The Role at a Glance

Youth Mentor / Regional Team Lead (we call it Senior Programme Coordinator)

Luton and Stevenage
£28,000 – £34,000 per year
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, including up to two evenings per week until 7pm

What you’ll be doing

As Senior Programme Coordinator, you'll help make sure that support reaches as many young people as possible and that it's delivered to a consistently high standard.

You'll lead a small team of sports coaches and youth mentors, helping them plan great sessions, develop their practice and overcome the day-to-day challenges that come with the job. You'll also build and maintain strong relationships with schools, alternative provisions and community partners to keep programmes running smoothly.

This is a hands-on role. Alongside keeping regional delivery on track, you'll still spend time working directly with young people: being a positive presence, modelling good practice and helping create the kind of safe, engaging environments where young people can thrive.

You'll also take the lead on the activities that go beyond our weekly sessions such as organising holiday programmes, Career Taster Days, regional trips and events that give young people experiences they wouldn't otherwise have. These are some of the most rewarding parts of the role and a real chance to see young people shine in a different context.

Building relationships in the community is a big part of this too. You'll get to know the local area, embed yourself in the networks around it and find partners, venues and opportunities that help deepen out work and enhance our engagement with young people.

You don't need to know anything about rugby to do this job well. What matters is your ability to connect with young people and the communities around them.

What you'll need

• Experience delivering programmes or interventions for young people facing significant challenges
• A qualification in Sports Coaching, Youth Work, Teaching or a related field
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• The ability to travel regularly across Luton & Stevenage
• Flexibility to work up to two evenings per week (until 7pm)

 At Dallaglio RugbyWorks, we support young people 12-18 who have been excluded from education or at risk of exclusion. Using sport as the starting point and mentoring as the foundation, we help them build confidence, resilience and the skills they need to create brighter futures.  Rugby helps start the relationship, but the work goes far beyond sport. The charity uses mentoring, life skills, wellbeing support and career-focused activities to help young people build confidence and prepare for life after school.

Our work focuses on four areas: life skills, raising aspirations, physical wellbeing and mental wellbeing and the aim is to make sure exclusion from school does not become exclusion from society. You’ll be part of a team giving young people consistent support, trusted adults and practical chances to move towards education, employment or training.

In this strategic senior role, you will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to provide stable leadership to staff and residents in the delivery of the day-to-day leadership of the organisation and residential addiction recovery / resettlement programmes. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will help lead and motivate the organisation through transformational change to more effectively and sustainably deliver our mission – to help those affected by addiction to heal, transform, and thrive.

Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills are essential. About your team  

You’ll be joining our brilliant South Region team, which covers our largest region from Kent to Cornwall, offering numerous opportunities to contribute your expertise in a variety of contexts, from urban and suburban to coastal and rural settings. Across the south region, we currently work with 130 churches and have 150 faith guides, we’d like to see these numbers grow significantly over the next few years.

You’ll have a fantastic opportunity each summer to get hands on engaged in these mission and festivals throughout the year.  

Our South Region also includes our vibrant capital, one of the most multicultural and ethnically diverse cities in the world, with over 300 languages spoken. With many like-minded missional organisations having a footprint in and around the capital, and all of the Christian movements and denominations represented here, London holds key strategic value and will be the focus of your ministry activities. We are looking for a friendly, organised and reliable Administrative Associate to join our international charity team at our Berlin office. In this varied role, you'll provide essential administrative and operational support across the organisation, while acting as a key point of contact for colleagues, partners, visitors and members of our global community, many of whom do not have English or German as their first language.

You will play an important role in helping our Berlin office run smoothly and professionally, while also contributing to the continuous improvement of internal systems and processes that keep teams connected and effective — including close coordination with our Executive Team in London.
Working collaboratively across departments, you will use initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and support the implementation of practical solutions using platforms such as Airtable and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar and Gmail).
Excellent written and spoken German and English are essential for this role. You will be the first point of contact for our Berlin office, communicating confidently and empathetically with individuals from diverse backgrounds — and representing UWC International to visitors, suppliers and partners in Germany.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in creating efficient and well-organised ways of working, and is excited to be part of a purpose-driven international organisation based in the heart of Berlin.

This is a part-time, permanent, office-based position in Berlin working 16 hours per week, which can be arranged across 3–4 days to suit you. The flexible schedule makes this a great fit for anyone balancing other commitments alongside work.
