The Partnerships Manager will play a central role in helping the the society achieve its strategic goals by developing, managing and sustaining partnerships to deliver external funding. They will manage existing relationships, identify opportunities, lead bid writing, develop compelling funding proposals, and build relationships with funders, partners, and philanthropic donors. They will work closely with colleagues to identify priority initiatives that require external funding to proceed and maintain a clear pipeline of funding needs across the organisation.
They are looking for someone with a demonstrable track record of securing new income and business in terms of five & six figure grants and gifts from a variety of funders, including trusts and foundations, research councils, corporates, or major donors. They are looking for a candidate with demonstrable experience in pipeline management and writing high-quality applications. The ideal candidate will understand impact and outcomes-based funding models (e.g. theory of change), and how to align funding opportunities with organisational priorities.

We are seeking a Planning Policy and Campaigns Officer to join our cause.
This is a critical time for nature’s recovery. To meet the UK legal target of securing 30% of land for nature’s recovery and halting wildlife decline by 2030, we need positive and strong laws and policies and for decision makers at both local and national level to ensure that planning and development gives back more to nature than it takes.
Currently there is huge uncertainty with a new Planning and Infrastructure Bill passing through parliament, which could fundamentally change the protections afforded to our most important wildlife sites and the delivery of mitigation. There are also changes proposed for Biodiversity Net Gain policy and the National Planning Policy Framework.
Locally, our counties face huge development pressures – both through house building and infrastructure development, including major port expansion. We must challenge inappropriate development proposals which would negatively impact our nature reserves and other key strategic areas or ambitions. It is also essential that local plans align with the Local Nature Recovery Strategies for the two counties and enable properly sustainable nature-positive development.
With the forthcoming creation of a strategic mayoral authority for the region alongside local government reorganisation, there is a critical opportunity to ensure that spatial development strategies front-load environmental considerations and recognise the wider benefits of planning with nature in mind.
Planning and development is an issue of huge interest to members and supporters who care about their communities and about wildlife. We have witnessed recently the power of people using their voice in our campaign with RSPB against the damaging development proposed at Tipner-West. We want to support and empower individuals and communities to respond, challenge and advocate on nature’s behalf.
This role is critical to achieving our strategic aims. As part of a small policy and advocacy team, you would lead on planning-related policy issues and work with supporters to achieve greater impact through campaigning.
This role sits within the Advocacy & Engagement team and will work with colleagues from across the Trust and beyond, to develop and deliver compelling, evidence-led policy positions. Your role will involve engaging with our MPs and councillors and supporting the development of the Trust’s campaigns to drive individuals and policy makers to act for nature.

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. Job Purpose:
Women in Prison’s Advocates deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive advocacy and support to a caseload of women in contact with, or at risk of being in contact with the criminal justice system.

We are seeking a Trainee Wilder Schools and Communities Officer to join our cause.
This role will help children, families, schools and communities connect with nature and take action in support of wildlife. Our education and engagement work plays a pivotal role in our efforts to create a wilder Hampshire and Isle of Wight. We know that wildlife is in freefall both locally and globally and we need many more people on nature’s side if we are to tip the balance in favour of nature’s recovery.
Based at Testwood Lakes Nature Reserve, this new role will work with schools, groups, communities and visitors from the surrounding area.
Testwood Lakes is one of the Wildlife Trust’s flagship reserves. It is a popular destination for the public and provides essential access to nature for those living in Totton and Southampton, as well as visitors from further afield. This is a multifunctional site used for angling, recreation and dog walking, as well as providing essential habitat and sanctuary areas for wildlife. The Education Centre provides space for visiting school groups as well as meeting space and at weekend hosts a variety of children and family activities.
This role will help us to engage more deeply with the communities surrounding the nature reserve, including local schools – inspiring and motivating them to take positive action, value the nature reserve and be part of ‘Team Wilder’. Our Wilder Schools approach has been developing over the past few years, building on our excellent track record of outdoor education at our sites. This role will support work with local schools, providing advice, guidance and educational sessions both in school and on-site at Testwood Lakes.
The post holder will also support building positive relationships and work closely with local organisations and residents/visitors to make a real difference to people’s connection with nature and encourage pro-nature behaviour change, both on-site and in the wider community.

As an unqualified, inexperienced independent multi-disciplinary advocate, you will be required to enrol on the Level 4 Independent Advocacy Practice qualification and complete the course within a set timescale, using protected study time to focus on this. You will shadow experienced team members and then be observed providing advocacy to those who are eligible for our services until you are able to pick up a caseload of your own. You will receive training in the different remits of advocacy, instructed and non-instructed advocacy and safeguarding and be supported to develop a thorough understanding of the role and boundaries of advocacy. The role involves acting on the instruction of the people you support, empowering them to have a say in their situation, to understand their rights and any options open to them and supporting them towards self-advocacy. Handel Hendrix House care for and present to the public the homes of two of the greatest musicians to have ever lived in London: George Frideric Handel and Jimi Hendrix. The charity presents these buildings as an evolving celebration of Handel and Hendrix’s lives, sharing their music, stories, and collections as a source of learning, enjoyment, and inspiration for all. The museum has undergone extensive renovations, and expanded the museum’s footprint to create an engaging visitor attraction reaching at least 30,000 visitors per year.
This is a great opportunity to make an impact within as the interim Museum Commercial Manager. You will lead on all commercial activities at Handel Hendrix House delivering against targets for visits, retail and venue hire.
You will oversee the museum’s ticketing operations and merchandising offer, ensuring a seamless and welcoming visitor experience while maximising income through both admissions and retail sales.
The day-to-day marketing and digital activities will be managed by the Marketing and Fundraising Officer, however you will work together with colleagues to ensure that the Handel Hendrix House commercial offer reflects the brand and values of the organisation. Working closely with an external commercial events partner you will promote Handel Hendrix House as a desirable venue for hire, maximising income.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Excellent commercial acumen, with circa 5 years’ experience in a similar role or in a retail environment.

The Role
