As a support worker you enable people with learning disabilities to live safe, fulfilling, and dignified lives in supported accommodation or their own home.  We have positions available across a variety of services in Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, Camden, Islington, Southwark and Hammersmith & Fulham.

In each of our services we support approximately 5-10 people. We support people with a range of support needs from low to high; with old age/ dementia, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), autism/mental health.  We also operate outreach services for people who live more independently. We work on a rota which includes working some weekends, early and late shifts. If you prefer to work nights, we also have some services with waking night shifts.

We currently only have vacancies in services where manual handling is an intrinsic and regular part of the job.

Job Title: Housing Support Worker

Location: Brent. Step‑free access is available at our main office. However, due to the nature of the role, you may be required to visit homes and other buildings that do not provide step‑free access

About the Role

We're hiring a Housing Support Worker to join our floating support service which is based in Brent. The service supports adults who have been or are at risk of homelessness, have experienced social exclusion, have previous criminal convictions, suffer with their mental health, and substance misuse, and/or could have a learning disability. You will support participants on their journey towards recovery, reablement, and independence, all within a compassionate, trauma informed environment.

In this role, you'll be at the heart of delivering high quality, person centered support through tailored support plans which provide practical interventions, to empower our participants to overcome personal challenges, develop life skills, and achieve their personal goals. You will also work closely in partnership with various organisations to support the different needs of our participants, which may include signposting. Key Responsibilities Include:

• Support participants will all aspects of their housing needs to support them ensure sustainable housing.
• Co-create tailored support plans which are centred towards the participants needs.
• Signpost participants with local providers to support with their independence such as with Job Centres, employment support hubs, community support centres, mental health trusts and other as relevant.
• Recognise support needs in an individual and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent further deterioration.
• Complete safeguarding and other referrals where required.

JOB PURPOSE

We are a team with a desire to provide excellent stewardship to our donors and maximise our fundraising potential in the UK. As the first point of contact, this role plays a vital part in ensuring our supporters receive a high standard of customer service.

You will manage our supporter care inbox and phone line, handling everything from donation enquiries to complaints with empathy and efficiency. You will also support with processing post and ensure our donors receive the appropriate acknowledgement for their support.

United Kingdom for UNHCR is the United Nations Refugee Agency’s national charity partner for the United Kingdom. We generate public awareness of the plight of refugees and raise funds to help protect them through UNHCR’s humanitarian operations across the world.

The funds we raise help UNHCR deliver emergency relief such as shelter, medical care and basic supplies to people fleeing conflict and persecution, as well as healthcare, education and livelihoods opportunities for those who remain displaced over the long term.

Role Responsibilities  

• Manage and respond to those who contact UK for UNHCR directly by email, phone or mail and escalate queries where necessary.
• Deliver a first-class supporter experience and ensure each point-of-contact works to build and develop the engagement journey.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date supporter records within the charity database, assist with data administration, and ensure data is handled in accordance with regulations.
• Champion supporter care best practice by resolving supporter pain points, sharing supporter insights and feedback with colleagues, and supporting fundraising teams in evaluating campaign performance to identify opportunities to improve the supporter journey.
• Assist with fulfilment agency briefs and quality control measures.
• Work with teams, agencies and third-party platforms to deliver donation processing and campaign fulfilment, ensuring efficient donor acknowledgment
• Support fundraising teams during emergencies.
• Support the fundraising team to deliver high quality in person events in as well as virtual stewardship events.
• Provide personalised in-house thanking for different supporter segments and deliver thanking initiatives such as a thankathons.
• Provide logistical and administrative support for supporter engagement activities and stewardship events, including coordination of materials, attendance lists and on-the-day support.

Personal Attributes and Experience

Essential Experience

• Experience of working in a customer care environment, interacting with supporters/customers.
• Experience of dealing directly with supporters/customers and remaining calm whilst responding to queries.

 Essential Skills/Knowledge

• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks within a collaborative team environment.
• Works effectively under pressure.
• A proactive self-starter with a drive and desire to learn and develop.
• A creative problem-solver who anticipates supporter needs.
• Passionate about UK for UNHCR’s work and want to help drive change and share this with others.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable Skills/Experience (not compulsory)

• Experience using Salesforce or similar customer relationship management products/fundraising databases.
• An understanding of fundraising administration such as Gift Aid, marketing preferences, and direct debits.
• Experience of or interest in the charity sector, in particular humanitarian response/international development.
• Experience of working with an external fulfilment agency to deliver excellent customer service in a similar environment.
• An understanding of how to keep customer data safe and handle sensitive information responsibly, in line with relevant regulations.

About the Role

Headway East London is looking for a compassionate and motivated Community Support Worker to support adults living with brain injury across our 13 London borough catchment area. You will support members in their own homes and local communities. This is a varied, people-focused role where you will work one to one in the community, helping individuals live with greater independence, confidence and choice.

We have 3 available positions, two permanent contracts and a one fixed term contract for 12 months (maternity cover).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Conduct support sessions to a regular caseload of members in the community as a lone worker with remote office assistance.
2. You will work to maximise and maintain their autonomy and independence in their home environment or within the local community.
3. You will work collaboratively with the member to plan, organise and implement daily activities by developing daily and weekly structure and wellbeing plans.
4. You will be responsible for being the first responder, with remote manager support, in the event of any incidents, safeguarding issues or behaviour that challenges during support sessions.
5. Accompany and support members to appointments with health and statutory care providers and provide accurate notes for future reference.
6. Accompany and support members to access social, leisure, educational and vocational activities in the community.
7. Maintain a maximum income for members through completing benefit and grant entitlement and assist with financial budgeting.
8. Provide appropriate and relevant advice, information and advocacy to members and their families. Where appropriate liaise with other professionals and statutory and non-statutory organisations to make referrals or signpost to appropriate support services.
9. Maintain accurate and factual monitoring notes on our online database and report any incidents.
10. Conduct and monitor specific therapy / support / rehabilitation and risk management plans in accordance with case managers, therapists and other cprofessionals as required.

The Royal College of Radiologists is seeking a Service Desk Support Coordinator to join our high performing and well respected IT team. The team supports both day to day office users and the College’s expanding, business critical examinations operations, which represent a significant part of our income and reputation.
