In this role, as a Support Mentor, you will work within a 24 hour service which provided person centred support to our residents, working to ensure the safety and wellbeing. Our residents have experienced multiple forms of exclusion, such as historical/ongoing abuse, involvement in the criminal justice system, mental health challenges, drug and/or alcohol dependency and enduring high levels of violence and coercion. You will build trusting professional relationships with residents, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations which could be through tailored one to one sessions, group sessions, in and out of service activities, and general wellbeing check ins. Your role will focus on empowering our residents to take control over their lives and meet their personal goals

This is a new position within CWJ, and will involve working with our CEO, Harriet Wistrich, on potential miscarriages of justice relating to women who have offended in response to male violence. Cases will range from convictions arising from coerced offending, counter allegations, victims of trafficking and grooming gangs, to advising on appeals by those convicted of murder or manslaughter at the CACD and CCRC.
We would consider the role at 30 hours per week.
Role Purpose
To lead and supervise legal work challenging the criminalisation of women who have been prosecuted for offences that have arisen as a result of male violence, coercion or abuse. The role will provide expert oversight of complex criminal appeals and review cases, ensuring that women’s experiences are properly recognised within the legal process and that cases are progressed to the highest professional standard using a feminist, trauma‑informed approach.

About the team
The Income Generation Directorate at Shelter comprises of the five departments, delivering a mature fundraising programme that has seen continuous year on year diversity and growth. The directorate generates over £48m gross income each year, of which a high percentage is unrestricted.

The Role
What we're looking for
We are seeking an experienced applications professional with strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach. You will have experience providing 2nd and 3rd line support for enterprise systems, ideally including Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Customer Engagement) and the Power Platform. You will be confident troubleshooting incidents, carrying out root cause analysis, supporting integrations, and maintaining system performance and data integrity.
You will be comfortable configuring and enhancing applications to meet evolving business needs, supporting upgrades and releases, and contributing to continuous improvement. Strong stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as you will work closely with colleagues across the organisation and external suppliers. You will also have an understanding of information security, GDPR, and governance requirements, along with experience supporting project delivery, testing, and go-live activities.
You will have a varied role that combines operational support with improvement and project work, allowing you to make a visible impact on how the organisation operates. You will develop technical expertise, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and contribute to systems that support an important professional body and its members.
