About Brake
Every death and serious injury on the road is a preventable tragedy. Yet, on average, five people die every day on the road in the UK and 79 are seriously injured (10-year average from 2015-2024).
Our vision is a world with zero road death and injury, where we can all move in a safe and healthy way, whoever we are and however we travel. Since 1995, Brake has worked to prevent road deaths and serious injuries, make streets safe and healthy places for all, and support road crash victims through our National Road Victim Service. We campaign to prevent crashes and reduce harm when they occur. We help people affected by road death and injury get the support they need, for as long as they need it. We deliver education programmes to improve knowledge, develop skills and shift attitudes. Attached is a copy of our current strategy..

We are currently seeking new talent for our Board of Trustees. The Board has overall responsibility and accountability for the organisation’s governance and strategic direction, and trustees use their skills and experience to set the charity’s strategy and objectives and support their delivery and oversight.

Formal board meetings take place quarterly, although from time to time, there are additional meetings that take place that you may be asked to join and contribute to, including sub-committees. The expected time commitment is approximately 1 – 2 days per month. Trustee appointments are typically for a three-year term, which may be renewed. Meetings are primarily held virtually, with occasional in-person meetings.
The role is unremunerated; reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. THE ROLE: MARKETING & COMMS LEAD (VOLUNTEER)
We’re looking for someone who can turn Urban Youth into a brand young people want to follow, wear, and represent.
You’ll lead on:
Creating hype around our drops, making each one feel like a streetwear release
Building a digital community across Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms
Crafting bold, youth‑centred messaging that feels real, relevant, and exciting
Developing our comms strategy from scratch as a start‑up charity
Creating content that feels like culture, not corporate comms
Making Urban Youth feel like a movement young people want to belong to

We are looking for a Volunteer & Recruitment Manager who will be a proactive, outgoing and organised person with a passion for volunteering and who understands the difference that volunteers can make to the community. In this role you will help to recruit Trustees, Committee Members, activity leaders and other volunteers to build and maintain a robust infrastructure around our current team members enabling the organisation to grow and prosper.
Volunteers are a critical part of the Charity’s foundation, providing the organisation’s services and supporting the fundraising goals. The Volunteer & Recruitment Manager role is to recruit, maintain and manage the Charity’s volunteers as well as raising awareness of volunteer opportunities within the community through various engagement initiatives.
You will help develop and grow our team by increasing the number of volunteers, meeting internal demand and enabling growth in new areas.

Your input is key to the day to day running of CAG as well as securing its future. We want you to help us find the right people to fill roles such as Treasurer, Program Manager, Secretary as well as recruiting new Leaders to help run our weekly activities and to take our members on exciting weekends away. You will be helping us build a team of volunteers who can support both the administrative side of CAG as well as those running our termly program. Our volunteers are the lifeblood of CAG and you will play a crucial part in keeping that heart beating.
