We are now looking for someone with an interest in Charity Communications/Social Media who can take on the responsibilities of the direct social media output. The successful candidate will join us in our office or other locations mainly in North London once a week. The Coroners' Courts Support Service (CCSS) is a registered Charity whose trained volunteers give emotional and practical support to bereaved families and other witnesses attending an inquest.
We need volunteers to provide emotional support and practical help to bereaved families, witnesses and others attending Inquests at Coroners' Court. Our volunteers at court also provide help and assistance to the Coroners' Officers, as and when required.
We are looking for reliable, supportive people with excellent communication skills. A mature and calm attitude is needed in order to be able to talk to people during a sometimes bewildering and emotional experience. Volunteers must be willing to undergo a period of observations and shadowing, as well as attend a 3 day training course. A minimum of 2 court days per month attendance requiured. Training and mentoring is provided and travel expenses to the court are reimbursed.
New volunteers should possess good communication and listening skills and the ability to empathise with people they support.

Do you live in Wales and want to gain valuable skills, have new experiences, and support vulnerable people?
We are offering 2 young people aged 18-25 the opportunity to volunteer with the Portuguese Red Cross in Braga, Portugal. Next placement dates are planned for: 5th January - end of August 2026.
You will be working on a range of projects, which will give you the chance to explore the different kinds of social action that the Portuguese Red Cross undertake in Braga.
Typical tasks may involve:
- Supporting the charity shop, Ponto Vermelho, with social media, sorting donations and organising the displays.
- Supporting in the Youth Centre for the Roma Community – organising and delivering activities, helping with homework.
- Supporting in the Foster Care for Unaccompanied Minor Refugees.
- Supporting the Social Kindergarten.
- Assisting with projects which help the homeless and the elderly.
- Assisting in the writing of project proposals and funding bids.
It's a fantastic opportunity to get involved in projects and find out what you are interested in. For more details on the role and the projects available, have a look at the role description. The main thing we want to see is your motivation for this placement! These are fully funded placements, with return flights, accommodation and health insurance covered - volunteers receive a small monthly stipend for living expenses.
Please note that only young people based in Wales can apply for this role, as it is Taith funded. Interviews will take place online with shortlisted candidates.
We are keen to hear from individuals especially those who do not normally get the chance to volunteer overseas, who are passionate and motivated about working in the humanitarian sector and international volunteering but who also understand that these types of placements require adaptability and resilience. What will you be doing?

Our new Treasurer will be a key member of the Board of Trustees, responsible for providing strategic financial oversight and ensuring that Honour Thy Woman Group manages its resources responsibly, transparently, and in line with UK charity law.

We’re seeking a new Treasurer with the following attributes:
· Financial literacy and confidence with budgets.
· Ability to interpret financial information and explain it clearly.
· A qualified accountant (or equivalent, qualified by experience), ideally with experience in charity finance. Training will be provided where experience of charity finance is not already in place.

Time commitment
Attending 4 annual online Board meetings of an evening. Attendance of ad-hoc Advisory Group meetings and optional event attendance. Trustees should also allocate time to read and respond to emails.

The Events Assistant will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of Hidayah’s events and activities. Working closely with the Events Officer and wider team, this role ensures that all events run smoothly, are well-promoted, inclusive, and aligned with Hidayah’s mission. The ideal candidate is organised, proactive, and passionate about creating meaningful community experiences.
What are the key responsibilities of this role?
This role will have the following duties, but are not limited to:
1. Event Planning & Delivery
· Support the Events Officer in planning, organising, and delivering a range of events, both online and in person
· Liaise with venues and caterers to confirm logistics, costs, and facilities, ensuring value for money and guest satisfaction
· Manage event listings and guest registrations through OutSavvy, ensuring all attendees have active Hidayah memberships
· Assist with event setup, registration, and on-the-day coordination, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment
· Support with risk assessments, accessibility considerations, and general event compliance
2. Marketing & Communications
· Collaborate with the Social Media team to schedule and promote events across Hidayah’s social channels
· Create or support the design of promotional materials and graphics using Canva
· Draft event descriptions, newsletter content, and updates for review by the Events Officer
· Coordinate the monthly newsletter, liaising with the Social Media team to finalise and distribute
· Engage partner charities, community groups, and networks to share event information via email and social media
3. Stakeholder & Community Engagement
· Build and maintain relationships with organisations, partners, and individuals aligned with Hidayah’s mission
· Send thank-you messages to venues, partners, and attendees following events
· Distribute and collect feedback forms, compiling responses to support continuous improvement
· Represent Hidayah at community events and networking opportunities where appropriate
4. Administrative Support
· Maintain and update the contact database and event records
· Manage the Events Team inbox, responding to or triaging queries promptly
· Attend regular Events Team meetings, contributing updates and ideas
· Track and report on event expenses and participation data as required
What do we expect from the Events Assistant?

Essential:
· Excellent organisation, communication, and time management skills. - Ability to work independently with minimal support but also as part of a team. - Proactive attitude with strong attention to detail.
· Confident using (or willing to learn) tools such as OutSavvy, Google Suite (Docs, Calendar, Meet), HootSuite, and Discord
· Familiarity with social media platforms and an understanding of their role in event promotion
· Commitment to Hidayah’s values of inclusion, respect, and community empowerment
Desirable:

How much commitment is required?

We're looking for a trustee with experience or knowledge of working within the criminal justice system. This is an important area of our work that isn't currently represented on our board.
Step Together Volunteering is a small but mighty charity. Through our unique, person-centred approach we support people to build the confidence and skills they need to look towards a positive future.
We work with young people, people in contact with the justice system, and the Armed Forces community, through 1-1 support, coaching and volunteering placements in the community. Our support doesn't have a time limit, we work with our clients until they have the confidence and skills they need to look forward to a more positive future.
We work nationally, our Head Office is Bristol, and our frontline staff are home-based in the regions they cover.
As a trustee, alongside your fellow board members you'll be responsible for the strategic leadership and administration of Step Together, and we're keen for you to contribute your perspectives and experiences to discussion. Alongside this, we'd specifically like you to:
- Provide expertise relating to the criminal justice system, and support to the rest of the Board and senior staff to ensure the charity operates a best practice model.
- Help identify opportunities for the charity to expand its work and impact within the criminal justice sector, including those funded by statutory and voluntary funders.
- Remain abreast of key developments within the criminal justice sector, ensuring these are brought to the attention of the rest of the Board and senior staff.
- Leverage support for the charity’s work (financial or otherwise) from your own networks and contacts where possible.
- Advise on implications of any current or planned projects within the criminal justice sector to aid good decision-making at board level.
What are we looking for?
Your experience will ideally have been gained through professional work in the Criminal Justice Sector. This could be through employment within the Prisons or Probation Service, other Ministry of Justice role, Youth Justice teams, Police, or with another charity or agency working in the sector.
Good networks within the justice system in the southwest would be advantageous. You will be knowledgeable about the criminal justice sector, the role the voluntary sector plays, and the challenges faced by the different organisations working in the sector.
Ability to work at a strategic level is essential.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the work that we do, and someone who is happy to advocate for and represent the charity to key stakeholders to help further our work and impact.

Commitments
We have two in person meetings per year (one in London, one in Bristol) and two online, plus an 'away day' in the autumn. We're ideally looking for trustees who based in Bristol or the surrounding areas.
Our board meetings and away day are fixed but there may be times we need to get in touch on an ad-hoc basis, or ask you to be involved in task-focussed committees.

The Coroners' Courts Support Service (CCSS) is a registered Charity whose trained volunteers give emotional and practical support to bereaved families and other witnesses attending an inquest.
We need volunteers to provide emotional support and practical help to bereaved families, witnesses and others attending Inquests at Coroners' Court. Our volunteers at court also provide help and assistance to the Coroners' Officers, as and when required.
We are looking for reliable, supportive people with excellent communication skills. A mature and calm attitude is needed in order to be able to talk to people during a sometimes bewildering and emotional experience. Volunteers must be willing to undergo a period of observations and shadowing, as well as attend a 3 day training course. A minimum of 2 court days per month attendance requiured. Training and mentoring is provided and travel expenses to the court are reimbursed.
New volunteers should possess good communication and listening skills and the ability to empathise with people they support.
