Can you spare two hours a week to work with some of the friendliest, welcoming people

you’ll ever meet? If so, then please come and help our volunteers organise fun, engaging

activities at our ever-growing club for people with learning disabilities. No previous experience

is needed; you just need a caring attitude and sense of fun!

Our club is split into two age groups: 14-25 years and 25 years +. You have a chance to make a real

difference to either group by creating new experiences, helping our members to grow in

confidence, build friendships and learn new skills. Our specialist club leaders will support and

train you, and you’ll benefit from working in a very rewarding environment!

About SOS+ Education -VEX team

Working with young people in a variety of educational settings, St. Giles’ SOS+ Service delivers early intervention work, through one-to-one mentoring and preventative sessions on violence, vulnerability and exploitation. The mission of SOS+ is to prevent children and young people becoming involved in gangs and youth violence by equipping them with tools, knowledge and support delivered by experts with lived experience.

About this key role

As Volunteer Education Project Coordinator, you’ll take the lead on coordinating project bookings, managing communication with schools and partners, and ensuring smooth delivery of the SOS+ service through first-class administrative, data, and logistical support. Your work will directly contribute to St Giles Trust’s mission to create safer communities and empower young people to thrive.

What you’ll be doing:

· Coordinating bookings for SOS+ education projects and managing the team’s delivery calendar.

· Supporting income generation by bringing in new Spot Purchase bookings.

· Recording accurate project data, monitoring deliverables, and flagging barriers to success.

· Organising travel, accommodation, and logistics for virtual and face-to-face delivery.

· Assisting with data collection, evaluation, and performance reporting.

· Following up on business development leads and supporting project growth.

What we are looking for

· A proven track record of providing efficient, high-quality administrative support

· Experience of coordinating bookings, managing calendars, booking travel and accommodation, and providing high-quality customer service via phone calls, emails, and in meetings

· Experience of project coordination, ideally including partnership work with schools and external organisations to achieve agreed outcomes

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

· A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work.

Principal responsibilities are:

• Strategy - contributing actively to the formation of strategy, the Young Sounds business plan, and evaluating the performance of the organisation against the plan.
• Oversight - ensuring that the charity is well run, efficient and compliant with the charity's Articles of Association, its policies, including safeguarding and EDI, governance codes of practice, legal responsibilities and upholding the organisation's reputation and values.
• Advocacy - advocating for the charity at all times, supporting fundraising efforts and promoting the work of the charity in the trustee's daily life.

Requirements:

Previous trustee experience is not necessary, and we welcome trustees who can bring a diversity of life experiences, cultural knowledge and expertise.

As a national charity we are keen to attract trustees from all parts of the UK, and particularly those who are based outside London and the South East.

For this round, we particularly welcome expertise in the following areas:

• EDI and CSR programmes in the creative industries
• Youth culture and content creation
• Music Hub and/or National Curriculum expertise
• Fundraising
• Contemporary music performance and production

This position is for minimum 3 days a week, working from home with a March event in central London. 

We are looking for horse-experienced volunteers and/or volunteers with experience working with people with disabilities to help support our RDA participants during their weekday riding as therapy sessions.

Horse-based roles would include:

1) Support catching and bringing horses in from field or stable.

2)Helping groom and tack up

3)Leading horses (if experienced with horses or have completed internal training) 

4)Side-helping - Walking alongside the participant on the ride to support them emotionally and help pass on instructions given by the Coach

Other roles would include:

1)Meets and greets with participants and parents and/or carers as they arrive for activities

2)Setting up the school before sessions and helping break down the school after sessions

3)Completing registers and helping with rotas

There are also opportunities for volunteers to undertake further training towards becoming a registered RDA Instructor. Our sessions are run entirely by volunteers. We are looking for positive, friendly and forward thinking individuals to join us!

About the role

The Administrative Volunteer will play an integral role in supporting the execution of campaigns and appeals run by both the Mass Marketing Team and the Lendwithcare Team. This position operates within the Supporter Care Team under the supervision of one of our Supporter Care Officers. Additional administrative activities may also be assigned as required.

We anticipate that you will volunteer one day a week at our London Office in Farringdon, preferably Wednesdays. For volunteers residing within the Greater London area, reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed. A member of the Supporter Care team will usually be in every Wednesday, hence the usual day being a Wednedsay.
