevent a candidate from accepting an offer, there may also be some flexibility in compensation.

About the role:

This is an ideal post for someone with experience and interest in bereavement work, looking to join a forward thinking, new service. This is also a great chance to be working alongside the Healthcare & Education Department within HMP Bronzefield and be part of a prison services team in Advance.

Using a trauma informed approached, the Loss & Bereavement Specialist will conduct a person-centred assessment to understand the extent of the client’s emotional needs and the impact of loss due to imprisonment or contact with the criminal justice system whilst also identifying practical and specialist needs. They will work with women to develop a support plan, ensuring they are equipped with information and knowledge about how to navigate possible changes in circumstances related to her children’s care and offer crisis intervention and support during acute phases of loss/bereavement.

The Loss & Bereavement Specialist Worker will liaise with the Prison Healthcare team, OMU, visits team and the Family Support Officer to facilitate interactions between women and their children/family members, particularly considering support is in place after visits and that the women’s emotional needs are met in custody and community via our Women’s centres.

The Specialist Worker will create a link between prison and the community, helping women to navigate support services and to positively re-integrate into their community upon release. The role will combine a casework- based approach, along with a signposting and advice service for the women. They will be based in the community and will provide a drop-in service in HMP Bronzefield to support women who are close to release.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential.

About You:

To be successful as the Loss & Bereavement Specialist Worker you will need the below experience and skills:

Experience of working with bereaved individuals and providing grief counselling including knowledge of various therapeutic modalities relevant to grief counselling

Comprehensive understanding of the grieving process and experience of working with bereaved and loss as well as knowledge of traumatic and complex grief/loss.

An understanding of violence against women and girls and its links to women in the criminal justice system.

Proven ability and experience as a caseworker delivering trauma responsive interventions which support resettlement and rehabilitation of vulnerable people in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons

Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload including maintaining and updating records, remaining focused on action plan goals, and keeping to deadlines

The Role

As the Financial Controller, you will report to the Finance & HR Director and support the Finance & HR Director in leading day-to-day financial operations, taking ownership of transactional accounting and month-end reconciliations. You’ll maintain the general ledger, ensure data integrity across systems, and manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control functions. The role involves coordinating payroll, preparing management accounts and VAT returns, supporting budget preparation and assisting with year-end accounts and external audits.

You’ll also manage the Assistant Finance Manager and play a key role in the organisation’s financial stability and operational success.

In your roles, you will work closely with the Finance & HR Director to support the development and implementation of Financial Policies and processes and ensure compliance with all laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the month-end reconciliation process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including credit control activities, with support from the Assistant Finance Manager.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure data integrity between accounting systems.
• Coordinate payroll administration and liaise with external payroll providers.
• Prepare management accounts and financial reports.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with regulatory requirements.
• Support budget preparation and variance analysis throughout the financial year.
• Assist with external audit processes and year-end financial statement preparation.
• Support the Senior Management Team with guidance on Financial Policies and Processes.

Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a hands-on finance role with transactional accounting responsibilities.
• Proven experience managing the month-end close and preparing management accounts.
• High-level Excel proficiency and ability to work with financial data confidently.
• Experience with accounting software (Xero experience is advantageous).
• Proactive self-starter with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Experience in the charity sector, including technical expertise in Charity SORP, is advantageous.

The post-holder will work alongside Development colleagues to identify funding opportunities both in the UK and internationally. The post-holder will have responsibility for securing significant new funds to support the strategic priorities of our £300 million fundraising campaign which covers a wide range of areas. This work will focus particularly on proposals for four and five figure gifts.

The post-holder will assist the Senior Development Manager, Trusts and Foundations, in cultivating currently engaged and new trusts, foundations and charities. They will work with the Senior Development Assistant (Research) to grow the pipeline of giving through research into suitable trusts and foundations whose aims are closely aligned with the strategic priorities of the University.

The post-holder will have experience of trust and foundation fundraising accompanied by a sound knowledge of university fundraising. They will be a creative and strategic thinker and possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work proactively, both internally and externally. Jangala is seeking an ambitious and strategic Fundraising Manager to sustain and grow our income from trusts, foundations and corporate partners. This is a hands-on role for an experienced fundraiser who enjoys translating complex work into compelling funding propositions and building strong relationships with supporters. Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will lead on our trusts and foundations pipeline, manage key corporate partners, write high-quality funding applications and support the development of our stewardship and wider fundraising strategies.

This is initially a 6 month contract, with the aim of becoming permanent subject to funding. As Jangala is a growing organisation, you will also help shape fundraising tools/processes and there is potential for this role to evolve according to your skills, interests and development goals over time.

Key responsibilities will include:

Trusts & Foundations

• Leading a pipeline of UK and global trusts and foundations and other grantmakers, including researching and cultivating new opportunities, developing proposals, coordinating internal inputs and submitting high-quality bids

• Managing relationships with our current funders, with a focus on stewardship, reporting and renewals, ensuring accurate, timely and engaging updates on progress and impact

• Working with Head of Fundraising to review our current pipeline, refine our trusts and foundations strategy and identify our approach for priority opportunities, including National Lottery

• Developing and implementing a clear stewardship strategy for trusts and foundation funders

Corporate Partnerships

• Account managing key corporate partners to maintain strong relationships and identify opportunities to deepen engagement over time

• Leading on partnership planning, relationship management, partnership storytelling, impact reporting and, where relevant, corporate volunteering activities

Fundraising Strategy & Support

• Working with programme and technology teams to develop a strong understanding of Jangala’s work and translate this into compelling fundraising narratives

• Supporting the Head of Fundraising with pipeline management, forecasting and fundraising planning

• Maintaining accurate records in Jangala’s CRM and funder tracking systems

Financial administration

Administration of the donations inbox, liaising with current donors and prospective donors for simple queries. Ensuring good organisation of the inbox with a clear labelling system.

Draft donation acknowledgement letters for donors to acknowledge donations received.

Management of donations management system (Raisers Edge), including:

review of potential duplicate donor records

ensuring accurate documentation and declarations for Gift Aid donors

making edits and updates to donor records as and when required.Maintenance of the tracker for Raisers Edge issues to ensure these are managed and dealt with appropriately.

Follow up with donors who have expressed an interest in Gift Aid.

Liaising with the Comms team to ensure maintenance of supporters contact list.

Digital archiving of paper-based records held within the Finance Department.

Support Finance Managers with the organisation of the shared drive and the Sharepoint site.

Management of Finance policy and procedure documents library on the shared drive, ensuring these are up-to-date and accessible to staff.

Scan letters received for finance and deal with these appropriately (sharing with the relevant individual and/or filing on the shared drive).

Download bank statements on a daily basis and save on the shared drive.

Financial controls

Reconciliation of simple balance sheet accounts (e.g. petty cash, debit notes, deposit accounts) on a monthly basis.

Rconciliation of properties bank accounts and deposit accounts on a monthly basis.

Support the Finance Officer (Income) with donations collections and trips to the bank to deposit cash and cheque donations, ensuring all cheques and cash received are banked promptly and securely.

Provide assistance with the annual audit and the preparation of the statutory accounts, particularly with regard the provision of supporting documentation.

Host finance inductions for all new staff members.

Financial processing

Manage the corporate credit card process and user register, including onboarding of new users.

Issue monthly credit card statements to staff members for their expenses submissions.

Conduct first finance review of monthly credit card submissions and collate the supporting documentation submitted, ready for posting.

Collate Out of Pocket expenditure claims and conduct a first review of these before processing by the Finance Officer (Expenditure).

Support the Finance Officer (Income) with quarterly donor pledge statements process.

Post property and Victoria Hall interest, bank sweeps, and charges into Business Central.

Supporting others

Perform any other financial duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Financial Controller, Properties Finance Manager, Head of Finance and Operations.
