General Overview of Role

The post-holder will be responsible for writing bid applications within Combat Stress. This will include:

• Support the development and delivery of Combat Stress's bid writing under the leadership of the Director of Fundraising (DoF) and Head of Trusts and Foundations (HTF), in order to support our role as a specialist UK-wide provider of mental health services to veterans with complex mental health needs.
• With guidance and support from DoF and HoTF contribute to the various stages of a bid or tender process.
• Support the team in managing service contracts.
• Ensure compliance with the business development framework and governance processes - with support from DoF and HoTF.

Main Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Complete bid writing in support of the business development agenda of Combat Stress, working with all departments in promoting our services to attract new business and supporting cost-effective service delivery.
• Contribute to our revenue generation agenda by owning and contributing to bid documents such as mobilisation or communication plans.
• Support the assessment of the healthcare market within which we operate, to ensure we are best placed to achieve growth and have the appropriate strategies to mitigate risks
• Support the development, monitoring and delivery of business developments plans, systems and processes in line with our strategy and targets
• Work across departments in order to adhere to the full service specification of the bid or tender.
• Work with the DoF to develop existing partnership arrangements and to develop the case to support new service and business partnerships, commercial ventures, and creative contract solutions to further our strategic aims.
• Manage the "bid/no bid" process to lead our responses to ITTs, lead on bid writing and project management of bid submissions
• Produce reports and proposals, including spreadsheets, involve bids for additional funding from commissioners.
• Review and refine all business development processes and templates to maintain "fit for purpose"

Contract Management

• Assist with the development, monitoring, management, and review of contracts.

Communication

• Contribute to the communication strategy within and external to the Charity
• Support the team on any other projects as requested by the DoF

General responsibilities

• Ensure data collection in general is kept up to date, in accordance with legislation and the policies of the Charity, and incident reports are completed in accordance with the policies of the Charity.

Risk Management

• As an employee of the Charity, the postholder is required to be risk aware and readily able to identify risks faced in the course of day-to-day duties. Where a new risk is identified it is to be reported through the postholder's line manager

In this new but key role you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Negotiating Officer to manage and support our stewards, safety and equality representative networks across Yorkshire and Humber region, advising them in providing individual and collective industrial relations support to members, working both in and outside of the NHS. You will also be expected to spend approximately 25% of your time, managing cases from across the UK, but predominantly from nearby regions.

The postholder will work in collaboration with other health trade unions across the region.

You will work with the CSP regional team to recruit and organise members, influence on local workforce issues and promote physiotherapy.

You will provide representation for members at disciplinary hearings, grievances and disputes with employers, and provide general advice and information to representatives and members on issues such as pay, terms and conditions, and employment legislation.

With significant trade union experience at a senior level, and an understanding of NHS structures and government policy on health, you will have excellent communication, negotiation, training and presentational skills, combined with a strong collaborative approach and a thorough understanding of, and commitment to, equality and diversity principles and the ability to put them into practice.

Job Purpose:

Key Responsibilities:

About the Role:

As a Group Work Practitioner, you will be delivering a range of group work courses and programmes to adults affected by crime in the Thames Valley. You will be required to manage your own caseload and work in collaboration with other service delivery staff within the Thames Valley Adult Victims Service.

The Thames Valley Adult Victims Service will provide emotional and practical support to adult victims of any crime. Support will primarily be delivered through specialist group work provision, alongside online and telephone support.

About the role

As the Data Protection and Compliance Officer, you will deliver the data protection and compliance agenda at Crisis, ensuring a risk-based approach in line with applicable laws including the Data Protection Act 2018, UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Privacy and E-Communications Regulation in respect of marketing compliance.

You’ll work right across the organisation, from supporting our client facing regional centres in effective information sharing to help end someone’s homelessness, to working with Crisis’ transformation programme to help improve the governance and safekeeping of corporate and personal records. It is a hugely varied and busy role where you can switch from interacting with members of the public, our clients on rights issues to advising on police disclosure requests.

This is an exciting time to join Crisis and to be part of the new Compliance, Risk and Governance Team, influencing the privacy and data protection agenda for 2025-26. You would be an integral part of this small, yet influential team supporting the organisation to meet its legal obligations, understand its regulation requirements, and foster best practice.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Extensive knowledge of UK Data Protection law including an understanding of marketing legislation (PECR)
• A pragmatic, risk-based approach to advising internal teams on compliance activities
• The ability to translate data protection law into everyday terms and actions
• An understanding of information security and its interdependency with data protection requirements
• The ability to prioritise and work effectively with various departments.
• A values-based approach to how data is utilised, ensuring that it is not only lawful but fair, meeting the reasonable expectations of the people whose data Crisis is entrusted to protect.

You may have experience in, data protection, information governance or legal services provision in the not-for-profit, private or public sector.

We are looking for a fulfilment focused Supporter Relations Assistant to join our Supporter Relations Team and provide a great customer experience for all our supporters!

This role supports the Fulfilment Coordinator in embedding and implementing fulfilment initiatives and activities within Friends of the Earth and plays a frontline role in strengthening our supporters experience and promoting our vision to a wide range of people through our channels - email, post, phone and social media.

Key Skills and Attributes: 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed customer service whizz who can juggle managing deadlines, ensuring supporters are thanked and resource orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently, speaking to our brilliant supporters on the phone, moderating our social media pages, updating and maintaining supporter data in Dynamics and processing donations. You will be proactive and organised and have strong admin skills with an eye for detail and a problem-solving attitude.  

No previous experience is needed as you’ll be trained in using the Dynamics CRM and AgoraPulse platform, understanding Gift Aid, GDPR, compliant donation taking and more, and be a proactive self-starter who can hit the ground running, answering queries about climate change, the environment and protecting the natural world.

Our friendly and passionate Supporter Relations Team is at the frontline of our commitment to create and develop positive relationships with our grassroots network and supporters of Friends of the Earth.  

Location and working pattern:

Friends of the Earth operate a 4-day-week across 30 hours. Your working pattern will be Tuesday-Friday or Monday-Thursday.

We ask that our Supporter Relations Assistants work 4 days in our office in Stockwell with the day starting by 10am with a flexible working pattern to suit your individual needs. Our core hours are 10am to 4pm.
