About the role

We are looking for an outstanding Senior Press Officer to work in our fast-paced press office, helping run it to the highest standard. RCS England is one of the most high-profile health commentators in the UK. You will regularly see us advocating for patients and the surgical workforce in the national press. Candidates should have experience of successfully pitching stories to national media and know what makes a good health story. You will have a fluent writing style and be confident working with senior stakeholders to brief them before interviews.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming enquiries and provide accurate, timely and appropriate responses, briefing journalists in line with RCS England key messages and priorities.
• Participate in an out-of-hours rota for media enquiries. Time off in lieu is offered for significant out-of-office hours worked.
• Research, write and distribute press releases, features, letters and other editorial material.
• Draft articles, quotes and opinion pieces on behalf of RCS England spokespeople.
• Provide press office support to the Faculty of Dental Surgery and its Dean, as required.
• Brief the President, Council Members and senior managers on issues arising in the media.
• Act as the press lead for key projects such as RCS England guidance or campaigns. Devising and implementing communications plans, sharing project updates with the wider communications team, and maintaining a good understanding of surgical and wider health issues.
• Horizon scan for media opportunities and develop your own ideas for health coverage based on data, insights or RCS England priorities.
• Brief, support and prepare RCS England spokespeople for media interviews.
• Establish and maintain professional and trusted relationships with national and trade journalists.
• Represent the RCS England at internal and external meetings, and maintain professional relationships with press and communications leads at stakeholder organisations.
• Monitor daily media coverage relevant to surgery and the RCS England. This includes pulling together the team’s daily press cuts to be shared with Council members, Trustees, and key RCS England staff by 10am (subject to urgent media enquiries).
• Maintain and update the media sections of the RCS England website, working with the web team to develop rich digital content. Actively participate in developing our social media profile using Twitter, Facebook, and commissioning and editing relevant blogs.
• Produce evaluation reports of media coverage and communications activity.
• Undertake such duties appropriate to the grade, as required by your line manager.

About you

• Degree educated or proven extensive experience that can demonstrate the essential criteria below.
• At least two years’ experience of working in a press office.
• Experience of writing and editing for a variety of media including print and the internet.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint packages.
• Demonstrable experience of placing stories in the media.
• Rigour in researching and reviewing content: able to identify key points, summarise findings and report data and conclusions accurately.
• Excellent writing skills: able to write fluent, compelling copy free from grammatical or other errors.
• Excellent telephone manner: diplomatic and persuasive verbal communication skills.
• Able to prioritise effectively and deliver work to deadlines.
• Demonstrable understanding of journalists’ needs and priorities.
• Ability to understand policy documents and formulate a media response.
• Collaborative and inclusive approach to build relationships with colleagues across the organisation, to encourage timely information sharing with the press office.

What is the overall purpose of the role?

At Youth Action Alliance, our mission is to support the personal and social development (their values, beliefs, ideas and skills) of the young people living in Kensington and Chelsea, enabling them to increase their resilience and skills in the present and promote their ambitions for the future.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Leadership & Delivery

• Plan and deliver an innovative, progressive programme of activities, developed in collaboration with young people and colleagues.
• Create safe, supportive spaces that foster personal and social development.
• Deliver 1 to1 and group support sessions through a variety of methods (in-person, phone, digital), providing advice, guidance, mentoring, and signposting to other services.

Service Development Manager

We are looking for an experienced and resourceful Service Development Manager to work closely with the CEO to establish and deliver a strong presence across Forest of Dean, Cheltenham and Tewkesbury.

The Role

This is a hands-on role combining direct family support, project management, service development and partnership building. You will hold an appropriate caseload, develop new activity, build strong local referral pathways and help turn the countywide plans into practical support for families.

We need someone who is confident working independently, takes ownership, builds relationships quickly and can find practical solutions when there is no obvious route forward. The initial focus will be Forest of Dean, Cheltenham and Tewkesbury, but the role is designed to evolve as our countywide work develops.

We are looking to appoint an experienced fundraiser to manage a portfolio of corporate partnerships to help fund the growth of our care services, and to build relationships with companies to help them achieve their CSR goals.

The Role

Overseeing an annual budget of circa £1m, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of MSH's financial management. You will lead the day-to-day finance function, including line management of one part-time Finance Officer, while contributing to the wider strategic development of the charity. The Clink Charity, founded in 2009, aims to prevent and reduce reoffending through training, rehabilitation, and support. We deliver hospitality and horticulture training behind the prison walls and in the community, by creating an environment where our students are supported to gain the skills, confidence and qualifications they need to rebuild their lives.

Since that time, we have trained approximately 5,000 people in prison and delivered 2,600 City & Guilds qualifications in a variety of hospitality and food courses.

JOB PURPOSE

The Reintegration and Employment Lead (Prisons & Through the Gate) is responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality reintegration and employment support across multiple prison establishments and into the community, as well as across our youth projects.

This is a visible operational leadership role, working across a portfolio of prisons to ensure individuals are supported to leave custody with realistic employment opportunities, coordinated Through the Gate support and the practical tools they need to secure and sustain meaningful employment post-release.

The role also supports our youth café projects in South London and Guildford, working alongside Chef Trainers and Youth Support Workers to ensure that young people at risk of offending are supported to progress into further education, employment or training following graduation from the programme.

You will lead and develop a geographically dispersed team of Support and Employment Workers, building strong relationships with prison governors, prison staff, probation, employers and community partners to ensure a consistent, high-quality service across all locations. By providing effective leadership, driving continuous improvement and maintaining the highest professional standards, you will help people build positive futures through education, training and employment, contributing to reduced offending and reoffending and safer communities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Leadership 

· Provide visible operational leadership across multiple prison establishments and community locations, ensuring a consistent, high-quality employment and reintegration service.

· Lead, motivate and develop a geographically dispersed team of Support and Employment Workers delivering support both within prisons, post-release and across our youth projects.

· Create a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture through coaching,

supervision, mentoring and regular one-to-one support.

· Manage workloads, resources and priorities across multiple sites to ensure services remain responsive to operational needs.

· Conduct regular quality assurance, case reviews and performance discussions to maintain high standards of practice.

· Report to the Head of Training and Impact and the wider SLT on the delivery and impact of the Reintegration and Employment team, ensuring they are kept informed of performance, outcomes and the impact of interventions.

Through the Gate Delivery 

· Lead the delivery of an effective Through the Gate service, ensuring seamless continuity of employment support from custody into the community.

· Work closely with prison teams to embed employment planning throughout an individual's custodial journey.

· Ensure every participant has a realistic and personalised employment plan that continues beyond release.

· Oversee effective release planning and handover arrangements so individuals are connected with employers, probation, mentors and community services immediately following release.

· Identify and help remove barriers to employment, including housing, benefits, transport, digital inclusion, health and wellbeing.

Youth Project Delivery 

· Lead the delivery of high-quality support and progression pathways for young people participating in our youth café projects in South London and Guildford.

· Work closely with Chef Trainers and Youth Support Workers to ensure each young person receives coordinated support throughout their programme and is prepared for progression following graduation.

· Ensure every participant has a realistic and personalised progression plan, focused on further education, employment or training and reflecting their individual aspirations, skills and circumstances.

· Oversee effective transition arrangements at the end of the programme, connecting young people with employers, education and training providers, mentors and other appropriate community support.

· Identify and help address barriers to successful progression, working with colleagues and external partners to ensure young people can access the practical and personal support they need.

· Monitor progression and sustained outcomes following graduation, ensuring the impact of the youth programmes is captured and opportunities for improvement are identified.

Employer and Partnership Development

· Build and maintain strong relationships with employers to secure meaningful employment opportunities for prison leavers and young people progressing from our youth programmes.

· Develop productive partnerships with HMPPS, Probation, prison governors, prison employment leads, local authorities, education and training providers and voluntary sector organisations.

· Represent the organisation confidently across prison establishments and community settings, adapting delivery to local operational requirements while maintaining consistent service standards.

· Promote the benefits of inclusive employment and encourage employers to create opportunities for people who may face barriers to entering the workplace.

 

Performance and Service Improvement 

· Monitor and manage performance against contractual KPIs, organisational objectives and progression and employment outcome targets.

· Analyse performance data to identify trends, improve delivery and maximise sustained progression and employment outcomes.

· Prepare accurate reports for senior managers, commissioners and funders as required. Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement, sharing best practice across all areas of service delivery.

· Ensure participant records and case management systems are maintained accurately and in a timely manner.

Safeguarding, Risk and Compliance 

· Ensure full compliance with HMPPS requirements, safeguarding procedures, organisational policies and relevant legislation across both custodial and community settings.

· Ensure that safeguarding practice reflects the different needs and requirements ofadults and children, with particular regard to the enhanced safeguarding responsibilities associated with working with young people under the age of 18.

· Ensure appropriate safeguarding arrangements are embedded within the youth projects, working closely with Support Workers and other colleagues to identify concerns, manage risk and escalate or refer safeguarding issues appropriately.

· Promote a culture of professional accountability, confidentiality, appropriate professional boundaries and safe working practices across all areas of service delivery.

· Identify, assess and manage operational and safeguarding risks, escalating concerns promptly and appropriately.

· Ensure the safe handling of sensitive information in accordance with UK GDPR, data protection requirements and organisational policies.

· Maintain an up-to-date understanding of prison security procedures and ensure these are consistently applied across all establishments.

Additional Requirements 

· This is a highly visible operational leadership role requiring regular travel between prison establishments across the Home Counties, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire, as well as our youth projects in South London and Guildford.

The Senior Creditor Controller (Income) will play a key part in the Business's income processing activity.

The working pattern for this role consist of: Monday to Friday. Hybrid working - 2 days from Head Office (Tuesday, Wednesday or as required)

What you'll do:
* Reduce debt by collecting payments on time and within agreed payment terms and credit limits, using email, telephone and written follow-up.
* Ensure cash received is allocated to the correct accounts, and investigate, analyse and follow up on any underpayments or overpayments with the relevant team.
* Regularly reconcile accounts to ensure payments have been allocated correctly.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders.
* Arrange and attend internal and external liaison meetings as needed to reduce debt risk and address barriers to payment.
* Review overdue historical debt and prepare reports identifying amounts that may qualify for write-off under the Bad Debt provision.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities below reflect where the role will focus in its first year. Individual Giving is a growing team working to Agile principles, so priorities will develop over time. We would expect the postholder to support colleagues across Public Fundraising as needs change, and to shape their own areas of specialism as they grow in the role.

Campaign Delivery and Acquisition

• Take end-to-end ownership of assigned individual giving acquisition campaigns, from brief and creative development through to build, launch, optimisation and evaluation.

• Deliver lead generation activity across paid social, paid search and email, working with our digital consultants and agency partners on execution.

• Support the delivery of integrated campaigns where conversion takes place by telephone or mail, briefing our telemarketing partner, managing lead flow, and monitoring lead quality and volume.

• Deliver cash appeals across email, direct mail and digital, taking a named lead role on agreed appeals within the annual cycle.

• Test and optimise creative, audiences, landing pages and asks, maintaining a clear test log and sharing what we learn across the team.

• Monitor campaign performance against CPL, CPA, response rate and ROI targets, reporting on results and flagging where reallocating budget would improve returns.

• Contribute to the testing and rollout of new fundraising propositions as they emerge from our proposition development work.

• Track campaign spends against budget, raise purchase orders, and support reforecasting.

Supporter Journeys, Retention and Upgrade

• Design, build and implement the welcome journey for new regular givers, covering the welcome pack, thank-you contact and automated email sequence.

• Plan and deliver structured upgrade activity and other asks to regular giving and cash supporters, working with agency partners where telephone delivery is used.

• Contribute to reducing first-year attrition and increasing average gift value against agreed targets, reporting on retention by cohort and upgrade take-up and taking learnings forward.

• Work closely with the Team so that journeys are practical to deliver, with reactive supporter contact and fulfilment considered.

Cross-Sell and Collaboration

• Develop and deliver cross-sell activity that introduces supporters from one part of our fundraising to another, for example inviting campaigners, petition signers, community fundraisers and event participants to give regularly.

• Support legacy and in-memory promotion by embedding appropriate messaging within acquisition and supporter journey communications.

• Work with Agile principles in mind, planning and delivering collaboratively.

•  Provide cover and support for colleagues across Public Fundraising during periods of peak activity, absence or change, and deputise for the Individual Giving Manager where required.

Data, Compliance and Ways of Working

• Maintain accurate campaign and supporter records within our CRM system (Access CRM), and brief data selections and segmentation accurately.

• Hold a good working knowledge of key aspects of data protection law including GDPR and PECR, as well as the Fundraising Code of Practice.

Skills and Competencies

Our ideal candidate would have the following:

• Demonstrable experience delivering direct marketing or individual giving campaigns end to end, within a charity, agency or comparable commercial environment.

• Hands-on experience setting up and managing campaigns in Meta Business Suite and/or Google paid advertising, and in email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp.

• Experience planning, building or contributing to supporter journeys, welcome programmes or automated email sequences.

• Comfortable working with campaign data and reporting against metrics such as CPL, CPA, response rate and ROI using tools such as Google Analytics 4 (GA4), and within Excel, and using results to make decisions.

• Strong written communication, with the ability to write and brief compelling fundraising copy that motivates and inspires.

• Experience briefing and working alongside agencies, consultants or external suppliers to deliver activity to deadlines.

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent campaigns and priorities in a busy environment, with excellent attention to detail.

• A collaborative and innovative mindset with a desire to test, learn, and work cross-functionally.

• Comfortable in a changing environment where priorities shift, and willing to take on new areas as the team's needs and your own development require.

• A strong belief in the work we do at PCR, and a demonstrable desire to improve outcomes for patients through our work in fundraising.

Desirable:

• Experience of regular giving retention, upgrade or reactivation activity.

• Experience of telemarketing or direct mail campaigns, including briefing agencies and managing data selections.

• Experience working with a CRM system, particularly Access CRM, and with donation platforms such as Fundraise Up.

• Knowledge of WordPress website optimisation and landing page build, or a strong desire to learn.

• Experience working within Agile project management frameworks.

• Ability to utilise and integrate AI tools and workflows such as Microsoft Copilot including agents to improve effectiveness, efficiency and outcomes where appropriate.
